  • Today I'm sharing how to cook shirataki noodles! This is my secret for making them taste good so you can use this low carb noodle in any recipes! I'm also sharing two of my favorite low carb shirataki noodle recipes so you can give them a try!

    Tuna and Noodle Salad with Toasted Sesame Dressing

    Ingredients:
    1 package shirataki noodles, rinsed and drained
    1/2 cup cabbage, shredded
    1/2 cup red bell pepper, thinly sliced
    1/4 cup radishes, thinly sliced
    1 can skipjack wild tuna, drained
    2 tbsp tahini
    1 tbsp coconut aminos or tamari soy sauce
    1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil
    Optional toppings: sesame seeds, chopped scallions, cilantro, lime juice, red pepper flakes
    Instructions:
    Bring a small saucepan of water to a boil. Lower to simmer. Add shirataki noodles and boil for 2-3 minutes. Drain and add to a serving bowl. Add the cabbage, red pepper, radishes, tuna to the noodles. In a separate bowl, whisk together the tahini, coconut aminos, and toasted sesame oil. Add a little water to thin the dressing if necessary. Pour the dressing over the noodle salad and toss to combine, breaking up the tuna and ensuring all the noodles are coated in sauce. Top with optional toppings, serve, and enjoy.
    Pesto Chicken Noodle Salad

    Ingredients:
    1 package shirataki noodles, rinsed and drained
    1/2 cup frozen green beans
    1/2 cup frozen peas
    8 oz shredded or cubed chicken breast (or 1 cup chickpeas)
    1/3 cup prepared pesto
    1/2 lemon, juiced
    Optional add ins: halved cherry tomatoes, feta, goat, or Parmesan cheese, toasted pine nuts, walnuts, pumpkin seeds
    Instructions:
    Bring a small saucepan of water to a boil. Lower to simmer. Add shirataki noodles, green beans, and peas to water and cook for 3 cups. Drain the noodles and vegetables and add them to a serving bowl. Add the chicken (or chickpeas), pesto, and lemon juice. Toss to combine so all pesto is incorporated. Garnish with optional toppings, serve, and enjoy.

      I just had my first meal with the noodles tonight. I made chicken piccata and used the noodles instead of traditional rice or pasta. They were great.

    This is so helpful! I’ve trying them out because they fit well with my plate it method of healthy weight loss. Perfect timing of this video. Question: how are these different for nutrition compared to the palmini noodles?

      Hi Morgan! Palmini noodles are only slightly higher in carbs, but not by much! I like palmini noodles with creamy sauces :)

    these look so creative and delicious! I think I shyed away from shirataki noodles after reading that consuming large amounts can cause bowel obstruction. But I think I will incorporate it in my diet here and there :)

    I was hoping you would do a video on shiratake noodles! I have recently tried the ready-to-eat miracle noodles. They aren’t truly ready-to-eat but do not have the unpleasant smell or taste. I thought they were a good spaghetti substitute and very filling. While I didn’t find them bloating, I clearly didn’t …TMI Alert… digest them well, which freaked me out a little the next day.

      Oh wow! I haven't had any trouble with digesting them - but we're all so different. They are VERY fiber-filled!

      Its not that you didn’t digest well, its that konjac causes a laxative effect
