Ferrari Daytona & Lamborghini 350GT - Remedying 2 classic Italian V12s | Tyrrell's Classic Workshop

  • In this episode, we delve in to a “day in the life” in the workshop. Iain uses some tricks of the trade to recover lost cylinders in two V12's that haven't been fired up in anger for some time. The Lamborghini 350GT is about to be stripped for body restoration and a full service, but first it’s important to assess thoroughly how it drives before the serious work starts, so parts (such as sticking brakes) can be dealt with at the same time. The Ferrari Daytona has already spent time in the workshop but has developed a running fault that requires further investigation.
Thank you once again to everyone for the overwhelming reception of these videos and for all the support of likes, subscribes and wonderful comments. It gives us tremendous encouragement for the future of this channel.

This channel is such a blessing for us that will never be able to own these cars or have a man this talented work on our cars. Such a sad state of affairs that many of these cars do sit and just rot under their own weight and not being properly exercised. Thank god for people like Tyrell and Harry that properly cane these great legends now and then to show us how great motoring once was.

We have had a Daytona in the family from new (1973). Father-in-law bought it to replace his V12 E Type which kept 'missing' cylinders. We all love it and this year it was passed on to the next generation of the family. It is fabulous to drive, but there's always something to do. Saying that we love it and your video catches the fun, - that lightweight flywheel means it's a really free running engine, but if you bring the clutch in with insufficient throttle, it 'dies' instantly. Could go on about it forever, but you've made me smile alright!!

The V12 is an endangered species. I had a Mercedes with one but it never matched the character of Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s. What a fantastic series this is, and what a pleasure to see such a pristine working environment compared to the chaos on other channels.

I've loved all the previous vid's, they've all been wonderful but this one was even a little better, my cheeks hurt from grinning like a fool the whole way through, it was great hearing you describe what was happening n why, to see you fix the problems and explain the what n how, then experiencing the Daytona getting a run, that sound, truly beautiful, thanks so much.

I came here from Harry’s G too. What a privilege to watch and listen to this gentleman. The Engine Whisperer Extraordinaire. Legend indeed. Thank you Ian.

All vids are so cool! Hooked and whatched them all in one weekend. If I ever have a classic car, Iain is the only one to touch it. If I ever have children I want him to raise them. What a fanastic channel. Like a lot of people say: as a petrol head, thinking knowning it all, I learned so much already. And no music, just the college teaching of Iain. Perfect.

Another delightful episode. Cheers Harry for persuading Iain to start this channel. To any petrolhead this is a real treat, only made better by the joint episodes with the Espada. Congratulations.

My Fathers boss had one and had me in it when I was 9, that was in 1968, it was for me like a spaceship and I think it's when I caught the car bug, it still affect me the same today.

I have to stop this video to say something. Thank you, thank you so much for making these videos. This is a dream come true for me, the amount of information your providing is amazing, and I highly doubt could be provided anywhere else...well, maybe in this day and age. Yet for me, having grown up in the ‘80s and had several Lamborghini books, models, posters, and magazines, nothing touches this knowledge dump your providing to me. Thank you so much!

Wonderful Italian V12s! They do make such a great sound, and yet they’re so smooth (when running correctly!). Back in the day, I used to run an XJS HE and also a late model Silver Shadow Mk1. When jumping straight out of XJS into the RR, I was always amazed at how much smoother and quieter the V12 was. Under any other circumstances I would marvel at how smooth and quiet the RR was! Very much Looking forward to your next video....

Spectacular video again, sir. You have such a talent from the years of experience you have. And so eloquently spoken a narration. I’ve been watching you since you started with Harry and have watched every video. I so look forward to more and more. Even this one being three years old is like brand new. Cheers.
