So basically, this boss is a puzzle boss. You have to pay attention to the boss dialogue, then inflict them with right emotion. Successfully doing so, the boss will change form, and allows you to make damage for a limited number of turns. I didn't want to use any big damaging skills, since I want to show the whole fight, and besides, I'm already lv.50, so it might end the fight very quickly, so I had different skills instead.

His sprite changes *drastically* when an emotion triggers. he's so broken to the point he completely looses it when he feels emotions.
I really think he should have skipped straight to third tier, when you try to make him happy he becomes manic, etc. given his extreme reactions, the likes of which you don't see *anywhere* else in the game as far as i know. Even when he was furious in the space ex-boyfriend fight before, he didn't look as mad as he does now just at first level.

@@mariotheundying Me and a friend actually came up with the names of tier 4 emotions: Livid (Lvl.4 Angry), Delirious (Lvl.4 Happy) and Inconsolable (Lvl.4 Sad).
Considering the effects they have would have to be even more intense than tier 3, I would think it would start influencing stats other than the ones usually affected. Something like that.

I'd assume Space-Ex here references how Sunny blocks the memories of Mari's death. Calm, but if provoked or reminded even a bit, he goes off at the one who made him remember. Omori goes to extreme lengths to make sure Basil stays quiet in his head, killing him countless times.
Also I don't think it's a coincidence they're standing by a cliff high enough to kill a person while fighting someone depressed.
I think it's much simpler than that: The entire Spaceboy subplot is a metaphor for what the story considers healthy vs unhealthy ways to deal with loss. After the first fight he talks about how the mixtape contains happy memories that he should still cherish, which is also how the characters eventually refer to Basil's photo album on the last day of the good story path. And at one point on the last day Aubery says something about how it's important to let yourself feel all emotions, "good" or "bad", as part of the healing process (as opposed to blocking them out like Sunny or running from a tough situation like Kel). This fight, and honestly the whole emotion-based combat system, felt like it was about that.

This reminds me why skills like red hand are so OP. I wish they gave it to you after a very hard bossfight, rather than just straight up giving it to you
I mean... You basically get them for giving up on the "good ending", Basil and any chance for Sunny to forgive himself, so its not like you get them effortless y'know
@@poisonsumac4565 Besides, it makes sense with the character, OMORI basicly controls all of HEADSPACE, and could instantly defeat, or even just erase anyone or anything in HEADSPACE (including PERFECTHEART), he just doesn't because HEADSPACE is a distraction from reality, if every enemy got removed immediatly, SUNNY would go do other stuff, and possibly find the truth, which is what OMORI was created specifly to stop from happening, OMORI is the why all the things in HEADSPACE happen.
So technically, OMORI could use RED HANDS whenever he feels like it, or even just ERASE the enemy if needed.
So you shouldn't have to work for something OMORI could already do anyway.

@@shiroiokami5246 after Maris death, im pretty sure Hero had mood swings too, since in the graveyard (RW) Kel says that Hero lashed out his emotions on Kel. But yeah maybe Hero wasnt *as* dramatic as Spaceboy

all of his emotion sprite are terrifying, poor spaceboy (EX-Husband) literally his heart is broken, ¡screw you sweetheart!.
Man, that space-ex-husband fight has a lot of symbolism and double meaning. The snow, which when appearing in dreams, means you aren't confronting something important, and how emotion is portrayed as a weakness in the fight.
The true correct way would be to set kel up with coffees and team spirits/pep talks in the beginning the fight, have him flex when he says a quote, and have another team member use an emotion on space ex (preferably hero with spicy food at the beginning)
Assuming you have chicken ball equipped you’re almost guaranteed to 1 hit space ex husband with a flex and run n gun with a caffeinated kel with the ecstatic emotion.
and that's how I've been doing most of the time, sadly it won't be interesting that much, if you just keep one shotting the boss, it's like I'm playing EO2U, where everything is just cheese.
@@HymejiMyreje Yeah kel nuke is OP and that’s why I made 2 separate save files for 1 day left. One where I beat every boss at level 25-30 and another where I beat every boss normally (no coffee spam strat)

Did u know if ur damage is high enough (ex. Kel Nuke) it goes through the defence of SXH. Found it out and dealt 1500 to the poor dude while neutral.
I just realized, his eyes are darkened when he feels an emotion, this is because Space Boyfriend uses an eyepatch, but he can't because he gave it to YOU last time.

that other one is pretty much a boring but alright boss. just have chicken ball, and she's pretty much done. people keep saying it's a superboss, but not really for me. I have fought some superbosses, and she's definitely not.

Remember "superboss" is relative to the other bosses in the game, a fight could be a superboss as long as it is much harder than other bosses in the same game, comparing it to other games would mean only 1 game *actually* has a superboss, which is not right.
@@HymejiMyreje She isnt horrible but I decided to beat her without the Kel nuke and eventually won with just Omori standing due to her attacking twice in a row and having her pop my resolve. Most of phase 1 was setting up angry/sad strats with Kel tickling for crits on Omori's and Aubrey's hits

i went through the battle using high power skills and tickling... i got through the battle in 7 mins and only made him sad then angry. dunno if i should be scared of omori or proud.
Well he's one of the dps and any DPS characters in RPGs are the devils so yeah. You can say a girl from a funeral parlor in another game can be scary.

This character is the perfect representation of what will most likely happen to Sunny at the end of the hikikomori route.
He tries to completely suppress his emotions. But bottling all of them up only makes them even more destructive when he gets pushed past the breaking point. And that's going to be what ultimately destroys him.
And that's why simping someone is dangerous

Why Sad Space Ex-Husband looks more miserable than Miserable Omori
Capt. Spaceboy deserves a better life, we all know that Sweetheart’s an asshole but she completely shattered Spaceboy’s world. The sprites are so expressive of the emotion and the sad sprite just gets me every time.
Happy space ex husband is the definition of intimidating
This dude was exploited so far to the point that when he feels an emotion, he does one of 3 things: he loses his sanity, he falls into misery, or he goes fucking ballistic.
Spaceboy is like the boss version of Basil, always being exploited.

for emotions not really necessary, as long you have emotion inflicting items, you are good. as for damage it's up to you. this is the RPG part anyway.

Hikikomori route is, as the name suggest, another route.
In case you don't know, what decides your route is whenever you answer to Kel at the door on the first or second day if you went out on first day. The game plays quite like the outside/Sunny route except for the awake parts that are much more differents (chores), until the end of two days left where a lot happens, then one day left having more headspace content.
If you don't feel like re-doing the entire game, there are save files out there you can download I think, I personally would recommend to take one putting you right after Humphrey, but there are also some that puts you directly in one day left of course.
Im geusing the right way is not kel nuking it asap

@@HymejiMyreje A large part of that is because you are max lvl, it's a bit more intersting at like lvl 25 or so, but definitly an easy fight.

when hero feels any emotion (i think) and he calls kel, if kel is sad he turns neutral
Because of a secret where Hero makes Kel neutral by his follow-up (Call Kel), works for any sad tier Kel
I believe I kept the same skills on me as I did all the time when I did this fight:
Omori: Vertigo, Stare, Red Hands, Suffocate
Aubrey: Beatdown... uh... Wind-up throw... I... Guard, I guess? Idk Aubrey's just kind of Beatdown City once she gets it. Power hit was NOT one of my skills because it's trash. Stab is also trash, literally 3x attack (Mock, Trick, and Shun are 3x damage btw, AND CAN STILL CRIT) and people simp for it for some reason. Lowering Defense? "Suffocate, Rubber band, Tenderizer". Ignoring Defense? "Look To Omori". Out of my face.
Kel: Rally, Flex, Run'N'Gun, and... I think the last one was Ricochet or something. Kel just kind of becomes half nuke half juice restore
Hero: Dazzle, Cook, Tenderizer, Refresh (Though Snack Time also works wonders for the fourth slot, and Spicy Food is a good move too)

But you literally could have spammed Mock, then Hack Away (Until you get Red Hands), Mood wrecker (from 2x damage to 2.25x damage, for half the Juice from Power Hit) until you get Beatdown, Headbutt if you can keep up with her draining HP, literally just Look To Omori which is two hits, altogether always doing more than TWICE the damage, Kel nuke, or if you don't want to focus on that too much, honestly just have him make the opponent Angry and give Omori the Daisy from getting the Flower Puzzle in the Junkyard, and watch as Attack Again makes them BURN even if you miss the first blow
Theyre good moves for when you get them, I'll admit, but I find it sad that everyone thinks them the best and keeps them until the end.

Nah the real right method is making Omori furious, debuffing Space Ex-Husband's defense, using 3 poetry books to make him Miserable, and using red hands. Literally some of the heighest damage possible in the game, over 10-12k+
