that's obvious, Roger played some hyper aggressive tennis due to some physical issues. He hit a lot of winners and fantastic shots, but he committed a lot of forced and unforced errors too. So Nole hit just few winners with Federer in serious difficulty. And in general Nole doesn't provide a lot of hot shots for the highlights, even when he tries, he fails everytime , he's just a solid player without a risky style of play,

He beat lots of guys in the 00's just by sheer tennis skills/ability but when he was faced with opponents with mental fortitude like Novak he wasn't able to overcome. Yes he won matches against him but I get the feeling he was just content to let his silky skills defeat opponents which at the very top might not always work.

It’s not lack of mental strength. You guys sound ignorant. Federer won 20 grand slams and was in a SF pushing 40 yrs of age. His mental strength was there. It was a simple case of an aging champion vs a younger champion. Novak is five years younger. From 2011, youth was always gonna be on his side. He just outlasted Federer down the stretch. That’s why Fed was more of a threat in 3 setters vs the five set format

@@dramamania1762 you dont need to be so full of yourself to call people “ignorant “, specially when you are wrong. Yes, age plays a big role there against Roger, but the lack of resilience is clear. It didnt happen after 2011, you could see it many times against Nadal many years before. Federer had enough level to win either 06/07 FO finals, which he didnt because he couldnt sustain mentally the game.
What about missing 2 MP against Djokovic 3 times in grand slams? Losing the first set of FO final 2011 against Nadal with a 5/2 advantage? Man i followed their entire careers closely, and thats pretty clear.

    • @owenlewis6399
      @owenlewis6399 4 ปีที่แล้ว +37

J024 doesn’t give people an excuse to insult fans. The point of highlights is to provide the most crucial points and the best points. Federer, by nature, hits more flashy winners than Djokovic. They’re trying to get people to watch the videos, not trying to provide a spread of points won corresponding to the total points won. Case in point: first set, Federer goes up 5-2 with several beautiful winners, taking a 16-2 lead in winners over Djokovic. Djokovic hits back by outlasting Fed in rallies and playing a beautiful tiebreak. Clearly Djokovic’s style won out, and often wins out, but it’s not the most watchable *in the minds of those who made this video*. At least that’s my guess.

They do not seem biased to me. Federer had 46 winners in this match and Djokovic had 31. I think this match more than any other, explains why Federer's tennis style is preferred by so many people as opposed to Djokovic's. The fact that Federer had 15 more winners in this match than Djokovic, when the serb was the one who won the match in straight sets, that speaks volumes about a lot of things. Novak's strategy against Federer-
    1. Rally ball to Feds backhand
    2. Play the ball low and deep
    3. Slow down the pace of the rallies.
Feds backhand becomes weaker the more times he hits the ball with it. Add to the fact that the ball he receives are mostly deep and low which requires more accuracy and the right amount of power to return it properly. Novak also dictates the rallies by preventing Fed to use his favourite combo.

Federer is doing all the running - back and forth - side to side. In order to produce those shots he needs to use his legs a lot - people are fools if they think that Federer's style of play is not exhausting - it is because. His fast and perfect shots are looking easy but they are produced with a lot of effort and a lot of knee bending - hence injuries in these areas. These highlights show actually how Djokovic is just standing on the baseline and directing the ball all over the court - this is his talent - a lot diversity at depth, angles and all kinds of placement of the ball. He is making his opponents to run across the whole court making offensive play with controlled aggression. This is 90% of this matches. But they always show his defensive skills and shots because they are very acrobatic and winners from sliding positions - his unmatched acrobatic abilities to hit balls while jumping for a slide, while on the move to the opposite side, etc. and always with a balance and at the centre of the racket - this sets him apart from all the players I have watched till now.

The second set was close too but Federer got broken serving at 5-4 that too after it went to duece
The third set it clearly seemed that his injury started to impact his game.
It would be an enormous task to come back from 2 sets to djokovic
But the level of play in 2019 and 2020 AO by a 38yo federer (saving 7 match points in the previous game) against djokovic was amazing.

Not to mention that Novak's 4-match lead happened during the 2016 season when Roger practically broke his back from scoliosis. And Federer had to adapt to all of the courts changing in the late 2000s. They all got way slower which is a huge advantage for Novak's groundstroke-based game.

razneK No, I’m saying it’s nobody’s fault, and Novak fans need to stop acting like it’s Roger’s fault with ‘weak era’ nonsense and Slam counts. Because when Roger was 32, he was still winning Slams continuously. He had accomplished almost everything Novak has today (except for winning all Masters 1000s but that’s because Rafa, Novak, Murray, Ferrer, Verdasco, Davydenko, Berdych were all in their freaking mid-twenties so don’t bother me about that!) And on that note, it’s not like anybody in their mid-twenties is giving Novak trouble today. Because they’re all Next Gen garbage! Thiem is like the only one who puts up any sort of fight! Think about it: up until around 2017, everybody in the top ten was over 27 or 28 years old. Now, they’re all under 25 (which is what we saw and were amazed by way back fifteen years ago when Roger was rising up and destroying poor Agassi lol) but instead of being great rookies like Roddick, Hewitt, heck even Rafa were, they’re trash! I mean, you had Dimitrov being number 3 for months! (Flashback to racket-smashing Baby Fed days) And the only reason Zverev was number four for so long was because of that super sketchy, really close, total BS win against Roger (remember, in the middle of a crucial point in the final tiebreak he suddenly started whining about a ballboy and stopped play). He literally did nothing else. He had NO TITLES and he’s number 4 for TWO YEARS! That’s how crap they are! This compares to how Roger had to overtake old GOATs Sampras and Agassi while fighting off Roddick by winning dozens of titles in a row, then Rafa had to beast his way through multiple clay seasons and finally win Wimbledon, then Novak had to emerge on hard courts and do marathon after marathon against Roger in New York, meanwhile they all have Murray, Safin, Ancic, Ferrero, Nalbandian, Gasquet, Haas, Berdych ALL lingering in the background! Plus the big guys like Isner, Querrey, Karlovic, and way more! Sorry not sorry, but the top 100 is GARBAGE compared to ten years ago!
You have to face it guys: tennis was the best ever from 2003 to 2015. There was no weak era for Roger: *it was a strong era for all of tennis*. And Novak is taking advantage of that now. I’m not saying he should be discredited, I’m just noting that he was born at literally the most convenient time imaginable to win. Lol

This is why FEDAL fans hate DJOKOVIC so much.. the numbers don't lie, NOVAK had the head to head records in terms of matches against these two, ESPECIALLY in terms of GRAND SLAM semis/finals.. everyone keep saying how Grand Slams are the determining factor for being the GOAT. Well, since 2011 until today (that's already 10 years btw), NOVAK had the RECORD against these two!
The ONLY reason why FEDERER had the most slams today is because he earned MAJORITY of those during 2004-2007, the time when DJOKOVIC who just turned pro and was just getting a hang of it, the professional tennis life, and Nadal getting the RG every year (only winning RG).
    2004-2010 GS records:
Federer - 16 slams (majority of it came from 2004-2007)
    Nadal - 9 slams
    Djokovic - 1 slam
    2011 - 2020 GS records:
    Djokovic - 16 Slams
    Nadal - 10 slams
    Federer - 4 slams
Djokovic is just a year younger than Nadal and he is very close to matching his record considering that NADAL had turned pro much earlier than NOLE, PEAKED along with NOLE pretty much and won GS at such early age which made NOLE's wins even more impressive..
Roger won 16 of his slams when he was basically ALONE dominating the rest of the slams when Nadal was just solely winning clay court titles and major and Novak was just an upcoming player at age 18-20..
Novak had to play against NADAL, MURRAY, Del Potro and Wawrinka and Federer during his dominating years and he still managed to earn 16 slams..
    GS records:
    1. Federer - 20 GS wins; 11 finals
    2. Nadal - 19 GS wins; 8 finals
    3. Djokovic - 17 GS wins; 9 finals
    now who's the GOAT?

Do you think that Nole was deserving to win last Wimbledon after losing his serve and being 40-15 down? Spoiler: NO, he wasn’t deserving to win. Roger missed the next points and lost because in crucial moments Nole takes better decisions while Roger (especially against him) is less lucid. Simple as that.
