    This reminds me of my recent boot process. I asked you in the GT video about them and fitting wide feet vs vapor. Had a vapor prior and over time, it felt good. I got both to give them a shot. GT were comfortable at first, but for some reason, I kept coming back to the vapors even though it was not comfortable at first when breaking in for my very wide feet. Pinching on the outside of each of my forefoots and heels were uncomfortable. But after about 2 hours (like you said) it was perfect. Something about these vapors that I love and going back to the GTs, we’re as in love with them. So made the choice to go with the vapors! Funny because your process is similar to my process, to a T.

      Exactly mate! I was thrilled Nike was making a "wide" boot but it definitely didn't fit as well over time as the Vapor... Classic Nike switching things up. I'm glad you found a pair of boots you like!

    Hi Noah! Have been watching a couple of your videos lately, they're class! Just wondering if I could get your thoughts on this problem. I'm currently on the lookout for new boots. I believe I almost have the same foot type as you judging from what you've said in some of your other videos. Tried on the Puma ultras today, and they fit me great. But, the mercurial has always been a sort of "dream boot" of mine, which I've always looked past because of the thought of it being too narrow for me. This video got me thinking, would you rather break in a pair of mercurials or play in the Puma ultras if you had gotten yours?

    • @NoahCavanaugh
      @NoahCavanaugh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! I did end up getting my actual size in the Ultras and they fit very well... that being said, I’m really used to the way the vapors fit and I really love how the current generation fit! To be honest, if someone were to give me a free pair, I’d be super happy with either one! At the end of the day, right now I like how the mercurials fit my foot a tiny bit better and I think they look absolutely class.

    Hi bro; great videos. I read below you go half size bigger than other models. How is the lengh of this boots compared with the puma ultra?

    • @NoahCavanaugh
      @NoahCavanaugh  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question! I'd say they both fit true to size, I just went up 1/2 size for the vapors so that it was easier to break in for my wide feet! If you have skinny/thinner feet, go true to size!

    Quality content. You told us everything we needed to know. Would the hot water trick do any damage to the Vapor 13's ?

    • @NoahCavanaugh
      @NoahCavanaugh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t usually recommend that just because hot water can compromise the construction of any boot, but if you don’t have a problem with it, it’s a great way to break them in!

    • @NoahCavanaugh
      @NoahCavanaugh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd recommend hanging in there for a bit longer - maybe a week or so. If they are still hurting your feet after that, I'd consider trying something else! I've heard that same complaint from quite a few people with the GTs, not sure where it comes from but perhaps the heel just isn't the right shape for your foot!

    Do you go half a size up ?.. also do you have any tips for mental strength?.. I do a lot of footwork drills and have no problem doing step overs but in actual games or training sessions with my team I don’t feel as confident and feel like I am going to mess up and I just don’t do what comes to my head.. do you have any tips ?.

    • @reloading4439
      @reloading4439 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had this problem a year ago I would be scared of doing step overs and skills moves so what I did was during possession I would ball hog a little so I can be more confident. I would try to do a step over and beat a defender or two then pass the ball. During games, just do the move. If you lose the ball just get it back. Don’t worry abt losing possession you gotta keep doing the moves so you aren’t scared.

      @@edwin5091 yes now when I have the opportunity to take a defender 1v1 I take it and normally beat the defender. If I’ve been denied a few times I’ll try to stall so my outside back can overlap me

    • @NoahCavanaugh
      @NoahCavanaugh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! These are a US 9.5 instead of my usual size 9 that I would wear in the Ultra, Phantom GT, etc! That’s just because the vapor fits so snugly.
      Mental strength is a HUGE deal, and I’ve struggled with that as well! I’ll probably make a longer video on this topic but I would say the first thing to do is try and train with other people as often as possible and do 1v1s and small sided games where you can try all the skills you’ve been practicing! Especially in those scenarios, it’s easy for a defender to anticipate what you’ll do if you don’t switch it up! Use it as an opportunity to test out and train new skills in a competitive environment with “no stakes” (i.e. not playing in front of anyone you need to impress). Does that make sense? It’s a tough one for sure but it’s important to stay positive and strong 💪🏼 be awesome!!

    Do you find it hard that you take football extremely seriously as it’s your life and job while others on your team it’s not their full time job and might have 3-4 things that come before soccer... love the vids

    • @NoahCavanaugh
      @NoahCavanaugh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I am thrilled you brought this up brother, thank you. Yes, all the time. It’s very frustrating but it also motivates me to move up into leagues where players are only worried about football (or like me, they do football full time and then have a side hustle or two). At the end of the day, I have to focus on myself and taking my career to the next level. If that means switching teams every year or just ignoring the fact that others don’t take it seriously... either way I have to focus on myself!

      Recover and break in the boots without your legs meaning: just use hot water, fill in the boots with old clothes, and etc. Most of the boots that cause these are either academy or club because it’s stiff and academy or club are good for the people who know how to use them not anyone who is a beginner in football so yh use the tips I mentioned and you may have a good restart
