Hey Rob, Thanks for watching! No grandios travel plans as of yet. Dale and I really enjoy trail running and hope to use the camper to add some variety to our scenery. In the future I'd love to travel the gulf coast to the Florida keys, or out west and down into Baja Mexico.
WOW!!!! REALLY WANT TO THANK YOU!!! I am very new to this but please tell me the things to do what you do with starting with the reson you use ect thx!
Really enjoying this build Jake, top effort mate. I don't know if it's just my device but I've got 2 black strips down the sides of the video like it's in the wrong aspect ratio for TH-cam?
Thanks for watching! Also good eye, I am working from a new editing computer and did not have my export settings correct. I'll have it dialed for the next video!
The project looks great and I love your energy. Is there a video you explain your terms fully? I've watched 4 or 5 but I'm not certain what type of fiberglass you're using. Not sure what micro is? Or what the epoxy you're using is.
Thanks for watching! Im mostly using a 6oz/sq yd 2532 cloth. There are tons of different weaves out there, I chose this one based on cost and availability. Micro is microballoon glass filler mixed with epoxy to the desired consistency . Epoxy is well, just epoxy. you will want a low viscosity product designed for laminating. Do some googling on "composite basics" "thatyercraft" and "uscomposites" and soak in as much as you can. That should get you started.
I'm just learning about fiberglass, I see you using the micro to bond bare foam but can you also use it to bond fiberglassed pieces together? I want to build one like yours with a cabover section and maybe a double rear hatch that folds down for a platform and up to create a small awning.
Micro will absolutely bond glass to glass. Just make sure and prep to an 80 grit finish first. check out cotton flock for a more structural filler, its strong as heck, but harder to make look good.
I’m thoroughly enjoying this build. Thanks for posting
Thanks for watching Luke. Glad you enjoy it!
That mount was niiiiiiiiice
Thanks dawg!
I wonder why no one works with him, but real impressive build, love the lightness, instead of heavy wood.
I prefer to work alone, I can be somewhat hard to be around at times :) Final weight coming soon!
Just found your channel today and subbed. Im really diggin the foam camper. Ill be binge watching to catch up. Great job! 👍🏻

Hey Jay I got a question for you where'd you get your hinges for the back tail lift
I designed/built the hinges in the shop. They are covered in one of the build videos.
What is the product your refering to as " micro".... TIA
"Micro" is the slang for epoxy mixed with 3m glass micro balloon filler.
