My Tundra 2000. 2nd owner. I relaced the fuel filter from factory at 26K miles. The Idle Air Control Motor is a simple collector of dirt that you don't have to replace. Just clean it out. I'm trying to get my late wife's Camry up to speed. 2002 Toyota Camry. Moog struts. Drives like a race car!
The factory service manual says to drain the coolant to remove the throttle body. Did you drain the coolant? it seems like it would be a bit pointless. I'm looking to do this and don't want to drain it if I don't have to.
No, I didn't drain the coolant. I stuck a small bolt in the hose that had coolant coming out of it. I often use a pair of radiator hose clamps as well on most jobs like these. Anything to clamp the line or block the line is fine. Not a lot will come out anyway but there is no need to drain the coolant down for this job.
It took about 15 to 20 minutes to remove the valve body. But I have removed many in the past so it wouldn't be fair to compare me to someone who has never done one. For a newbie doing it, it shouldn't take any more than 30 minutes.
I put the link to buy the throttle body assembly in the description: amzn.to/3HJ8zdZ $369.00 Better quality and less money that buying from local parts stores. If you want the Toyota Number: 22030-50142 It is $447.51 from Toyota
Thanks man this is what I have going on.

I did the same thing with mine. Cleaned the TB around 200k miles it's been running fine ever since. Has 275k miles now. That 4.7 is an excellent motor
That engine is solid for sure.
Saved me some $. Thanks guy.
Glad I could help
