    Me: *silently armchair critiquing your drive*
    You: makes final pass and get to drive with open road
    You: widen gap on every turn
    Me: "Okay, I need to shut up and pay attention."
    Love these videos. Thank you again.

    What a racetrack.... Man I wish someone would build a track in the hills here.

    Man this car sounds bloody good… lovely vid.
    I ended up getting a 25 row oil rad but to put by the fog lights as you said space up top was tight!
    May be a mistake 😅
    Will keep posted!
    Cheers

      I remember talking to a guy who races them and he did the same thing but split two smaller rads across each side (behind the fogs). Probably a good place for them really, there is already a lot going on up top heat wise!
      You’ll have to post some track footage once your done and see how it goes! As you can see, mine was getting hot here. But it was hot outside and I was doing long sessions so nothing out the ordinary.

    That track is awesome and super driving! Want to go there some time...
    I see that your Water-Temps been rising at the end of the Video. What was the Outdoor-Temperatur on that day?
    I also have the "problem" with the Oil-Cooler that the water is rising more and more...

      Thanks! It’s a superb track, the videos don’t do it justice!
      I run an external oil cooler now (albeit a small one) so the standard oil/ coolant heat exchanger has been replaced with a sandwich plate. The ambient temp was around 30 degrees so about as hot as it gets in the UK. This was the second half of a long session so I wasn’t overly concerned about the temps but it was certainly getting hot!

      @@Richard1637 yeah i believe! 🙌🏻
      Got the same spec. But a big 14 row oil cooler and noticed that water and oil gets hotter and hotter. But when it’s under 20-25 Degrees it’s working perfectly ✌🏻

    Hello, what a lovely car! What oil brand are you running? And what gauge display are you using in the vid? Did u install a lsd?

    • @Richard1637
      @Richard1637  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Phil, possibly fuchs titan supersyn 5w-40. The car does no more than 5k miles between oil and filter changes but I’m not picky on brand as long as it’s clean and to spec.
      I made the display my self and this takes care of all the logging.
      no LSD, it’s got BMW’s “e diff” which does its best to imitate one, but I would love to fit a proper LSD eventually. If the clutch fails/ any other reason to take the box off arises I’ll probably go for it then.

    Mate I’ve recently bought an r56 for me and my boy to track what are you using for all the coolant temp oil temp info looks superb as I don’t really want to chuck gauges and stuff in thanks Jase

    • @Richard1637
      @Richard1637  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I ended up making my own data logger which pulls all the data off the can bus, it was quite a big job in the end. For oil temp I had to add my own oil temp sensor and read/ decode the info on the logger. I then use race render to create the overlays.

      @@Richard1637 wow that sounds superb and technical thanks for replying fella I was hoping there was a unit that run off the obd to give coverage of the fields needed ie oil temp coolant temp I’ll just have to go old skool and fit some in 🤦🏻😂
      Thanks again

    Hello, Nice ! I have a question regarding engine temp, i have a r55 jcw but my temp is arround 106/107, and yours arround 100, did you modify smth in order to have « low » temp ?

    • @dav_
      @dav_ ปีที่แล้ว

      And arround 80C in another or your video

    • @Richard1637
      @Richard1637  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it depends on the ambient temp for sure, but the stock heat exchanger routes the oil and coolant through the same block so separating these should definitely help!

    Great video, is this a standard suspension set up?

    • @Richard1637
      @Richard1637  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, no it’s on meisterR CRD + rear adjustable control arms then geometry set at -2 front camber parallel toe, -1.5 rear camber. The CRDs are pretty softly sprung compared to others but I personally really like them, the car feels great and they are fine for road use too. The parallel toe up front improved turn in dramatically.

    • @Richard1637
      @Richard1637  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@panoszeris874 mine has been happy at that power for ~40k miles + track days. The car is on ~100k miles now and original clutch and turbo. It depends a lot on the map and many other factors including driving style. 22psi is fairly standard on JCW N18. I would describe the power delivery on mine as fairly tame/ linear compared to some tunes on these cars.
