I highly recommend glueing the foam to the rim first. also with a sanding drum and a dremel, give the area to be glued on the tire a quick light sand then clean with simple green. It’s also a good idea not to paint the area to be glued for best bonding.
For a very high speed application I would generally take more care. Given the promoto is a 2s and maxes out around 40mph I am not overly concerned with getting the absolute maximum adhesion out of it, and havent had any issues yet.
I tried putting the rear tire rubber in the trench, but soon as I got to the end it’s just popping out it’s not tight enough
What kind of glue were you using?
@@NHO-RC haven’t even attempted to glue… but I have same as what you used, I don’t want it to look like shit
Ah ok, yeah double check your foam all the way around and make sure you dont have any major imperfections. Once the whole thing is seated near properly you should be able to get the rubber to kind of pop down into the channel some and stay there, if you manipulate too much tire at once you run the risk of messing it up elsewhere which is why I only pull an inch or two up at a time.
What is your thought on aluminum rims
They certainly look very nice but Ive seen reports quite a few people have bent the spokes on the original plastic ones. I generally think the engineers who designed the promoto knew this and built it this way intentionally as a part that is very easy to replace. I'd rather replace rims then break something much harder to change deeper in the bike
why not turn the tire inside out.?
Didn't really need to these are pretty easy.
