    The real reasons are:
    1. In Thailand, where you booked here isn't exactly called "apartment", but it's called "Condominium" (condo)
    2. The condos are purchased by many clients or owners of each room, but the real apartments are belonging to only one company or one owner.
    3. And all condos' policy:
    a) electricity monthly fee will be charged separately from the room fee with no extra added by the owner. (equal to the real amount from the electricity metropolitan bureau)... In real apartments in Thailand, they will overcharge at least 50% more from the real amount for both electricity and water.
The procedures are different from hotel, because the overcharging of the real apartment is for their maintenance and security works. But the condo, the owner of each room must pay annual maintenance fee. (condo has many owners = co-owner)
    b) I think in your case, the real owner of this room had done agreement with AirBNB to announce for rent and AirBNB will get the commission. That's why you can't request the condo's juristic office to scan your face, because this can be done only under the permission of the real room's owner. But the good side of your rental contract is "no water supply charging". I think it's reasonable, because they will include water charging also in 3 months rental contract or longer. (water supply fee is very cheap here)

Having lived as a full time resident in several condos in Bangkok, AirBnB is a very contentious topic among long term stayers. One one hand, you have every right to expect to use those facilities as part of your package. However, I can't tell you the number of times a rowdy group of tourists made my day at the pool or the gym a miserable experience as many people on vacation just let loose and are loud, rude and seem to think the AirBnB is a party hotel and not a private residence. Good luck and enjoy your stay in Bangkok !

I completely understand that 👌🏾. I think the Airbnb listing was a bit misleading but overall all is cool. Plus Airbnb gave me a coupon off my next booking so I’m happy lol

As an owner who pays a large management fee for peace and privacy, we do not want Airbnb renters hogging our facilities and trashing our block. Will report to police when find them.

Very good info! I'm thinking about going in December so this helps a lot. This is why I don't like initially booking anywhere for more than 1 week. I've gotten into places with slow wifi and other little problems like insects and things in Brazil. The problem is if I actually do like the place and want to say it almost always booked the following weeks so I end up moving every 7 days. I will be watching your channel to help me get a place for 1 month in Pattaya. Thanks.

I would definitely put that in the reviews. Cause they love posting pictures of those facilities only for you not to have access to them. The place i'm staying is a bit away from the city but at least i have access to everything. They don't have face ID here, more people use fingerprints

Just subscribed to your channel, love the vibe and food adventures from your perspective even though I'm Thai. About the condo, at 17K baht is luxurious sum of money but from what I see is roughly 35-40% over priced especially with no gym and pool access. I'd recommend scouting for better deals which could easily save you 3-4000 baht with even bigger room, better facilities and easier access to the main road closer to MRT or BTS. Love your VDO, cheers!

The best strategy for an expat like yourself should be through an Agency. Talk to several people and find a facebook group for expats and ask for their experience in different areas.

@@theisaiahashleyshow4251 talk to locals, there's often I big difference in the price, I can rent a nice place here for around 12000 but if my wife asks the price, it's a whole different thing, understandably enough, we stayed in a hotel a few weeks, when I checked the price it was 700, but she called and asked, was just 350'ish for her, so yeah, ask around, many times the place is not for rent on websites but by word of mouth, best of luck to you 🙏 blessings as always

    It means only one thing,
The juristic here doesnt allow airbnb and the owner does it illegally…
Normally one key card access all area but since a key card can be transferrable…. So finger or face scan are used..

Dude, you need to talk to Airbnb for a refund. I recommend you move away from the central city and look at Condos along Sukhumvit road further away from the center area like Asok or Rama9 road. You'll get a cheaper price with bigger room and the same amenities. Your area is terrible for commute. Your commuting strategy should be mainly BTS and MRT and a short
