  • Good day at Cadwell Park for the first track day of 2023. Struggled to get into a rhythm this time round and was down on pace from my previous visit. Car is still suffering from "surging" acceleration around 3-5K RPM which is noticeable in this video. This needs addressing before next track day.

Very nice mate I’m off to Cadwell in my R56 S end of feb! Looking forward to it.
Very impressed with the coolant temps on yours ! Very low especially getting hammered round the track !

Thanks mate, it’s such a good track. I’m hoping to get back there this year for sure. I’m running an external oil cooler on mine so the coolant and oil are no longer running through the same heat exchanger, hence the steady coolant temps.

I have a 2013 heavily modified R56, stage 3 rn, running about 21psi. I hope i can get on a track at some point in my life. This looks awesome!

Thanks Lee. It's a display/ data logger I made my self. Similar to an 'Ultra Gauge' except it can log data to an SD card (that's where I get my data overlay). The display is a 3.5" Nextion and the control board is STM32 based. The enclosure/ mount is 3D printed.

Is it surging acceleration or clutch slip? I've got a similar symptom on my N18 Countryman S on my stage 2 tune.

It’s definitely not clutch slip. A friend of mine has the same issue on his N18 copper S too. It drives absolutely fine it’s just annoying and mine definitely didn’t use to do it as you can see in previous vids.
I’ve checked all the basics so going to do some more in depth logs of EGT, AFR and fuel trims etc and see how that looks.

@@Richard1637 Interesting. Mine didn’t do it prior to tuning, but it does it now. It’s incredibly annoying. I sometimes wonder if it’s something to do with the linear throttle mapping. I need to do some logging to see what is happening.
