    "We have a robust defensive posture"......this means that the honorable Chief is stating that the IA's ability to launch offensive actions anywhere on the LAC is pretty limited, if not absent. Getting the PLA out of the 1000 sq km area that it has captured is now impossible. The Indian establishment has sadly accepted it as a fait accompli!

    • @death_parade
      @death_parade ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You talk as if the fait accompli is recent. That happened back in 1962. Since then IA's defensive posture has managed to beat back any and all Chinese attempts at serious land grab. And thus no major changes have occurred on the LAC.
      You talk of lack of capability to launch an offensive across the LAC. Anyone with even a modicum of understanding of understanding of IA's ORBAT knows about the existence of the XVII Mountain Strike Corps. Its obvious that the capability now exists. And it is also blatantly obvious that just a single Strike Corps is not enough to reverse the fait accompli of 1959-62 i.e. recapture Aksai Chin. Which is why the Strike Corps has been positioned for counteroffensives on the North-Eastern front.
      Anybody who looks at the kind of terrain, orbats of either Armed Forces (Indian or Chinese) and the kind of military industry and budgets supporting either Armed Forces will come to the conclusion that a defensive posture with limited offensive capability serves India best. Nobody wants to harbour delusions of grandeur of retaking Tibet and then fail in the spectacular fashion Russians (supposedly) failed in Ukraine. Moreover, there is no political directive to the Indian Army to plan for retaking Aksai Chin or Tibet. Before barking up the wrong tree, maybe you should ask the Government of India to come out with a National Security Document?

    • @actioergosum5193
      @actioergosum5193 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@death_parade Retaking Aksai Chin and Tibet is a pipe dream that should not be considered given the glaring asymmetries between the IA and the PLA, some of which you highlight and acknowledge. The fait accompli that I am talking about is the 1000 sq km of Indian territory, the loss of grazing lands, and the creation of buffer zones largely on the Indian side of the "perceived" LAC - since the PLA's ingressions in 2020. I am not going back to 60 years. Barring the so-called occupation of the Kailash ranges (which were tragically pawned away later), there has been no offensive action by the IA to even open up access to the earlier patrolling points that were available to the IA and which the PLA has denied since 2020. I am not giving a clean chit to the GoI in anyway. The entire politico-military dispensation in India needs to accept responsibility for the abject state of affairs.

    • @death_parade
      @death_parade ปีที่แล้ว

      @@actioergosum5193 The 1000 sq km of land "lost" is yet to be located by me despite my efforts at keeping up with the maps.
      Not that it matters anyways because these can be retaken during a future Indo-China war that _will_ happen (China can already feel the gap between our capabilities bridging).

    • @ganesannarayanan2047
      @ganesannarayanan2047 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a political decision. Not correct to point at the IA. Our forces have the ability and motivation to do the needful once a political decision is made.

    • @actioergosum5193
      @actioergosum5193 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ganesannarayanan2047 The first step towards becoming a stronger nation is to honestly assess and accept one’s weaknesses and shortcomings instead of engaging in misplaced bluster. The IA is simply in no shape to mount and sustain any offensive action on the Chinese side of the LAC. If it had been possible, it would already have been done by now!

    Agniveer is a great concept that is going to energise the youth of India and instill in them a sense of discipline, duty, goal directed thinking, sense of belonging to the nation and patriotism and extracurricular training as a further bonus. These guys will be in demand in civilian companies and organisations even after that military training is over. We have seen these programmes in most of European countries and they work very well. Who would you chose to work and lead your company if you had to chose between an ex agniveer and a non agniveer person? Do you want a disciplined, motivated and a trained person or a person with just book knowledge?

    Induction of Women into Artillery is the most illogical step,which both the Indian Army and India 🇮🇳 will soon come to regret. If The government is so fixed about introduction of women into the army and gender parity game ,why is is not introducing women in the ground level at the sepoy level..and also as agniveers .Full marks on rebalancing force levels towards the northern and eastern borders..

      Perhaps, the majority of the drones we have are American and Israeli, more Israeli than American. However, it seems that India also has many enterprises that produce military drones. Are the majority of them joint ventures with overseas enterprises? Do these Indian enterprises all have access to overseas drone technologies? I don't think so. India is exporting missiles, aircraft, and it will also export rifles in the future, but it doesn't seem to be exporting drones.

    Thanks for very informative discussion. India would be 2023 host of prestigious G20 with various G20 meetings planned all over India including in J&K and Pakistan will target J&K with terrorists to highlight that J&K is still unsettled. India must preempt that with artillery brush fires across LoC to destroy terrorist launch pads on the Pakistani side. That will also keep Pakistani army locked up in J&K which will give added advantage of relieving pressure on TTP which has joined hands with Baloch freedom fighters to bifurcate Pakistan. India must aim for that strategic gain which would be achievable in view of financially collapsing Pakistan.
