BMW M3 E46 GTR Race Car at Mugello! - OnBoard, Flames & S54 Engine Sound!

- This video is about a gorgeous BMW M3 E46 touring car in action around Mugello Circuit during the 12H race of the 24H Series.
The car has been built by the Dutch BMW-specialists JR Motorsport and it's powered by a naturally aspirated straight-6 S54 engine. It also features a 6-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters and an M3 E46 GTR bodykit.

This is an incredible build. The car sits visibly higher than most race cars. Wonder if that id due to limitations on the build? Otherwise, that transmission is amazing, the sound is incredible, and side exhaust is absolutely peak BMW. Hopefully they did well at the event for a 20 year old wolf. E46M3 best car.
If only it had the P60B40!
The guys of JR Motorsport said they chose the S54 engine in order to compete to a larger number of championships, even in those where V8 engines are not allowed.
There are maybe 6-8 cars that have that engine and that includes some of the unicorn road cars, and very few are in public hands. And BMW made GTRs with the performance version of the S54 P54B32/5. Some of the super early PTG GTRs ran the 3.5L stroker P54, good for over 450bhp.

that's not true. they went back to p54 block before going to e92 chassis
