Lamborghini Miura S - Road-Testing a Complete Ground-up Restoration | Tyrrell's Classic Workshop

  • This stunning gold Lamborghini Miura S has undergone a complete ground-up rotisserie restoration under the care and attention of Iain and his team. Having featured in previous workshop catch-ups, including details of the reworking of the front-end to match the original factory spec, the car is now looking the part, and that means it's time to start slowly bringing the car to life through careful road-testing, a process that can often be a significant chunk of the total restoration time. Ride along with Iain as his years of experience working with Miuras allows him to pin-point the issues that require further attention back at the workshop. All being well, Iain can hopefully start to open her up and allow that glorious V12 to sing once again!
    Thank you once again to everyone for the overwhelming reception of these videos and for all the support of likes, subscribes and wonderful comments.

    The front fog lights were one of the last parts to go on the car as part of the new front-end, but don’t worry folks, the loose one was fully secured shortly after these shakedown miles.

    Excellent video! I remember working for Ferrari Suisse back in the late 90ies when, one early morning, I watched the offloading of a 288GTO which was quite a sight after a strong espresso… so early... But when they offloaded a pristine Miura S and parked it next to the GTO with an engine noise to die for, the whole premises went bezerk! The Ferraristi were yelling blasphemy wheras I praised the Lord and knelt in front of the beauty to take pictures. The Miura is the most beautiful car ever built, period.

    So much attention to detail, beautifully eloquent and such a joy to watch and listen to Iain. I love the Gear selector Graphic as Marcus was stirring the box. I'm hooked on this channel now and getting stuck into some serious binge watching. :0)

      Jay Kay had the right idea, what did he say about his Miura? Something like “young kids these days don’t get to see these cars because owners keep them hidden away. They need to be used”

    It’s a huge responsibility undertaking a restoration with a car of this value, the man puts his reputation on the line, no wonder he sets it up depending on which side of the road it’s driven, just wish he’d look after my VW Touran for me 🤷

    Great video. For viewer enjoyment feedback that particular camera angle along with sound at 20.43 minutes in around the sweeping bend gave a feel for the car.

    thank god for iain and people behind this channel. nowhere else do you get the privilege to see such high-quality footage of a miura beneath the skin and all its mechanisms at work. i built a scale model of a miura about a year ago and searched all over for detailed pics of the underbody and engine bay. this is basically reference material and would have been handy at the time. ty for all your videos on one of the great beauties in automotive history.

      New generations always have a different perspective on things, it may be that exotic car prices will eventually start declining especially as they become more difficult or even impossible to keep running with resources like Mr Tyrell becoming scarcer and scarcer.

    The only true super-car worth having -- The original and still the best! It shocked the motoring world back in 1967 when it first appeared at motor shows with that unique engine/transmission layout and stunning body shape! Nothing since has captured that sexy look the way the Miura does!

    The English restorations of these classic Italian sports cars is way better than what is done in the U.S. In the U.S they over-restore them, making them way more perfect than what they were originally. In the UK and in the European continent, they bring these cars back to a state that is far more accurate to what these cars were actually like when they rolled off the production line in the 50s, 60s and 70s, thus being more historically honest, sympathetic, and correct. The Pebble Beach look, as I call it, ruins these cars.

    • @Paul_VanGo
      @Paul_VanGo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sadly it happens here in Europe too.
      But they are rarely driven.
      The cars shown here are will see more action than just getting parked on some snobby lawn once a year.
