    They even teach you when you’re learning to drive “run off, stay off” don’t try and rejoin the road

    Yep...That's when anyone with any sense would simply straighten the wheel and cut across grass.

      It was lift off oversteer. At this point he couldnt do anything about it. There was no room left to correct.

      @@Gentleman...Driver It was understeer, not lift off oversteer. The back of the car was planted. The back only let go very late on when he got the right rear on the grass. When you understeer that far off line and that late in the corner you need to give the corner up and cut the grass

      @@ianbrown9082 You are right, I watched the video again. He had to go on the grass. I agree with you. Once he was committed, he hit the brakes really hard, and thats where his back went lose. At this point he couldnt do anything.

      @@Gentleman...Driver Thanks matey...He just came in too hot and you can hear the front tyres screaming in protest. I find it really odd that he didn't turn the wheel at all...A few tenths of a second before he hits the wall he starts to think 'Hmmm...I need to turn the wheel to the right'.
      With all these things you've got to react QUICK and react the right way (and not overreact) otherwise you're toast. As you know, it all comes with practice

      That and braking whilst the rear wasn't planted fully.

    Build up slowly to a speed you and your car can handle? That way, if the car gets out of shape, it’ll only be a little bit, and you’ll learn how to handle it.
    If you bin it, stay in your car?
    Don’t walk on the track!
    Don’t collect your debris.

      what should he be wearing? 99% of people at trackdays are in normal clothes.

      You've clearly never been on a track day

    • @Scratiznutz
      @Scratiznutz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChrisMisMYhandle Actually, yes I have, many times.
      Of course there are many who wear standard clothes in a track day, because driving at high speeds won't end up with a potential (and avoidable) injury when you crash 🙄
      Why is it necessary for Motorsport competitors to wear protective gear?
      Is it possibly because it could prevent some injuries, or are they bring silly and disregard protective clothing just like these guys?

    • @Scratiznutz
      @Scratiznutz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MikeSmith-rd9fi I've always worn the correct protective gear, just like anybody throwing their cars around a track should do, though most of the time, it's been single seated vehicles.
      The gear is there for a reason.
