The RE engine is stunning as always, and if the same team that worked on RE7 is present for the regenerators, a LOT of people will be getting nightmares this year
Didn’t DF say it’s generally a good engine but the AA gets worse with every release and the RT is always locked to console settings? Beyond those two gripes they always seem stoked on the technology

Honestly this is a confirmation that it's a full remake, and they are adding to it in so many interesting ways, making Luis even more prominent and moving story moments around, Luis specifically it seems he'll survive much longer, moving his death to later on is a great idea, having him as the goofy companion is interesting and I like how they've changed his character up, that scene in the mines with leon and Luis gave me Indiana Jones vibes. The island is there, the first Krauser fight will actually be an in game knife fight. All of those areas are so familiar and it's great they didn't change the surroundings too much. Also crouching to dodge the scythe enemies is interesting how it can be used not just for stealth. Also Saddler is fully bald now? Definitely makes him more menacing

re2make only had one major issue, the issue of Mr X and safe rooms, with the snapcube parody segment "Claire! Where'd you go?!" being an excellent example of how ridiculous it was. Immersion breaking.

It can only disappoint, I think. RE4 was groundbreaking. Edged in the memory of everyone who played it on the Gamecube at the time. 18 years later, it will probably feel like we´ve seen this a hundred times before. RE4 is still very playable and the 2005 charm helps it. This looks like 2023 streamlined facsimile of something we loved in our youth,

To each their own, but I have full faith in the Dev team and from what I’ve seen thus far, I don’t really see how I can be disappointed from this remake. Again, that is just me. No even in the OG game, I felt like he was pretty wasted. Especially since I savor a Rino Romano performance since he was Spider-man in the PS1. Now when he probably dies, I'll actually give a damn about him.

I remember being 5 or 6 years old when the original resident evil 4 came out.. my favorite thing to do was watching my dad play it and now they’re remaking it! huge part of my childhood.
This is going to be a massive hit I love how they have kept the arcadey mechanics and havnt tried to go too realistic because that isn't why re4 was so popular it was just a really fun game , looks like they have nailed it

I'm an amateur Resident Evil fan and I was born late to play the early games but I'm glad Capcom is bringing back those early vibes older fans got to experience for newer gen
Capcom, i grew up playing this when i was a little kid. This is possibly one of the best days of my life. This is hands down the greatest video game trailer ive ever seen in my life.
Getting to play with Luis is such a treat! Seeing Jack Krauser and the rest of the monsters was such a blast and this is gonna be a rollercoaster of a remake! I can't wait for March to roll around the corner!
Not even in my wildest dreams as a devout RE fanatic since the originals would I have expected this to look as insanely good as it does. As someone who has poured hundreds, if not thousands of hours into the original RE4 across all console generations and PC, mere words cannot describe the amount of excitement and optimism I have for this game. This actually might be better than the original in the end. Definitely GOTY contender without a doubt.

The parrying mechanic systematically removed the need to have cutscene QTE’s while adding an ingeniously intuitive core combat mechanic into the game. Much more survival horror than knee-capping an enemy and spamming the same knife slash until they die, rinse and repeat just to conserve ammunition. The knife prevents Las Plagas outburst from the enemies when executed via stealth or when killed in a downed state. The parry mechanic allows defensively strategic combat that allows you to better avoid taking damage while making space for you to better position Leon via his multitude of melee combat moves. To say the parrying is “cringe” or lame is to not understand either versions of this game or what they’re even about.
As for someone who is a massive fan of the original, I was skeptical about this remake. But I was wrong this is a great remake in my opinion and they did it justice
Everyone had their doubts but this looks SO good. It’s going to honor the original by being everything and more. I love how they’re implementing Luis as a partner in an extended role too.
I was just commenting how everyone was saying this didn't need a remake when first announced. I was in from day one. The recent REmakes have been some of my favorite games. I'm not into the 1st person ones. Here's hoping for a Code Veronica REmake or even a REmake of the original.
So nice that Ashley and Luis are more involved in gameplay this time. The transition to more true survival horror elements is sick! The original is wonderful (my favorite of the numbered games before Village tied it in 2021), but I get the feeling this version will be even better.
I feel like the involvement on luis is kinda the opposite of horror, He's a literaly comic relief character who now tags along longer then previously, making tense lonely segments no longer lonely and gives literal help...Idk not to sold on him being included more. Aside that this is fucking amazing, still excited for it
@@DrakeHurley I think they're just squeezing him into some sections that are mostly already silly to do two things: 1. Make his death hurt even more. 2. Give the silly sections something more to keep them attached to the reality of the game.
@@DrakeHurley I agree with you. I guess the greater horror of the original was how lonely we (as Leon) are for the greater part of the game. Having a comic tag along will take away from that. Now we'll have to wait and see exactly how much Luis appears in the game as an aid.

It seems Luis survives way longer than how he did in the original game. As well as being a bit more prominent in the story and gameplay as that dual Gigante fight was a solo venture for Leon before. The Krauser knife fight was also a QTE enthusiast's wet dream (it was awesome) but now it seems like it's just a straight up fight and I'm excited. I love how now the hurtbox seems to be actually tied to where you are as opposed to getting hit from lightyears away by something that didn't even look like it reached you (aka it looks like you can outright dodge attacks if you're quick enough)

It's soo cool and weird; Resident Evil 4 was the first RE game I played when I was a teen. Now I know exactly how people felt who played the original RE2 and RE3 games and saw the REmakes coming out. The Castle, the Island, the Garadors, Novistadors, El Gigantes.... They're all there it seems! Even the.... Regenerators...
This is the trailer that sold me. I got this game at blockbuster with my dad when I was very young. I never even finished it because the first 30 minutes were just to scary. Since then I got a little older and have played all the resident evil games so far and love the series. I pre ordered RE4 and get to pick it up tomorrow and finally play what I was to afraid to play all those years ago but enhanced for ps5.
Resident Evil 4 is my favourite game and one of my favourite pieces of fiction oat. With every trailers release I get more excited. I’ve never been excited about literally anything else in my life. Capcom and Shinji are the goats

@@MistahJay7 Actually, no. Separate Ways wasn't in the original game. It was only included in the PS2 re-release. However, with all the Wesker voice actor stuff that's been mentioned, I'd be surprised if he was just doing voice lines for Mercenaries. Most likely Separate Ways will be the game's only inclusion after beating it with NEWGAME+ Then Mercenaries will release in a free DLC a few months later. OR perhaps Separate Ways will be another DLC down the line, possibly costing something. Which at this point, I'd pay for if the game is good.
My favorite single player game. I was skeptical like many but this game looks like it could be an improvement even. Certainly scarier at the very least.

This trailer was amazing. Pretty much confirmed that almost everything from the original is back, including things people were worried would be cut (e.g., Krauser, the island). Capcom really have made sure to be faithful to the original this time around, which is great.

At first I wasn't excited for this getting remade but after seeing all the trailers.... This is now one of my most anticipated games of this year. I'm happy to say I'll be picking this up day one
So imagine this, you have a ticket to a movie on 24th, not just any movie, its John Wick 4, a bad ass movie, you leave this on download, you go watch the movie, coming home feeling like a god damn beast, download has already finished, you start playing like you are actually John wick, i have never been more excited about a release like this, RE4 was many of our childhoods, i hope it lives up to the original.
I'm speechless. This was fucking amazing and I... can't wait to play it. Capcom if you nail this like I think you will, you'll pretty much print money while having a certified modern masterpiece in your hands
@@metalfuhrer3115 RE3 remake wasn't actually done by capcom, they outsourced production to an outside development studio. RE2 remake was done in house by Capcom and so is RE4R, which is a good sign.

Wow. I watched my big brother play the originals up to RE3 growing up cuz I was too scared to play them. When RE4 released I was older and I stepped up and played it. Been a title that's very close to my heart ever since and it makes me very happy Capcom is staying true to what made RE4 so special.

I remember coming back from school and getting the chills while playing all the time, I loved it so much i completed it several times looking forward to play this version
They said it was going to be the whole game, and it sure looks like it's going to be the whole game Wisecracking Leon, more coop with Luis, Mike coming back, classic enemies and new twists. This game has a high bar to meet considering how loved RE4 was but based on what we've seen, the remake looks very promising
It's hilarious how extra thirsty they made Ashley in this remake. It's very obvious that she wants to do things to Leon. I love it, it suits the game perfectly and I'm glad that they maintained some of the campy sense of humor of the original. Ashley's little quip about being the "Master of unlocking" put a huge smirk on my face. It was an amazing experience being able to replay one of my favorite games of all times all over again in a totally new yet familiar way.

This is my favourite game of all time and the fact it’s being remastered and redone is so exciting to me
Not even in my wildest dreams as a devout RE fanatic since the originals would I have expected this to look as insanely good as it does. As someone who has poured hundreds, if not thousands of hours into the original RE4 across all console generations and PC, mere words cannot describe the amount of excitement and optimism I have for this game. This actually might be better than the original in the end. Definitely GOTY contender without a doubt.

The parrying mechanic systematically removed the need to have cutscene QTE’s while adding an ingeniously intuitive core combat mechanic into the game. Much more survival horror than knee-capping an enemy and spamming the same knife slash until they die, rinse and repeat just to conserve ammunition. The knife prevents Las Plagas outburst from the enemies when executed via stealth or when killed in a downed state. The parry mechanic allows defensively strategic combat that allows you to better avoid taking damage while making space for you to better position Leon via his multitude of melee combat moves. To say the parrying is “cringe” or lame is to not understand either versions of this game or what they’re even about.

The recent REmakes have been some of my favorite games.
I'm not into the 1st person ones.
Here's hoping for a Code Veronica REmake or even a REmake of the original.

I still have my doubts, and this crap has not put any of them at ease yet.
So nice that Ashley and Luis are more involved in gameplay this time. The transition to more true survival horror elements is sick! The original is wonderful (my favorite of the numbered games before Village tied it in 2021), but I get the feeling this version will be even better.
I feel like the involvement on luis is kinda the opposite of horror, He's a literaly comic relief character who now tags along longer then previously, making tense lonely segments no longer lonely and gives literal help...Idk not to sold on him being included more.
Aside that this is fucking amazing, still excited for it
@@DrakeHurley I think they're just squeezing him into some sections that are mostly already silly to do two things:
1. Make his death hurt even more.
2. Give the silly sections something more to keep them attached to the reality of the game.
@@DrakeHurley I agree with you. I guess the greater horror of the original was how lonely we (as Leon) are for the greater part of the game. Having a comic tag along will take away from that. Now we'll have to wait and see exactly how much Luis appears in the game as an aid.
Not to mention RE operation raccon city that game is awesome amazing playing as umbrella corporation cleaning up all the mess n finally the final mission killing Leon n Clair n retrieving the subject sherry birkin I hope they do a remake for that game too

I wasn't sold on Luis at first but this Trailer did it for me. Excited to see him now and how involved he is
It seems Luis survives way longer than how he did in the original game. As well as being a bit more prominent in the story and gameplay as that dual Gigante fight was a solo venture for Leon before.
The Krauser knife fight was also a QTE enthusiast's wet dream (it was awesome) but now it seems like it's just a straight up fight and I'm excited.
I love how now the hurtbox seems to be actually tied to where you are as opposed to getting hit from lightyears away by something that didn't even look like it reached you (aka it looks like you can outright dodge attacks if you're quick enough)

It's soo cool and weird; Resident Evil 4 was the first RE game I played when I was a teen. Now I know exactly how people felt who played the original RE2 and RE3 games and saw the REmakes coming out. The Castle, the Island, the Garadors, Novistadors, El Gigantes.... They're all there it seems! Even the.... Regenerators...

This is the trailer that sold me. I got this game at blockbuster with my dad when I was very young. I never even finished it because the first 30 minutes were just to scary. Since then I got a little older and have played all the resident evil games so far and love the series. I pre ordered RE4 and get to pick it up tomorrow and finally play what I was to afraid to play all those years ago but enhanced for ps5.
Resident Evil 4 is my favourite game and one of my favourite pieces of fiction oat. With every trailers release I get more excited. I’ve never been excited about literally anything else in my life. Capcom and Shinji are the goats

I love the part when Leon rides the minecart and then reunited with Dom while he says "Anything for my family". It sent shivers down to my spine

@@chancepaladin Seperate Ways was always an unlockable mode for beating the game. Wouldn't be surprised if they kept it that way. They aren't showing everything...

@@MistahJay7 Actually, no. Separate Ways wasn't in the original game. It was only included in the PS2 re-release. However, with all the Wesker voice actor stuff that's been mentioned, I'd be surprised if he was just doing voice lines for Mercenaries. Most likely Separate Ways will be the game's only inclusion after beating it with NEWGAME+
Then Mercenaries will release in a free DLC a few months later. OR perhaps Separate Ways will be another DLC down the line, possibly costing something. Which at this point, I'd pay for if the game is good.

My favorite single player game. I was skeptical like many but this game looks like it could be an improvement even. Certainly scarier at the very least.
Dude that music from 1:43 onwards is next level especially coupled with that Krauser knife fight at 1:47 with the ambient light below the grills as they duel

This trailer was amazing. Pretty much confirmed that almost everything from the original is back, including things people were worried would be cut (e.g., Krauser, the island). Capcom really have made sure to be faithful to the original this time around, which is great.

At first I wasn't excited for this getting remade but after seeing all the trailers.... This is now one of my most anticipated games of this year. I'm happy to say I'll be picking this up day one
So imagine this, you have a ticket to a movie on 24th, not just any movie, its John Wick 4, a bad ass movie, you leave this on download, you go watch the movie, coming home feeling like a god damn beast, download has already finished, you start playing like you are actually John wick, i have never been more excited about a release like this, RE4 was many of our childhoods, i hope it lives up to the original.
It’s weird, interesting and awesome that growing up from the days of Resident Evil 1996 to the Remakes…time is just flying by.

@@metalfuhrer3115 RE3 remake wasn't actually done by capcom, they outsourced production to an outside development studio. RE2 remake was done in house by Capcom and so is RE4R, which is a good sign.

3 remake was done by a diff Team then 2 Remake, 2 Remake is the ones doing 4 Remake. Besides 4 Remake def has clear improvements over the OG gameplay AND new stuff like brand new Enemies, areas,weapons and Unlike 3 Remake which lacked Mercenaries mode... 4 Remake has Mercenaries so It's a Clear cut 4 Remake whips out a giant El gigante Dong and Beats the fuck outta 3 remake at face value all ready.
The chances of 4 Remake being bad Is Extremely small..... Like VERY Miniscule at this point with all the info and Gameplay and Trailers we have that showcased That hardly anything if at all was actually cut from the OG aside from QTEs

I spend around 2grands just yo play re4 in my PC and Resident Evil 4 was the first game i ever played in my PC. Wow. I watched my big brother play the originals up to RE3 growing up cuz I was too scared to play them. When RE4 released I was older and I stepped up and played it. Been a title that's very close to my heart ever since and it makes me very happy Capcom is staying true to what made RE4 so special.

Wisecracking Leon, more coop with Luis, Mike coming back, classic enemies and new twists. This game has a high bar to meet considering how loved RE4 was but based on what we've seen, the remake looks very promising
Re4 is my childhood, 1st game i ever played on ps2 together with my cousin. Im 22 now I'm so hyped for this highly anticipated remake🎉
It's hilarious how extra thirsty they made Ashley in this remake. It's very obvious that she wants to do things to Leon. I love it, it suits the game perfectly and I'm glad that they maintained some of the campy sense of humor of the original. Ashley's little quip about being the "Master of unlocking" put a huge smirk on my face. It was an amazing experience being able to replay one of my favorite games of all times all over again in a totally new yet familiar way.
I can't wait to play this game!
