Some of the best days of my life were at Kenny’s concerts ! I met him , I have a tambourine. He is missed by many ! Loved Loved this man ❤️ You will never be forgotten!! Thank you Kenny Rogers ❤️❤️❤️ Thru the years ❤️❤️❤️
My Abuelita was from a country in central Am and this was the kind of American Music that they played there so when she moved to this country she brought her love of this music with her; I Grew up Loving Kenny Rogers as a result. She used to sing Through the Years to me- I am Black and Hispanic and people are often surprised by How MUCH I Love Kenny’s music- music knows No race- Good Music is Good; Great music is GREAT. Mr. Kenny Rogers (what I called him for some reason as a girl always with the “Mr.” in front) you bring back sweet sweet memories♥️and we love you for All the memories. RIP Legend 🕯
Thank uou Garth! I remember watching this on HBO shortly after the first of what would become over 35 KENNY CONCERTS. I was even at "The First 50 Years" taping at Foxwoods. I finally had the opportunity to meet him in 2017. To say I was (and am) arguably his biggest fan is an understatement.
Growing up i was raised by my uncle that was a spitting image of kenny, he loved his music so I grew up loving it, his movies too. He is so influential in my life and memories.
Garth I was thinking about this concert today. The way he closed "Lady" was genius. He imprinted HIS voice singing the last line, "You're my lady," while the stage lights were off on EVERY woman's brain who were there that night. Genius marketing ploy.
It's sad we have lost another of our greatest artists. Love his voice no matter what he sings. RIP Kenny and thank you for blessing us with these memories.
This concert was good and people really enjoyed the songs and golden voice of Kenny.. how I wished that I was there on his concert.. I felt the emotions of the croud that I couldn't blame them coz they have witness the performer on that stage; Kenny was floating on the stage like an angel come from heaven..rip my idol in heaven, sing with the angels in heaven.
Concerts back then were about the music & entertainer only. He didn't need a bunch of strobe lights & crazy people running around nor the music so loud you couldn't understand it. His prescence & singing spoke louder than anything. He was always a class act that cared about his image & satisfying his fans. He aged like a fine wine & sexy as ever. His all white suit was great. He wore it well & this concert was a great mix of songs. A mic drop would have been epic at the end. Rest in the shelter of Amighty God now & sing on with the angels. You definitely went out in a blaze of glory with a title of "legend" that will live on forever. Thanks for the memories. You will be missed by many especially your family. I wish your teenage boys had had more time with you. Plus your best friend Dolly. It broke my heart that she heard of your passing like the rest of us during this sad year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Linda Davis is another sweet lady that Im sure her heart is broken too but we all know you are with God & have walked through that gate that St Peter opened for you. You will see your old friends soon. R.I.P💜🌹✝️
The Golden era of entertainment is gone into the Georgia Pines in retirement with this guy. He was a showman, an entertainer, a singer, a swell guy and he loved his audience and had a relationship with his audience like no one else
I liked Kenny from the night I met him in Houston at the Showbiz club when he was with the Bobby Doyle Trio. He even sat with me during all his breaks and he asked me to breakfast. I couldn't go but he called me in Beaumont and talked me into going to Houston and I enjoyed their music for the next few years. He told me that one day he was going to make it big someday and I am so proud that he followed his dream.I knew that he had the talent, looks and personality.
I'm from New Zealand, and I saw Kenny Rogers in 1983 with some of my family and friends at Western Springs Stadium when I was 11, Islands In the Stream had just come out, Kenny sang that by himself, that was so cool. Somethings Burning, he also sang. Numerous songs I just can't remember, and daytime friends. RIP Kenny.
Kennys youtube channel only has 545k subscribers!! How is that possible? This guy reached the fame level of right below Elvis and the beatles. He ruled the early to mid 80s. Music and movies. Numerous duets with the top stars. 545k subs on you tube is a shocking sadness.
Hey crew! This show is coming out on DVD when you donate to PBS... Be sure to select his concert collection set as it not only has the show, A new album, and playing cards to boot.... Donate and show some love to Kenny...
One of the Best Performer's ever! Went to an outdoor concert and everyone had lighters lit like candles! Such a friendly man 💞 R.I.P Kenny the world is going to miss you!
R.I.P Kenny Rogers. I love his music, and here in 1983 that was just prime!! And wow his wife was just stunning. Dolly could not stand a chance there ;-).
There are entertainers who are good, very good and then very few, great. Then there is Kenny. Saw him many times at Westbury Music Fair in Long Island. There will NEVER be another, PERIOD!
I was at that years concert just not the televised version of this it was amazing I am 52 I was introduced to Kenny at 10 yrs old and I saw him on the muppets doing the gambler concerts I listen to cause it reminds me of the 7 times I ve seen him in concert brings back a lot of memories and yes I still cry after he died I am also 75 percent deaf with hearing aids and I can hear him clearly
He is a legend forever, I have this Dvd,, it is called Journey, the best one, 60 years of him singing,,, the best songs ever,,,, and his band too, R.I.P. KENNY ALWAYS IN MY HEART, FOREVER, @ EVER, MY IDOL
I was just remembering when "Lucille" came out the summer of '77, and I guess with a bus full of kids, it makes it hard to really hear what's coming on the radio, so there were some bad lyrics that we thought were right. What we thought we heard was "You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel, With four hundred children and a crop in the field". Eventually I learned the lyrics correctly, but it's still funny to think back about something when I was a teenager.
I remember seeing Kenny Rogers live at The Johnstown War Memorial. It was a memorable night. The only thing that was a bummer was that I didn't have a camera, or a camcorder to record the concert. Truly a memorable night. The only advantage that people in wheelchairs were allowed in the front row to see the concert up close. The other thing I remember is that the stage revolved. Dolly Parton, and Ronnie Millsap were also in the concert program.
