  • Bali, Indonesia is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with millions of people visiting every year and enjoying their time. But it’s not always fun. You see, Indonesia has strict drug laws and has dozens of convicted smugglers on death row. And recently, 5 foreigners were arrested for selling drugs and 3 foreigners were even executed via firing squad a few years ago. With all this bad news surrounding foreigners, we thought it would be interesting to find out how the people of Bali perceive foreigners as a whole.
The opinions expressed in this video are those of individual interviewees alone and do not reflect the views of ASIAN BOSS or the general Indonesian population.
Special thanks to our Asian Boss team in Bali, Indonesia.

Bali is more well known than the country it is in, Indonesia. I used to overhear foreigners say "Indonesia? Is that in Bali?". It is a pity because Indonesia is a huge and diverse place to explore.

Non native Indonesian might not realize it, but the interviewer spoke with a formal Indonesian language (the one that you would speak on seminar or in a class, instead of on the street), it's a little bit distracting hahaha.

Tourism often helps economy and provides jobs. But it can have a deep inpact on the culture and destroys often nature. There's often two sides of the story.

What the hell? This video is exactly the idea i proposed. I was trying to apply a job in Asian Boss like two months ago, and the form asked questions like where I am from and what idea i can give. So i answered I am a balinese and gave them this exact idea.

If you are going to a country you must respect their laws. It doesnt matter whatever the law is.

Bali is a beautiful holiday destination but it has turned into modern day hippie headquarters as most of the tourists are faking going yoga, peace, music, do drugs and smoke addicting substance and are very very ignorant. Disturbing and destroying local environment and culture.

Hold up, terbuka doesn't mean open-minded that just means open in terms of cloths. What she meant was foreigners make Balinese people more vulgar/open in terms of cloths.

It is so sad that people travel to other countries and act like they can do whatever they want with no regard to customs &traditions, rules.
