- HI ALL AND WELCOME TO THIS RESTORATION VIDEO OF A DINKY TOYS FIELD MARSHALL TRACTOR (No. 301) IT IS A BIT OF A CUSTOM PAINT JOB AND I DO HOPE YOU ALL LIKE IT. I HAD A BIT OF TROUBLE WITH MY RIVETS ON THE REASSEMBLY, BUT IT ALL CAME GOOD IN THE END. Great video Nick, that shade of green looks pretty much spot on with the real tractors. I've had an inclination for doing a green Field Marshall myself so I'm really glad you did this one, thanks for sharing the video, and looking forward to the next one. Thank you Peter, I do much prefer the green to the orange paint, I was a bit nervous about doing this one because I wasn’t sure what the setup was for the steering and front axle, but it was pretty straightforward in the end despite the hiccup with the rivet lol🤦🏻♂ Good luck with yours, I reckon you will really enjoy doing it, I did👍😊All the best to you both and we’ll be seeing you soon, Nick😊👍🐸🐸

SO NICK 😂 sometimes these tractor castings are pain to get apart ,but you did well and a fabulous restoration great colour lots better then the orange .

Lol, so I say so so many times, so I just don’t know what I will do🤦🏻♂😂🤣 So anyway, thank you Martin, I’m glad I chose the green version but heck, I almost came a cropper with putting it back together and those blasted rivets, they did go right in before I painted it. The lines that had to be scraped were well pronounced so they were fairly good to do and I was quite pleased with the result 😊👍 Take care, all the best, Nick. 🐸🐸

Love it Nick brilliant job again 👏👏👍yes it’s looks better in the green. I think they changed the colour from orange to green in the war for camouflaged as orange could be spotted by aircraft. I will be posting a small parcel to you in the next day or two.

Hello Nick just watched the field Marshall what a lovely job you did the green was perfect and scraping the lines thats a good idea, lol what's a coincidence I have got two of them ultraviolet lamps and was going to sending one out to you this week but now you don't need it . Did you know you can get a bottle of the 5 Second fix for about the same price. You do make me laugh when you take the Super Glue lid off with your teeth I'm expecting one day you'll put the bottle down and they'll be a set of dentures there 🤣👌👍.

Thank you Ralph, yes I saw that ultraviolet lamp on line so I thought I would give it a go, I didn’t realize you could get 5 second fix in a bottle, I will try and get one of those as I’m almost out of it, so thanks for the heads up on that😊👍 Lol I nearly always end up with my hands full when it’s time to take the lid off the glue, I shouldn’t really do that because I don’t want to end up wearing dentures, mind you, if I did and they came out I could always glue them back in with the super glue, if I could get the lid off 🤣😂 Take care, all the best, Nick🐸🐸🐸

I don't think you are doing yourself any favours by using the X-acto blades for scraping - you really need a Swann Morton Scalpel and 10a or 11 blades, Nick - the big knife is too big for scraping, I think. Otherwise, I love the Tractor, as mentioned on FB: looks a lot better than the orange one I have!

Thank you Fraser, I did use a different knife with a rounded blade to do the initial scraping, I thought I had filmed a clip of me doing it but I obviously can’t have because I couldn’t find it lol, I just had a little poke with the big blade where there were the curved blade didn’t quite get, but I will have a look for the scalpel you suggest 😊👍 I do prefer the green version of the Field Marshall, though I do have an orange one in my cabinet too which was given to me about 30 years ago as a Birthday present from my late ex mother in law.
