Lovely quiet spot you’ve picked there Kev, often drive over the bridges and think it looks worth a go, love your videos because it’s not all about fish size 👍
You certainly have got plenty of river and canal fishing around you Kevin.Once again the Thames has been ruined by the amount of rain we have had already this winter. Thats 4 out of the last 5 winters that have been a total waste of time. Look forward to the next one mate
Hi Neil, we are very lucky here with the amount of water available. We still have to pick and chose fishing days carefully though, lots of days where it's unfishable.
Soar is insane all the way through the system. They keep attacking it but it come back with vengence (See Canal and River Trust YT vid. complete with special boats😲) I took a walk up the canal at Loughborough last Nov. Just on the edge of town it was about touching in the middle from both banks. At the start of the year (after the floods) I watched rafts of the stuff from Victoria Embankment heading downstream. You could even see it wrapped around the seats were the floodwater had left it. Regardless of the local water woes I enjoyed the vid. Whip fishing is my fav. and I have 2 in my kit.
@nottsfishingkbtv402 Thank you. Lived in Derby for 11years and fished the Trent, Derwent and Trent and Mersey canal. I took some of the Notts Fed Team to Ireland on behalf of the old NFA. Ted Stokes, Colin Perry, Roy Toulson, Pete Palmer and Don Slaymaker. All gentleman and great anglers. Learnt so much. I live in Kent now so fish more lakes than rivers and canals. Really miss moving water but still have my John Dean stick floats!
How on earth has American Pennywort managed to get into The Notts and Beaston cut? It has coursed the whole waterway on the Soar/Trent from its introduction near Aylstone, Leics through to the Humber but where you are fishing is beyond a lock, upstream of the Trent? Along with signal crays and zebra mussels (not seen mitten crabs yet) it is causing damage to our waterways.

Thanks Alan, hopefully these films encourage anglers to have a go, sometimes we forget how good our local venues can be. Best wishes.
Reminds me of fishing the club winter league on that stretch. Back in the 90s.
Good memories. Notts Fed still run matches on there so you could still have a go David.

Thx Kev 👍👍
Your welcome Stegrundy4014. Thanks for watching.
Its come from the Soar mate via the boats i would imagine.
Beeston canal is full of it.
The Soar is getting choked
Maybe the EA or Canal and Rivers Trust could help with managing it.

Any pike round that stretch Kev?
Yes, lots of predator anglers though so a few may end up on the dinner plate.
@ yeah to many ending up in the pot!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Thank you for watching David, glad you liked it. Hope to film on the Canal again soon.
@nottsfishingkbtv402 Thank you.

I get lots of big bream there it's my local
Do you get these on bread punch? Do you feed hemp?

It soon spreads, birds, boats, anglers can transfer it. It has probably worked it's way from Beeston Lock end.
@@nottsfishingkbtv402 Of course, my bad - I'm thinking the entrance to that bit of canal is upstream of the Soar confluence.
Bread punch is better there
Thinking of filming a few bread punch sessions so good to know. Thanks Mark.
I've had perch there to 4lb
Wow, 4lb is a monster, on worms?
