    For the actual expertise required to maximize 0-60 times in a manual, the automatic one isn't bad at all. The main factor is the fun factor.

    Ay mate...
    "If you want more power, you can go with the six in the Supra..."
    No mate.....no, no, and another no....
    If you want a GR86 with more power the Supra just will not do. It is a totally differnent car, cobuildt with bmw, on a totally different platform with a much more luxuryfeel agenda.
    Not saying rhe Supra is a bad car, probably is rather good (I think it looks kind of wrong though, proprtions are not right or something). Piont is this:
    I want the GR 86
    I do NOT want the Supra (if someone gave me one, I would take it, sell it, buy the GR, and use the extra money to stroke the 2.4 to 2.8 and do some tuning🤪
    Yeah baby....there's the more powa 🤘🤘🤘

    I don't know why people are calling this car an "entry level" sports car. It's insulting to this great car. It's a cheap Japanese sports car. That's what it is. Stop calling it "entry level" as if it's for 3rd graders

    Great review! How do you think driving this car in the snow will be like?

    • @drivingsports
      @drivingsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would be a hell of a lot of fun in the snow. With snow tires I bet this thing rips. The fact that it has a TORSEN limited slip differential in the rear makes all the difference. Of course you’ll be limited by clearances, so I wouldn’t take it into deep snow.

    • @Edwin_Lam
      @Edwin_Lam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drivingsports I've never driven a RWD car, let alone driving one in the snow. I'm from Quebec where winter months are longer, so I was just wondering how living with a RWD car will be like in winter. Subaru has a video of them testing the new BRZ in the snow, I don't understand Japanese, so I cannot get much out from that video. But I guess if I get winter tires, drive on plowed city roads, and stay away from slopes, then I should be ok 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @weezinthejuice13
      @weezinthejuice13 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Edwin_Lam I can’t say for a brz/86 but I will say, I currently drive a 2019 mustang gt all year long in Missouri. Prior to that I daily drove a Focus st. We get average winters with a few heavy snows throughout the season. I drive on factory all seasons in the winter and the only trouble I had was clearance like stated above. As long as you drive conservatively it’s was no different than my Focus.

      That extra Yamaha-Subaru engineering and Research/Development would easily inflate the price tag to well over >$30K+. 🙄
      The whole point of a $29K RWD affordable sports car (ie Toyota GR86) is to be affordable enough for people in all walks of life: young and old, working class blue collar proletariat and billionaire.
      Want a faster car? get the new 400hp Nissan Z, 380hp BMW Toyota Supra, or 280hp Honda Odyssey.
      Want a fun new car for 30 grand? Get this Toyota GR86 or Mazda Miata.

    I'm baffled why the manual car doesn't get the automatics cupholder. I get it that your arm might hit your drink, but that didn't stop them before. Why limit storage options anyway? Who says you have to use it for drinks? You think it would be cheaper to just manufacture one console.

    • @HarryKuloh

      They knew ppl would use it for drinks, spill the drinks, causing danger, then would blame the manufacturers for being stupid for putting cupholders there.
