- So I played through Resident Evil 1 multiple times to get all of these different cutscenes to be used in some future videos.
The Guinness world record winningly bad voice acting is bad enough, but add poor writing and awkward pauses to the mix and this is what happens.
I still love the game though. It's probably my most-played game of all time, since owning it as a kid way back in '98.

RE1 was a perfect storm of unprecedented horror, atmosphere, quriky characters and hilarious dialogue. A rare moment where each piece adds up to make a timeless masterpiece, intentional or not.
It's probably my most replayed game of all time, so it definitely does something right.
Unintentional hilarious dialog, this game is responsible for my love for puzzle games

I don't know why, but that is some of the most awkward, hilarious, human interaction in any media. Especially the long pauses between dialogue, and the inflection on Enrico's "Yeah" that makes it sound like a question.
Man, I love some bad voice acting.
Yeah, it's not just the voice acting, it's those awfully awkward silent moments and the script. But I love it!

Same here. My dad had to return the game to the store because the scene with the zombie turning around to the camera gave my brother and I nightmares. 😂
@@nullnova That scene where the zombie is munching that guys head off and then when you think the zombie is dead it starts munching on your ankle, back then all of that was unexpected and there really wasnt a game like RE on consoles.

@@Dooku-gi1uo Unless it's Resident Evil 3 Remake, which is a massive downgrade from the Original RE3 Nemesis game because they cut out like 50% of all the stuff that made RE3 Nemesis an amazing game.

I think it's because when I normally play, I choose 'Yes' to allowing Rebecca come with you, you need to select no for this scene to happen IIRC.

When resident evil directors cut with the re2 demo came out it was an amazing time. The Game itself was a classic and we got a glimpse what was to come

This is the first game I played on PS1 back in 96 when I was 9, will always have a special place in my heart.

I wish they would make extreme HD remakes with just the still camera images that ended when RE4 came out! They can still make the more action movie-like remakes and new installments (even though the essence of RE was destroyed with the Umbrella corp) but it seems it would be super cheap to also make some still camera remakes like the gamecube versions! 😈😎😇

I'm sure I read somewhere that the voice actors did this job with very little context, and a direct translation from Japanese, which is why it sounds so awkward.

Quite a lot missing from Wesker, I didn't think his performance was as poor as the rest.
@@nullnova I'm not sure, because he says something and instantly contradicta himself in the next sentence. I actually think that Jill actress is best of the bunch (which isn't saying much), but it's negated by atrocious script, "is this voice Enrico's?". She also sounds really naive (Chris too) for one badass specops character.
This could've just been titled "Resident Evil 1 the full movie (all cutscenes)". lmao!

@@nullnova First time I got that scene, I immediately killed the zombie with a shotgun to the head, and was wondering where the "monster from the cutscene" was, expecting something special. Took another playthrough to realise it was just the ordinary zombie.

I remember playing RE1 when my English was very rough (no PAL version was localized, as far as I know) and being puzzled by the dialogues. I actually thought they were speaking some form of slang I didn't know. Turns out it was just a bunch of random American people doing their best to act a script written by some clueless Japanese guys. It was still a great game, very creepy despite the poor graphics. I actually still favor it over the remake.

I didn't mind 0, it makes sense she was a noob as she was a brand new member. But that game was difficult, I remember having to restart the whole game because I didn't have enough ammo for the last boss. 😳
