This is great because I understand that there are many out there who wants to share their story but they are afraid. I started my TH-cam channel instantly after I realized I'm Autistic and I'm now self identified AuDHD. I didn't know anything about how to make videos for TH-cam and I'm from Sweden so I struggled a little bit with expressing myself but it's easier now. I've met so many amazing people here and though I have a very small channel I get comments from ND people who are relating to me and they really want to watch my videos. Because I'm so good at criticising myself I think my videos are boring but I gain confidence every time I post a video. We are all different and we don't have to talk in a certain way, the most important thing is that we share our stories, thoughts and emotions. We are so important for the ND community and we all support each other. I think it's amazing that people want to talk about the struggles we have and how we are treated. We have many amazing qualities and that's why we advocate for our needs to make people understand that there are so many misconceptions.
Tell me about it. Just last week someone who I mentioned to that I have a neurodivergent kid sent me links to "heal" autism with a different diet. Bahahahahaha. I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time and punch her in the face. Instead I just wrote back, I am proud of my family's neurodivergence. God didn't make a mistake with me and my kids and my husband. We are like this BY DESIGN. and it's glorious! 🎤🫳🏽Rant over.
I can't do it! I'm too private - not completely else I wouldn't be commenting on TH-cam 😂 - about my life, my space and my family. Plus I'm quite introverted and shy. I even feel uncomfortable around cameras, soooo, yeah... 😔
Ah i understand You can do like a faceless Yt channel. Voiceover beautiful scenery or stuff you film. Or use the prompts in my challenge for journaling. That’s also impactful! I 1000% support privacy and not oversharing (something I myself struggle with) so yeah I get you.
I 10000% support privacy. Ok, I get it. There are ways to do video with a voiceover only or even just text to music. If you feel like your story needs to be told, it can be done anonymously.
I am a 46 year old single mom. I had no idea i might be autistic and ADHD until my son was diagnosed as well. I see so many similarities in his behaviors with mine. I am saving up for a formal ASD assessment. But I am absolutely sure. I would make videos on TH-cam....but i don't like looking at myself on camera. I don't think i would be able to edit the videos. 😅
That's so cool that you would consider sharing your journey on YT. I 1000% support you. And the best part, you don't have to edit if you don't want to. The trend is zero edits right now - all the pros are experimenting with this new editing style and it's working. How would it be if you started a secret channel and just start now while you wait for your Dx?
I love your delivery. Watching late-diagnosed ADHD TH-camrs gave me the push to book an appointment to get assessed. I’m glad that this platform allows people with unique experiences to share their wisdom and foster connection.
YES!!!!!! I totally get it!!! I love seeing other creators out there!!! I love this sooo much and I agree sooo sooo much!!! I'm also shouting you out 222 Subs WooHoo!!! Let's GOOOOO!!!! 😍
Its a great idea but would there be any point in me also talking about my neurodivergent perspective if I can't really offer any solutions to mental health issues? I do procrastination all the time with most things and nothing seems to be fixing it since around 7 years ago. Also, I very rarely work (although I usually volunteer once a week) and I rather hate where I live. Though, I could do a good job at being brutally honest with regards to issues affecting vulnerable people including myself but I feel I'd come across too strong for it since I have a massive hatred towards people in power who get away with hurting vulnerable people and the environment.
YES! TH-cam needs a dose of brutal honesty. Especially neurodivergent content. Create an anonymous channel and share. It will add to the share experience of the community.
Thanks for sharing your story/ been so helpful- I am not diagnosed officially but I can relate to your stories. I am still learning so hard for me to start sharing when I am still learning. I am definitely weird- would love to catch up with you. I am also a South Asian adult.
On the one hand, I want to share my story, on the other hand, I'm certain it would create friction between my ex- husban and me, causing co-parenting with him to be even more stressful, if he found the channel.
I kind of feel like i can't because i don't have diagnosis and my children don't have diagnosis either. I strongly suspect that i have autism and ADHD, and my kids are probably neurodivergent as well
You could make some videos or shorts on that suspicion. I'm sure there are thousands of others who are thinking the same thing and wondering whether they are on the spectrum but aren't sure how to go about getting a diagnosis (self or official).

Thanks for your comment! And for sharing your journey on TH-cam. We’re building a movement 💪
WE ARE NOT BROKEN!
Thanks for saying this! It breaks my heart 💔 that some people want to "cure" us. I don't need to be fixed.

I'm also so grateful for this platform. The level of connection is really special... Good luck with your new YT channel! I've subbed 😉

222 woohoo. 22 is my fave number and I’m overwhelmed 🥲🥰 can’t wait to see you at your favourite number of subs too! Cheering you on. 💙♥️💙♥️
Love!! Representation matters and TH-cam is lacking currently! We can build a great community though!
Absolutely!!
You are great at communicating… Thank you so much for making this video

Feel free to book something with me. The details are on my website neurodivergentmom.net.
