I've really learnt to fall back on the FX30.
I do a lot of niche POV walk type content and while I prefer the FX3 and GM 14 and the RS3 Pro, it's not good for urban work. Too disruptive.
Enter the FX30 with the teeny 11mm and Crane M3S. It's cheap, sharp, and if I happen to get mugged I'm out a lot less money. A lot lot less.
Whoever is running the FX program at Sony is going a fine job. Not a perfect job but fine enough.

Awesome review! Would you use the FX30 or A7cii for video podcasts up to 45 mins? Or the s5iix?
As far as Sony fx30 hands down as the a7c overheats for long recording times which you will totally do with a podcast

Hey! So yes and no, it really depends on how far away they are from the camera, the further away the less distorted, the closer they are the more distorted. It can be done though, my preference is really the sigma 18-50 because it’s less distorted and more versatile but is limited to f2.8 vs 1.4
I LOVE my FX30. It's a tank, and I have zero complaints. I may get an FX3 someday, but I love the super 35 look.

thanks! I am just because ive been able to get setups much smaller and higher quality than the equivalent canon options. If Canon had more options like sigma lenses for RF i would have totally stayed in the canon ecosystem
*I have the FX30, bought it back in March of Last Year, and I've been shooting in 4K/60 but I've been using the Sony Tough Card and Lexar's but All v60's, if I'm shooting in 60fps would I need to upgrade too the V90? or just keep with what I have?*
You can film 60 at v90 cards but with the S-I you will need cfexpress A
The lens you used to make this video distorts.
Does the fx30 have anamorphic 1.5 or 2.0 squeeze?
