I want an augmented reality scope that pairs with mantisx to turn this into a interactive simulation through my scope. Zombies in the backyard and North Koreas at the front door and so on.
I hope there’s a plan to integrate the mantis x and mantis laser academy into a single interface. Only criticism I have about the systems. They’re great.
Yep, agree completely. It's honestly pretty useless at this point. The trigger reset function is great and all, but, without the target integration like the academy has with pistols, you're really better off just getting an AR bb gun and using a pellet trap.
I just ordered one, I couldn't be more excited, the convenience and cost savings are literally unbeatable, and all the analytics seem like they could be tremendously useful.
How does this account for recoil for follow up shots? Fast initial target identification is nice but you have no recoil simulation (airsoft has something that can be utilized to add some variable via buffer tube electronics or gas blowback). Unsure if it is possible but It would be nice if it accounted for stress simulation if possible, maybe have something in the software to account for this variable via data collection by setting a scenario and accounting for a person’s response with a series of questions they answer and monitoring daily life activities...
I know that on the x10 pistol side they had daily training task.. one was put your hands in cold water for as long as you can and then take a shot, or you wake at night and the pistol is on the night stand you have to grab it and take a shot, an other one I remember was 25 burpees (8 count push ups) then make a shot from 7 yards.. this is dry fire, you will not get any recoil. if you can not do this with no recoil then adding a variable like that will not help at all.

If the receiver accepts standard AR-15 Bolt Carrier Groups, triggers, and magazines, then Blackbeard is very likely to be compatible. We have run into a few cases where unusual trigger hammer profiles are incompatible, but this is uncommon.

Interesting. What about recoil? How is that factored into the equation? What about stress? What about if you were running, crawling, climbing? Interesting concept, but there are the above mentioned factors to account for. I doubt this "System" would really be a viable traing tool. Live fire drills are the only way to train. This product is useless
Dry fire training is an easy and safe way to practice the fundamentals of shooting without needing to buy additional ammo or go to the range. When you dry fire, you are working on other fundamentals. Essentially, you are replicating the act of firing your gun, just without live ammunition. By pulling the trigger when there isn’t live ammunition in the chamber, you can feel the pull weight, take-up, wall, and the break of the trigger. It's a tried and true method that has been used for decades Our systems offer just a bit more insight into your training. Let us know if you have any other questions.
There is no training tool that takes every possible scenario into account. That's why they're tools, not the whole toolbox. Jerry Miculek has always sworn by dry fire training, and even insists that you do dry fire drills before ever going to the range to "earn" your live fire practice. I don't know you, but I know you're no Jerry Miculek.
In bootcamp I spent 3-4 days just doing dry fires before I even seen a round fly out the barrel. I dry fired more at an empty drum before setting foot on the range. It feels stupid after a while but it helps. I still do it with new guns just to get familiar with it.
The Mantis Blackbeard is junk, I bought one and did not use it for a long time. It ended up being out of warranty, but it was still brand new in the box. I charged up the battery, tested it and it did not work after reading, forums and TH-cam, or realize that I am not the only one. This is a waste of money.
Our warranty period is 2 years. I'm sorry you weren't able to use it for 2 years. Batteries that sit for periods of time can certainly deteriorate over time, especially without being used.
Mantis Blackbeard is a toy! Better you go to the range and learn to manage your gun. You can practice dry firing all day long but wants the recoil comes in at rapid fire…it’s over priced. The analysis in live fire is misleading and needs improvement.
