    Nice playing and a nice fretless bass!Did you use more the bridge pickup or no?

      On this bass, I use full volume on both pickups with a center blend. The piezo is turned up to about 3 o'clock and the piezo blend is at around half.

      Thank you! I've never really had too much experience with fretless either. Enough to play with only a few intonation flaws at least. It came pretty easily for me to get where I am on it right now.

    What bass would you rexcomend for old school death metal and also which strings are these they sound amazing

      @@hitreglemon you could get a bunch of different models it depends on the price range. If you're focused on speed, esp basses are usually made with thinner necks. If you're looking for a kind of crunch in pickup sound, Yamaha trbx models have the ability to get some pj crunch out of them. There are a lot of routes to take! I prefer Spector basses among the lot.
      These strings are d'addario flat wound strings; less crunch more smooth for this fretless bass

    What strings do you use for your fretless? Great video 🍻🍻

      I use nickel plated strings now. But for this particular video, the bass has flat wound strings

      @@alexanderfarrington_bass with the nickel plated strings do you feel you get way more brightness on your fretless?

    • @alexanderfarrington_bass
      @alexanderfarrington_bass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@noxisofficial295 brightness does get added. I especially enjoy contact sound of my basses which is why I typically use DR High Beams. But they don't make them in 6 string sets. But yeah, I get more brightness and more finger attack with nickel wound strings. With round wounds and other such strings, you get more of an even and subtle tone. People are also scared to put nickel strings on fretless necks but the scratches won't effect the integrity of the instrument for years if properly wiped down.

      Ha we're alex webster fans so I as well use DR High Beams, so that's cool to know! I saw that people were freaking out too and was worried but glad to see it's no biggie. I've been wanting to add fretless to the band and have been trying to research for a good string set. Most of the bassists that I cherrish/respect who use a fretless in Death Metal do not use Flatwound either. Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it! Love the videos, keep killing it bro!

      @@noxisofficial295 thanks dude! Totally. And I had those concerns as well. A renowned lutheir here in indy comforted me on that knowledge with the fretboard as well.
