India Ramps Up Infrastructure In Arunachal To Deter China

- India is pushing border development infrastructure along the northern sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) at a rate that has not been seen before. Figures from Parliament show that 2,000 kilometers of road have been built across the LAC at an allocated spending of Rs 15,000 cr -- a big jump over the previous five years - along with 60 more strategic roads expected by March this year. This spending is a bid to refocus India’s efforts along the LAC and especially in Arunachal Pradesh, as military analysts believe the state is the next target by China to keep India off balance in 2023, as the recent clash between the two sides in Yangtse in the Tawang sector showed. Tawang is seen by China as part of southern Tibet and India must expect more incidents going forward. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh showed India’s readiness in his recent visit to Tawang where he inaugurated 28 key border infrastructure projects worth Rs 724 crore along with a strategically important bridge over the Siyom river that will be capable of ferrying tanks and artillery guns. The Siyom bridge is a 100-meter, ‘Class-70’ steel arch superstructure constructed on the Along-Yingkiong road and is crucial for Indian troops. Along with this, the BRO has also recently created a road up to the LAC border post ensuring India is prepared to meet the China challenge in Arunachal.

Thank you Nitin Sir, for this very informative, easy to understand format presentation of this strategically important issue for all Indians. It is heartening to notice that the Govt of the day has realized the importance of strengthening our border infrastructure especially in facilitating our dedicated military but also in helping the local populations with their daily needs of food, health, education and employment opportunities. That's indeed great to know sir! Expecting India to also focus on implementing crucial Railway projects in Assam-Arunachal Foothills, specially the Murkongselek- Pasighat- Tezu- Rupai Railway line as well as the Railway line upto Tawang. These 2 lines are very critical.
Just one issue with the info.- I have found all ALGs in Arunachal except Tawang. Couldn't locate the Tawang ALG yet.

January to March nothing happens.
They cannot strike anywhere at any time. They have certain windows within which to operate and only at specific locations.
Next clash would be in Ladakh, failing that Arunachal towards the end of the year.

Great to hear about these developents; finally India taking more aggressive approach with more concrete strategy under Modi Govt. instead of dilly-dallying for decades. One thing I noticed that there is very little mechanization of loading into trucks, soldiers using hand to load boxes. Why not use forklift with palletted supplies and shrink wrap? It will be super fast. I am sure Chinese are automating the heck out. They deployed so quickly too. India still much behind in some very basic tasks. I sometimes wonder what the military leadership does all day and has been doing. Whiskey ka peg lagaa do club mein.
Atleast defence is utilising there BUDGET 🙏🙏🙏

The indians for a long time thought by leaving the mountains and forests untouched, it will act as natural barrier for the Chinese to intrude. But the chinese relentlessly developed infrastructure in tibet plateau and up to indian border. They can bring large troops and weapons quickly to the indian border any time.
But the indians did not do anything on their side making difficult for Indian troops to patrol up to tibet border.
Most of the time , indians do foot patrol walking in dirt tracks carrying basic rifle . Even before reaching tibet border they were stopped and send back by chinese. This had been going for many years.
Basic is u so akso govt is defebsive. When will u as analyst and govt will be pro-active? Your comments and change of mindset appreciated.tks

Government is doing wonderful job there. Two aspects are let congress remain out of power failing which they will stop all developmental activities to help China. Secondly, India must be in a position to,protect our infrastructure in times of conflict. Surely China will blow our tunnels and bridges if it manages to intrude or by air. Of course we can and should retaliate in a similar way destroying innumerable infrastructural develoomemts in Tibet.
