That's simply not true. He's even said so. His style isn't anywhere close to Arch Enemy's style of writing and they have an established "sound." Hate on Arch Enemy all you want but it's blatantly obvious that he's not a good fit for them. He's simply a hired hand for solos, and he DOES write material for them. He may not write whole songs but he does write leads for them. Also, Mike, Angela and Alissa have stated that on the next album, which should be out in 2019 or so, Jeff will be writing songs. Whether they'll get used we'll have to wait and see.
I will say, I used to be a die-hard Arch Enemy fan back in the days of Doomsday Machine and Wages of Sin but their new stuff with Alissa sucks. The music all sounds the same and though her voice is great, her lyrics are mediocre at best. I miss Angela and Johan Liiva.
Loomis should permanently do something with Keith Merrow...Conquering Distopia with a kick ass vocalist will be straight edge!!!
There hasn't been new material written for AE since Jeff joined - he is currently a glorified session musician until they start writing the next album. Besides that, the album that JATO unit is on was released WAY before Jeff was in AE.

Only reason he is in Arch Enemy is it pays the Rent .They are a kool metal band but your right his talent is above some of the music of Arch Enemy.

I've always wanted to know... what is a 'Jato Unit'? I used to think that this is about a military unit of an alien race from an anime called Gintama, because the Yato people there are really violent and all, and the music is pretty violent too (well, that's true for quite a lot of metal...), but a) I don't think Loomis likes anime b) Gintama doesn't really seem to be his "genre" specifically c) Yato in Gintama is written with "Y" and not with "J" as in the title of this song. So I'm still waiting for an answer from someone :D
A JATO is a rocket they strap to a plane to assist take off. (Jet Assisted Take Off). Usually if it is over weight.
