Hey keith, did you have trouble with the throttle cables interfering? Just fitting mine and it looks like it may catch on the damper unit, cherers, dave
Makes a difference for me. Probably depends on what type of riding you do. If slower, technical stuff, maybe not. But anything at higher speeds it's great.
I chose the MSC because it was Australian made, and at the time significantly cheaper than a Scotts unit. Comparison is difficult since I haven't owned a Scotts, however I'd consider one specifically for the rubber sub mount option.
Excellent video, many thanks!!! A few questions with respect to fitting: 1) do you remove the oem oring, metal seal and rubber seal to replace with just the bracket and new metal seal? 2) With respect to the fork lines protruding, did you get the same result before and after? 3) Also with respect to torque spec for steering bearings did you follow the oem 12Nm specs or it was too snug? Thanks in advance, Zac
thanks Keith, I was referring to the fitting order and if we need to reuse any parts from the stock ones. I ended adjusting to 9Nm. As 12 was too tight in my case causing shaking
I was able to get a MSC steering damper from Vaughn for my 500 exc also. They make jewelry.
Hi Keith...since you've now been using this damper for a while...could you do a short review on it?...thinking of getting one but not sure...thanks

No problems. It runss right beside it. I put a loose cable tie around the post and cables to stop them moving and catching.
@@keithjob thanks legend. Much appreciated.
Did the damper make a big difference? Is it worth getting one?

How do you think the MSC stabiliser compares with the Scott’s? Why did you choose the MSC?

@@keithjob thank you. They don’t seem anymore so far away in price. But the MSC looks nicer.

Hey Zac. 1) Geez I don't remember :-( . 2) don't understand your question sorry. 3) followed the specs. 12Nm aint much.

Hi Keith - thank you for all these videos! So inspiring. Any reason you got MSC instead of Scott's?
Cost. MSC about half the price of Scotts.
what is this for?
reduces the speed at which the front wheel flings or defelcts left/right - also makes riding better - hard to explain in one sentence
