That *is* true, but in my opinion, even after the hikikomori route is done, Sunny is still SUNNY. Like, no matter how much he stays in headspace and hides behind OMORI, there’s still gonna be that part of him that’s human. Also, they are still the same person. Yes there’s the whole question of whether or not OMORI is an alter ego and how far gone Sunny is mentally, but they are still definitely the same person. I think Basil Rush shows this the most, with how he just straight up reverts back to Sunny, “fighting” Mari, even headspace Mari, especially with Basil helping him was likely just way too on the nose, and eventually it broke through all of Sunny’s repressed memories and turned into Mari’s hanging corpse. Details like basils FLOWER CROWN skill turning into ropes also suggests that Sunny’s repressed memories can just break through if Headspace reminds him too much of them, even if SOMETHING isn’t there, or there’s no connection to Black Space. Also, yeah, Stranger is arguably the biggest threat to Sunny’s repression, and the only reason he’s ever really “defeated” is when he completely gives up on Sunny after he succumbs to OMORI and gives control over (most of) his mind to OMORI. So Stranger “know[ing] what you did” as an attack at all has to have some effect on Sunny, there is just no way it doesn’t. When OMORI is afraid, it’s undeniably whatever part of him is Sunny, we know that even if they are separate mindsets or entities, Sunny always fuses with him to explore Headspace, so Sunny having completely succumbed to OMORI isn’t even actually that far off from how the two normally work. There’s still a part of Sunny in OMORI, no matter how much he can think he’s not him.
anyways a day later this fight reminds me of fobbyiyg from mother cognitive dissonance(if ykyk), both are bosses with a copiously large amount of hp and takes nearly an hour to kill, both pretty much makes your team always on the brink of death, both have status effect altering capabilities why did i write this? idk i just want to tell people about my cogdis hyperfixation i guess
@@praisethecarpainter1025 fair enough, borange ray is absolutely cracked and you can just completely annihilate any and all enemies although i believe the whole process of getting it is what makes it fun, challenging, and rewarding anyway i haven't played it again in over or nearly a year by now so i don't remember too much

*dream breaks*
ILL MAKE YOU SAY, HOW PROUD YOU ARE OF ME!!!!! SEE MY WAY
So I'm not crazy then ok good
Seeing omori being stressed out is a little unsettling. like he's supposed to be in full control at this point right?
True! Tbf I’m pretty sure stranger is the second thing that threatens Omoris existence , firsy being sunny

I always love running into a fellow CogDis enthusiast. Never beat Fobbyiyg myself. Borange ray is overrated anyhoo.
