Thanks to SNG, Amitabh Revi and the camera crew, for this amazing presentation of the Leh airfield set in mountainous landscape, and the overview of Air Force operations handled there. But this airfield is well more than just a military base, as this video shows. The visit to the Tibetan Buddhist monastery painted in red, yellow and white and its library of scrolls and 'tangkhas,' as well as the stupa were also fascinating and unique. The life-size cut-out of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, inside the monastery attests to its significance as a hub of Tibetan Buddhist culture. Wonderful to meet some crew members of the choppers that are the lifeline for troops deployed in the Siachen glacier and its environs! The azure skies, as well as the opening and closing shots of the sliver-moon in the twilight, with the silhouette of a flying crane, and then an airborne chopper, against this backdrop, certainly added an artistic touch to the video!
Top of the line production... kudos to the SNG Team... thrilling and informative. Reminded me of my days flying the good ole Cheetah in Ladakh and Glacier.

As a business owner and an Indian I'd be keen to invest in this area if the govt. can come up with an investment strategy for civilians. Just developing army installations will become very costly without developing the tourism potential. Dual use infra development should be the goal

China believes India is a strategic threat to China's integrity. India has demonstrated it's capability by deploying Tibetan armed unit during galwan clash and occupying kailash range.
It's an understatement to call Sqn 114 personnel brave. And the same applies to the people from Sqn 21 and Sqn 3 (Operating Mig-21 Bis) also. In fact I would call these people crazy/insanely brave to be flying these relic machines in such extreme terrains. The air force keeps talking about the agility and robustness of Chetah and Mig-21 whenever an accident happens to justify their continued use but I am pretty sure everyone wants to see these machines decomissioned asap. Air force certainly demands a lot and these people deserve all the respect, appreciation and credit for this. Jai hind.
