Growing up as a young teen in the early eighties you had to be kinda wealthy to afford a new dean ml or a hamer explorer sunburst. Back then pawn shops were the place to get lucky with such a find. Now they are just greedy and only sell squire strats. Which are good for a beginner, better than a teisco.
Just bought the $850 Dean from Hell (Dimebolt), it's the best playing guitar I've ever owned... one day I'll be able to afford the USA ML... Please Dean! Work it out with Dime's Estate and with Rita, please keep making Dime Deans!
If you buy a import DEAN ML, make sure it's been crafted in KOREA, they're the closest to USA models. In fact both Michael Schenker & Dave Mustaine keep the personal Korea models, with their personal USA models, within their own performance and recording collections. I purchased a (made in Korea) DEAN DIME SIGNATURE CFH SHOWDOWN FLOYD ML and slowly replaced all the hardware and electronics with the exact same as on the USA models, starting with a Floyd Rose 1000 and a Seymour Duncan SH13 Dimebucker pickup in the bridge position. Each time I save up some cash, I replaced another part. Just before DIME was taken from the world, Dean made him a USA version of the Showdown. You can find pics of him playing it live. All, jet black with gold hardware, creme colored mounting rings, beautiful. Took a couple of years but eventuallyy, mine looked very close to the one Dime owned and played briefly before he passed on December 7 2004.
I bought a us made Dean ML XM for only $170 brand new when I was 16 ( I now play exclusively Jackson, but I still keep the ML around to fuck around with ). It may not be the best version of that guitar you can buy, but the price honestly isn't too bad at all for how well it was actually made, though it's not anything fancy.
No need to start name calling man. Dean Guitars was revived in the late 90's. Once Dime had fulfilled his contractual obligation to Washburn, he made the move back to Dean. Sadly, it was only weeks before his death that his deal with Dean was signed.
Fucking Dimebag Darrell!!! R.I.P. Brother! DEAN Guitars are just way too fucking cool, I've played dozens of DEAN Guitars, ranging from the cheapest they have to the best, and they all fucking rock! I have never complained about a DEAN Guitar, ever. They are honestly right up there with ESP for the best Metal Guitar company out here today. DEAN RULES!
I own a dean vx I modded the hell out of, a dean v white gold I modded, a Chicago flame dean v and a Washburn Dime camo V. I love them all, I'm hooked on deans.

dude if you want a high quality guitar, you must pay that quality. you pay for what you get. thats like that in everything, cars, houses... if you want a guitar that is hand made with the best materials and attention to detail obviously will get expensive. if you dont have money for that, buy an imported guitar, made in china, korea or something. those exist exactly because of that. not hand made, cheaper materials.
Too bad you guys are ripping off his guitars now, and still capitalizing off his designs/color schemes for a quick cash grab because you can’t legally sell guitars with his name anymore.
