    I had the opportunity to demo the Conturo for a kitchen I built.
    It took me a little bit of practice to get the hang of it but once I did the machine worked flawlessly. I didn’t have any issues at all.
    I also had the opportunity to use both .05 mil and 1 mil edge banding and figured out I personally preferred the 1 mil. I thought it looked better for what I was using it for.
    As far as trimming the edge banding I made a simple jig to use with a bosh trim router and it worked really well and easily trimmed the edge banding very clean, however I did get a lot of the glue clogging up the trimming bit. I noticed the trimmed off edge banding would get caught in the bearing and clog up the process but I noticed Festool has a router that seems to not have this issue as they use an attachment that does not allow the bearing to spin and pick of the trimmed excess.
    It’s a moderately expensive tool and obviously like other Festool products you have to use all Festool products with it and the expense adds up but like all Festool tools and products they are great quality.
    If you can afford the expense I think it would a great tool especially for curves.

    Nice demo thanks for your time showing the usage of Festool tools so that the novice too expert can understand. Watching a Festool informercial aka training video from Festool is over complicated. You put the simple usage into every video you do.

    Great Video! I want to buy this router and few more things:
    1) What bit you are using for edge cutting? 10:50
    2) What is the model number for that parallel edge guide? 15:07
    3) What bit you are using to cut the groove? 17:11
    4) Where I can buy the edge banding for that machine from?
    Thank You for your help!

    Question 1
    Tempature setting for 1 mm pvc edge banding? When i start the banding is getting over heated and melting.
    Question 2
    How to clean the glue spread or where it comes out? Some times when applying edging glue is spotty or missing on the bottom edge of banding.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated. keep up the great work and thank you

      #1 355 for temp setting..... #2 set the plate completely up in the machine is what I have seen cause this....

    I can’t get my Conturo to stop creeping and leaving areas with no edge banding material. What am I doing or not doing?

    • @sedgetool
      @sedgetool  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the begging when I first started using my Conturo I would pull the machine instead of letting the machine drive itself... I would experience areas of no glue...... let the machine drive itself and put firm pressure against the feed roller ...do not over exert pressure on the feed roller.. just firm pressure...this might help...

    Good video, hard to find much info on the conturo. You can do edge banding without sure but after I got the 700 router it really does produce better results. Do you find better results with the conturo? Seems like more of a speed thing vs the finishing process.

    • @sedgetool
      @sedgetool  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      MFK 700 makes the process sooooo easy.....

    • @carbb5760
      @carbb5760 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sedgetool not only easy but you get much more precise results vs file and sand or removing with a chisel. I’m assuming the conturo is more about speeding the the process of edge banding vs providing improved results

    Can you use it with preglued edge band or only non glued edgeband

    • @sedgetool

    Sedge I have a question, what’s the dust extraction port for on the Conturo for? I’ve never used one before .

    • @sedgetool
      @sedgetool  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the dust port on the Conturo is to evacuate the odor if it is bothersome...

    Hey Sedge,
    Would a regular MFT top fit right into the table base for the Conturo MFT? Considering the Conturo MFT, but was thinking of also getting a regular top that I could have in the base and just store the Conturo top for when i actually need it.
    thanks!

    • @sedgetool
      @sedgetool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yep ... will work ... do not order a Regular MFT / 3 and than order a conturo top ... it is really a mess ... order like you mentioned a MFT Conturo and than add a MFT/3 replacement top .....
