Hey buddy. I don't think Dirk theory is dumb at all, it's just that people are spreading the wrong evidence unfortunately. Someone on Reddit compiled all the evidence into one google doc and it convinced me that developers were implying Dirk is Mythra's son. The Reddit post is titled "[REDACTED]'s Identity Theory (JUST A THEORY!)" since I can't share links here (and if you want to check out all the evidence).
Of course, they won't confirm it like Mio and Glimmer since it's controversial and the majority hate Dirk (unlike Mio and Glimmer who are liked by the majority of the fanbase). If Dirk wasn't Mythra's kid, I think Takahashi would've said so in the interview like he did with the Guldo theory. He would've said something along the lines of "BTW Dirk is not Mythra's son" because debunking it isn’t controversial, but that's clearly not the case.
I’m pretty sure the artbook also implies Mio wasn’t meant to be Nia’s kid initially in development either. She has a concept art which lacks the Gormotti ears and her Core Crystal wasn’t visible either. Another one of Mio’s old designs has her with the Aegis Core Crystal instead of her Flesh Eater Core Crystal inherited from Nia.
Also, I find it funny how in the artbook Dirk is listed the first among the Consuls, with 3 pages like N and M, as well as being the only one with an alternate outfit other than the generic armour as somebody pointed out on Twitter... IDK but I'm pretty sure this signifies Dirk being an important character given the special treatment, probably since he could be Mythra's son. I don't think they will give a random serial killer that special treatment.
At some point, Alvis theory was also considered stupid and yet it's confirmed. Alvis being Ontos wasn't confirmed in Xenoblade 2 nor Alrest Records and was confirmed in a future game (XBDE and XBC3 Future Redeemed), who is to say it won't be the same for Dirk? Especially since the ending of XBC3 teased that he is still alive in Alrest. He could return in a future game as a supporting protagonist (perhaps alongside Malos too) and confirm that he’s Mythra’s son. It would explain why they the devs were ok with not giving him much spotlight in Xenoblade 3 if they were already considering bringing him back for a future project focusing on the true version of Dirk instead of his crazy Aionios counterpart.
Besides, I highly doubt Alrest Dirk was evil considering that Aionios transformed the empathetic Noah into the obsessive Consul N (Noah and N's conversation in Origin confirms that Noah would have turned out the same as N if he were in his shoes).
But I guess we should just wait for official confirmation about who Mythra's kid is. Could be a random person that died in Aionios for all we know. I also agree with you when you said that people shouldn't rage + boycott Takahashi for not answering all questions as such questions may be answered in a future game (Xenoblade 4 maybe?).

Everyone else from the Tornan royal family and later on ALL TANTALESE had red eyes. (Apart from Zeke, who _wore a contact lens and an eyepatch on the other eye.)_

The biggest issue with dirk being mythra's son is the following: (to me)
Rex is the actual king mythra's child is most likely a son as 2 of the 3 are girls. So this last child (unless there's more) would be the true heir to the crown of Alrest or something, and being Mythra's kid gives more legitimacy as the son of an aegis (glimmer too, but Pyra is an aegis but also a byproduct in a way. Mythra too, but less so).
Would you really have a story like xenoblade 2 where now rex's son and new king of the country you kinda united in 2 is a head collecting sociopath? That doesn't make any sort of sense, story-wise.

  • @goofusmaximus1482

We dont even know if Rex and Mythra's kid id even a boy. Their kid may very well be their daughter. And if they did have a son, the most likely name would rither be Milton or Addam. And have we seen Dirk's core crystal in game?! It would be just like Glimmer, an emerald green core crystal in the shape of a Zohar from Xenosaga, just like Pyra and Mythra if he really was their son.

I am pretty sure any child of Mythra's wouldn't be evil or at the very least have a strong resemblance of both Rex and Mythra herself. This theory is real silly and I do not know why people clung onto it so hard... I guess it is simply because both Nia's and Pyra's are in the game but otherwise... it is still based that they canonically gave Rex three wives.

      @reef-lux450 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Rexchuck9968 Sorry but how does that even correlate to what I had previously said? I’m not going to deny he’s crazy since it’s pretty obvious, not to mention his character is based off of those traits. Even so 3’s lore and settings show how those factors contribute to the way he is, such as how Aionios breaks people in the world. It’s a world which consists of an endless war that encourages child soldiers to constantly kill one another in order to live so they can keep living and collect the life force of others; it actively promotes killing and violence, the same goes for Dirk alongside the other soldiers even if his case is worse. He’s also described to have “went mad” which implies he had snapped at some point during his life when he had the Blackblaze title, the side effects of living through constant fighting and war show through him and even in other soldiers in the story as they’re desperate to fight just so they can keep on living. None of the soldiers in Aionios are given choices as part of 3’s themes revolve around finding the ability to choose. Comparing him to the other Moebius, Dirk isn’t under their illusions of believing they’re perfect and he contributes to his psychotic nature by reliving in the thrills of Aionios due to the circumstances in the world making him snap. Since he managed to obtain a title for himself he thrived in Aionios but died various times himself, it also shows later in the story when he’s been defeated before he no longer takes chances and becomes desperate to win against Ouroboros to retain the power he once had since it was what he was used to as a human. Dirk’s character is a product of his environment due to the circumstances in the world, hence the only way he could “choose” in the world was through finding satisfaction within the same violence Aionios encourages. When he mentions dreams during the Cloudkeep scene following by mentioning the transcendence of his past lives, he’s reliving the feeling of killing people in his past lives but he’s also reliving the feeling of himself being killed countless times throughout his numerous memories. He also mentions all of those past memories rushing back to someone whenever they become Moebius, hence it’s why Moebius go mad from the revelations of it all. Dirk’s flashback from the same scene also appears to be just a singular life of his and not numerous of them, it’s the same setting and how could he have gotten the same non-Blade weapon in all of his past lives? Being described as going mad also doesn’t equal to he was the same in all of his past lives; there’s not enough evidence to support both claims in such a way since we don’t know what they were truly like but the effects of the world’s circumstances upon him can still be applied to Dirk. And no, there’s also no evidence he was the same back in Alrest so the “evil from birth” claim doesn’t apply. He’s probably a child there similar as to how Joran was in the epilogue, the same likely applies to any of the soldiers who were Moebius. I guess this is just how I interpret his character since I believe there’s more to him and Moebius than what’s on the surface. I understand there’s people who dislike 3’s villains but it also seems they missed the point of them alongside other elements in 3’s story. This also isn’t a Dirk theory thing, it can apply to his character in general.

Another thing that disproves Dirk being Mythra’s son is that every half human half blade child we see in xenoblade 3 and future redeemed resembles the blade parent more than the human parent from the color of the eye and hair to their gender. Linka resembles Pandoria and is a girl like her, same with Glimmer and Mio, so it’s very likely that Mythra has a daughter instead of a son who looks like her mostly. This is supported in future redeemed where Rex says that Core Crystals get dominance in terms of hereditary traits, which means that because the core Crystal contains the fundamental and basic genetics of the blade, then Mythra’s child would be a daughter instead of a son. So yeah, it wouldn’t even be Dirk

Lol lmao even. The people like you are what make this theory so funny and making a video with incessant rambling about a video game theory makes it even funnier. I understand disagreeing with it and I respect that but why does it affect the Dirk haters in such a way that they feel the need to be so hateful about something that shouldn’t affect them personally? Reasons aside seeing the Dirk haters get so worked up over it never fails to be funny since fun doesn’t apply to them. As a fan of him ever since the game launched I just like sitting back and watching those people scream over a theory involving one of my favorite characters

@@paragonoftorna2548 The video being scripted as negative kind of makes me think otherwise, but if you say that it doesn’t make you genuinely angry unlike some other people I can respect that. It’s just that a good portion of the Dirk haters I’ve seen are some of the most toxic people in the Xenoblade community and it makes me wonder how they live if they lose their marbles over something so silly. Personally I don’t think it’s that bad but I also agree it’s fun to go off of on both sides, main reason why I’m not against the theory is because it’s funny

    Want a crazier theory?
To summarize the theory, I believe there is a specific visual pattern on how genes are presented in offspring that distinguish Kevesi from Agnian. If we apply the pattern to ONLY characters with BOTH parents verbally confirmed, the only child in the photo to meet the criteria of being biologically related to Rex is Glimmer. This means that the photo confirms a paternal relationship but is inconsistent with all other examples of characters who have both parents known in terms of biology. It also means Mio is not 100% confirmed to be Rex's because there is no verbal or in-game confirmation of her fatherhood.
The pattern is fairly simple on its own:
Kevesi are very close in resemblence to their physical features (build, skin tone). This is to the point of being near duplicates physically, but we can tell with Matthew and Na'el that the physique changes generationally (body frames are not the same as Noah and Mio, but are clearly related). Edit: Na'el and Matthew are an incorrect example as Ghondor is mixed. Nikol or Panacea are better examples, not sure why I went to Na'el/Matthew. Otherwise, the point remains the same.
Agnians have a blend of color pallettes, most prominent in hair and eyes.
The only example of mixed is FR Ghondor, whose genes progress from Mio and Noah to Ghondor and Vandham, none of whom have both parents known. Bring the two opposites together and the evolution processes combine. Kevesi seems more dominant.
The problem comes from the fact that only a select few characters have established parents, being the children of main cast members. Glimmer is the only to line up. We can call it obvious subtext of fatherhood, or we could call it obvious subtext of a paternal relationship. A father figure does not require blood relations. Blood and family being related but not interchangeable has always been a fundamental part of the series' philosophy.
Nikol looks like Shulk and Fiora.
Panacea looks like Sharla and Reyn.
Glimmer has auburn hair and orange eyes. Pyra has red for both. Rex has brown and gold respectively.
    Red+brown=auburn
    Red+gold=orange
The same applies to Linka, but Zeke's features are grey, being a shade rather than color. This means Pandoria's features are, when blended Zeke's, a different shade of green from Pandoria.
Now, there's a meta-narrative element implied as well. I'm referring to the rule of 3. This is a narrative construct of using 3 occurences of something within the story to convey a point.
    1. Set expectation
    2. Set pattern with repetition
    3. Evolve pattern
The most common approach would be for the third occurrence to be subversive toward the previous instances.
    2 Agnian
    2 Kevesi
    1 Mixed
    That is the confirmed set.
    That set includes a mixed.
    We have 3 babies.
    Compare the babies.
Mythra's baby and Mio have the wrong hair colors for Rex to be the biological father. Glimmer does.
The photo conveys 3 children with the indication of Rex being the father. 2 fit, 1 doesn't.
    Boom, rule of 3.
So, we know Glimmer and Mio to be 2 of the kids. Who is the 3rd?
Well.... this is where the theory gets into bigger unknowns.
Future Redeemed gave us the identity of one (Glimmer) of them alongside multiple other kids to increase the sample size for genetic inheritence. The scene that introduces Glimmer also introduces a child roughly her age with blond (the missing link!) hair. Nikol.
Regarding the aforementioned rule of 3, Nikol's presence (assuming this to be true, and I realize it may not be) would indicate another hidden pattern. A Kevesi in the photo would suggest perhaps one is mixed (Mio), thus completing the trend of at least 1 Agnian, 1 Kevesi, and 1 mixed. In this case, we are led to believe they are all Agnian, but they are actually the same as the previously established groupings despite seemingly not.
I don't know how or why Nikol would be there. I suspect it's a matter of protection with Mythra acting as a temporary motherly figure. Shulk references having been there for Nikol's childhood but the line can be interpreted as him AND Rex helping each other with parenting (paraphrasing, it's along the lines of "I never thought we'd see them grow up like this again," I'm putting extra attention to how Shulk specifically uses "we," "them," and "again"). This can be interpreted as a sentiment of shared experience as parents, but with Xenoblade I'm inclined to believe "we" suggests togetherness. Not to mention that Shulk and Rex do not abide by standard rules of spacetime. Meaning, I find it most likely that Shulk and Rex particpated in raising each other's kids together.
My guess would be hiding Nikol from Moebius for a reason we aren't aware of yet and Shulk's absence would have to be temporary.
Anyway, the point is that Rex is only biologically related to Glimmer and I'm not totally convinced Mythra is holding a child she birthed. Even if we set aside shakiest part with the Nikol concept, I don't know why people are so opposed to Rex, an orphan, raising kids without parents. I'm not personally opposed to open relationships, and if it turns out he had kids with all 3 it's really whatever to me, but the appearances of the babies simply do not align with the information we have and I don't like how much that gets flagrantly ignored.
