If your calling it a truck, here is something to remember: With 2 adults, 2 children, 2 dogs, and a trailer behind the car with luggage and a motorcycle, the MPG highway is about 5MPG (at 70-80 MPH cruse) That's because of the V6 engine, and most trucks are V8's. The V6 can pull it all, it just has to work harder to do it.
Navic it doesnt have to work harder, it's twin turbo, it has something like 420tq at 2000 rpm, the motor literally doesn't have go past 2500rpm to drive around a fully loaded cabin.
cornell daniel You would be surprised about who cares about that when I pay 69,000 $ for a SUV I want to know every single thing about it 0 to 60 and topspeed everything.
Break boost plus on 4H it will definatly help if im not mistaken ford has a safety feature in wich 4wheel drive is disengaged automatically at 40 or 45mph
I think doing the Ike Guantlet with you four gents and a trailer maximizing tow and payload limits would be a good test. It would show how the vehicle performs under worst case situations...food for thought.
Mine has a replaced throttlebody because the factory one is an issue in these trucks. I also installed a new exhaust to help it breathe better. Long and the short of it is I have timed 0 to 60 with different methods and it is about 5.95 seconds on average with just me in it (265 lb male)
Hey does anyone know if Chrysler is bringing back the Aspen? It was a beautiful and reliable suv that just needed a better interior. I think Chrysler would make a killing if they brought it back.
Can you guys show off the increased interior room of the EL over the standard Expedition that you reviewed previously? Maybe fold down all of the rear seats and put Nathan back there to see if he thinks it's comfortable. :)
It's very good looking! And much more up to date. Only thing I don't like is the colour and the way the new exhaust pipe goes out. Doesn't look the best in my opinion!
The 2003 and up expeditions have nothing to do with the F-150. The 1st gen 97-02 expeditions shared a lot with the F-150, but these new ones have literally nothing in common except the engines and sometimes the transmissions.
Looks like you are guys are quite heavy and the truck itself too. +1 sec to the 0-60 from empty to half-loaded truck. If you put smth to the trunk the time 0-60 will be somewhere 10 sec. Also interesting what would be 0-60 with a trailer.
you are a;so using the EL version which is heavier. and since its the platinum trim there has to be extra weight for all the safety and luxury features.
GM needs to come up with their own "ecoboost" in their large SUV's and trucks. The low end torque of the ecoboost tows like a diesel. I had 2016 F-150 with the smaller 2.7L ecoboost and it towed my 7000 lb Mastercraft XT23 MUCH better than my wife's Yukon XL Denali with the 6.2L motor!
It tows better than either of those with the ecoboost. My wife has Yukon Denali with 6.2L motor and I'd take the ecoboost any day over it. Even my 2.7L ecoboost F150 tows my 7000 lb Mastercraft MUCH better than the 6.2 in the Yukon does.
i'm sure the expedition will get it's V8 just like the raptor will too , yes in 2018 raptor will get 5.0 V8 ecoboost & this ifno came from inside ford company .
I am 67 years old and have owned Fords since I learned to drive. I tow a 7k lb travel trailer with my 13 Expedition. My V8 struggles sometimes. This will be my last Expedition because Ford has left me with nothing but a V6. I used to buy the Explorer but they left me there also when they started making it on a unibody car shell. Ford you and me are done.
my dad tows an 8000 pound camper with our 15 expedition. it doesn't struggle, the rpm stays down on hills, and it's been very reliable. i also was skeptical of the V6 but it has turned out to be a great engine for towing
the 13 expedition has the turd 5.4 which struggles under its own weight (i have an f150 with the 5.4) and seemingly uses the fuel to cool itself because i get 10.4 around town. the 3.5 ecoboost shits on the 5.4 atleast in power and mpg
That’s ridiculous- the V6 turbo is a superb engine compared to the old V8. 0-60 in 8.3 seconds is comparable to small fast hatchacks. Move with the times,
knightrider KR is still look nice & better lookin than the tahoe besides look at chevy 1500 & HD they are basically a 1994 models & camaro got the 60's back bumper lights .
I'm willing to bet if the Expedition was brake boosted it would have cut almost a whole second off the time.
That Expedition is pretty quick for what it is.
I would love to see some more real world towing, light off-road, and mpg tests! Thanks for all the hard work

I love the 3rd GEN of the Expedition! Nice review, new subscriber here👋
Just had one of these in Orlando. Absolutely loved it to bits - was really quick and comfortable. Would love one in the UK 😂
RichieT5 Gets upto 100mph/160kph pretty quickly from 75Mph/120kph too 😂
I wish yall tested the expedition with the 5.4 before they swapped to the v6
LOOKING GOOD FORD EXPEDITION
i love nathan's shirt
Maybe boost launch it next time
i cant wait for the 2017 expedition, it would be nice if they offered the ecoboost v6 plus a v8 or even an ecoboost v8
Would love to see a match up review between this and the Suburban/Yukon.
I love your videos ! Keep it up and thanks !
I mean who cares about zero to sixty in a boat? Show the inside, safety features etc.
cornell daniel We've already done that: th-cam.com/video/Nb_g0U515Oc/w-d-xo.html
I do, I want to know if i need to get out the way of something or merge on a freeway that this thing can hold its own.
cornell daniel You would be surprised about who cares about that when I pay 69,000 $ for a SUV I want to know every single thing about it 0 to 60 and topspeed everything.
Jonathan Washington But that's mid-range acceleration, not 0-60mph.
Johnny Barrett Surely the manufacturer supplies this information⁉️
Should do an off-road review
kent greene We considered that as well: th-cam.com/video/HN2iVgKDySo/w-d-xo.html
+The Fast Lane Truck it's not in 4wd
I love mine but had head and turbo work done at 155k so not very long for the world when our other 2 yr older exspidition has 200k with 5.4 no issues.
Should have done 0-60 in 4x4 to see the difference.
Break boost plus on 4H it will definatly help if im not mistaken ford has a safety feature in wich 4wheel drive is disengaged automatically at 40 or 45mph
Ruben Carbajal Jr. As far as I know you can drive as fast as you want in 4H.
I think doing the Ike Guantlet with you four gents and a trailer maximizing tow and payload limits would be a good test. It would show how the vehicle performs under worst case situations...food for thought.

Your high
How?
He means it's not happening.
Can you guys show off the increased interior room of the EL over the standard Expedition that you reviewed previously? Maybe fold down all of the rear seats and put Nathan back there to see if he thinks it's comfortable. :)
Do these come standard in 4WD? I believe they do but a second voice would help.
It's very good looking! And much more up to date. Only thing I don't like is the colour and the way the new exhaust pipe goes out. Doesn't look the best in my opinion!
You used to brake torque the start too. I'd be curious what those times would have been. Why did you stop using that method?
Pretty good for this heavy beast.
420 pound feet or torque and no wheel spin? Was it in 4x4?
can it do the 60-0 mph test too?
How about 0-60 with the trucks like you did for the Ike Gauntlet Golden Hitch? Or at least run the half-ton version against each other.
Hello,
I am wondering how does sea level affect the 0-60 acceleration?
The higher you are above sea level, air is less dense I believe
don't forgot that this is the platinum edition and this is mean it is the heaviest edition = the more light weght the more high speed
Nice job...can you try it again with the up/down shift mode??..and with/out 4WD??...thanks alot
Hey, great video guys! I was wondering if you can do comparison doing similar runs with a Suburban or Yukon XL/Denali? Thx!
you think its faster than the 05 limited edition 5.4l?
Um by far
Way faster. More power, and turbocharged! Plus better gas mileage.
True words Nathan!
what about acceleration while towing?
Ford should have put the 5.0L V8 like the one in the new F150 in this instead of the ecoboost.. I hope they at least make that an option for the 2017.
how tall is roman?
0-60 time not bad for a 2 story building!

murmaider2 The current Expo shares a modified version of the 2009-14 F-150 frame.
very heavily modified. The suspension setups are completely different
towing test anytime soon?
How is it off road?
What about Comparing 2wd to 4wd 0-60?
Looks like you are guys are quite heavy and the truck itself too. +1 sec to the 0-60 from empty to half-loaded truck. If you put smth to the trunk the time 0-60 will be somewhere 10 sec. Also interesting what would be 0-60 with a trailer.
My 2014 gives me like a 6.1 but it has a Turbo added.
Next yall should take it offroad!
Do a MPG run with 4 people on board.
your not mentioning that it's in 2wd
Dame look at the delay time when he mashed the gas it was few seconds before the truck started moving
you are a;so using the EL version which is heavier. and since its the platinum trim there has to be extra weight for all the safety and luxury features.
take it off road like real off road kinda like where you guys took the jeep and raptor
How about a highway mileage test.
do ppl still buy things like this ?
WWWOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW the 2015 expedition looks like the 2011-2012 WWWOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW NNEEXXTTTTT
68 thousand dollars?! Ford what gave you the delusion you were BMW?
Impressive. General Motors, make something NEW.

Didn't know Ford even still sold this. Never see them compared to Tahoe or Escalade.

الله يرزقنا مثله
Ford explorer and expedition vs chevy Tahoe and chevy suburban
i'm sure the expedition will get it's V8 just like the raptor will too , yes in 2018 raptor will get 5.0 V8 ecoboost & this ifno came from inside ford company .
mpg highway test!
That was the worse "close" ever he can he didnt want to do it !! Hahaha
That looked more like an ecoBust.
Hi
0-40 in 4 secs very very fast.
These are soooo fast
Id rather have the Bronco that the Expidition replaced.
Robert James Hey O.J. what's up?
#MoreThanJustBallast
Worst 0-60 execution ive ever seen.
"Mash the pedal" hahahaha
Its all about the drive I can go faster then that in my truck and it's stock 2000 Ford expedition
It's a 4 seater, huh.
It's a seven seater.
put it in 4wd

Why cause that ecoboost will put the old v8 that ford used to shame.
the ecoboost makes way more power and way more torque than the old 5.4 and it makes that torque down around 2000rpm.
SAAB!!!!
El South Side yeah ford pulled their tech booooom eco boost
0-60,for what,doesn't even make sense,smh...
Why is Ford starting to make vehicles to look old?
knightrider KR is still look nice & better lookin than the tahoe besides look at chevy 1500 & HD they are basically a 1994 models & camaro got the 60's back bumper lights .
off road performance
8.30 seconds
Ike gauntlet
Is it me or it sounds like a V8
Maxime platordu92@hotmail.fr If you had 1,000 pounds on your back, I'm sure you'd sound like a V8 too :D
it looks so dated....
Still looks the same
Well done ford. It looks more bland and faceless than ever!
Superslow
They should’ve put the coyote engine instead
