- Following the first drive review of the Mahindra Thar Roxx, we were supposed to fly from Kochi back to our home cities. On a whim, we decided to swap wings for wheels and take the Mahindra Thar Roxx home directly and vlogged the journey back to share it with you. The trip took us from Kerala to Tamil Nadu to Karnataka and finally to Maharashtra. On board are four people with a full luggage load with the aim of making it back home before the weekend.

A straightforward question,
Should I buy diesel of it for 15-20 years ?
1. Maruti has stopped diesel but Tata, Mahindra are behaving like rebels with diesel variants.
2. Also the Nautanki from Govt is everlasting. You must have whispered with someone credible at various launches about BS7 drama.
3. Minister wants to barter Diesel with Gold bars or Kidneys, Brains (at least a dozen at every refill)
4. I don't want to have that feeling, when Govt forces to part with your car because of fake Pollution data. And the onus lies on diesel car owners only. It's a hard earned money.
Mixing this Data together, plz reply a straight forward answer. Yes or No ?
The straightforward answer unfortunately isn’t so straightforward.
Does buying a diesel make sense? Yes, they can deliver a great balance of driveability and efficiency. But the government’s stance doesn’t favour diesels and it’s no secret.
If that manifests as more taxes or higher prices for diesels owing to regulations that’s one limitation.
If it extends to restrictions on the use of diesel cars is something we can’t predict.
So, yes, it’s not that diesels have stopped making sense. But there is an air of uncertainty about their future which doesn’t apply to other fuel types
Suggest which variant i can book of Thar Roxx as per my requirement some confusion please give your opinions
1-My running 10-15 km daily in city total 7000-10000 yearly including highway trip.
2-Location -Delhi NCR
3 MX3AT petrol,MX5MT petrol or MX5 MT Diesel.

MX5 Petrol should be a good variant for you. However, we would highly recommend the AT transmission if your city has heavy traffic density.
If you guys had to do the same trip all over again on scorpio n ,would it be better than thar roxx ?mainly travel comfort?
The seat comfort and practicality would be better in the Scorpio N but the rear seat ride in particular isn’t notably better than the Roxx

I placed a booking this morning, and trying to convince my wife 😂
Compared to Scorpio N how was ride quality? We took a 50km test drive of SN and wife was not impressed by the ride quality in rear seat.
Hahahaha, no embargo, just an edit caught up in multiple shoots that followed this travelogue. As for the ride, if your wife was not impressed with the ride in the ScorpioN, the Thar Roxx won’t feel significantly different

Looks like uncomfortable ride in Thar Roxx.
If you need comfort rides, go for Sedans.
If you want bigger cars to satisfy your ego on road - then buy Boxy, psuedo, jacked up cross over hatchbacks called as SUVs.
Ppl forget one thing...its still jeep. Means tide won't be that smooth
Big deal.. drive 24 hours solo non stop from Kanyakumari to Navi Mumbai in a manual car after a 4.5 day onward trip.. many 20 plus hours plus trips.. big deal again!

During my drive of the Roxx i found the ADAS braking too intrusive. Had to turn it off.

@@zigwheels but iam a fan of how this thing glides over bumps/creases/some potholes with impunity. That's what made me smile. Also, it put up weight but didn't lack in pull. Suspension was a massive improvement over the three door it's quite noticeable. Also choco brown interior is a better choice. I was also happy that the quality or rear view camera improved by miles over the crappy XUV700 and Scorpio N camera

What do you expect? It's a Body on Frame platform and NOT a Monocoque.
Compared to other road biased SUVs, definitely not. An XUV700 will be much more comfortable but that’s by design as they’re supposed to cater to different needs

Thar roxx is a modified version of bolero classic. Not great from side look.. just dabba view.. noise inside the cabin audible in the video.. only marketing gimmicks going on about this vehicle.. Already many are crying with XUV 700 n 3XO... Now add this to the list.. 😂😂😂
