Thanks so much for sharing this knowledge - very helpful. I am still confused about how to get the subwoofer to work properly. Your talking about LFE seemed to indicate that it was really only going to come on for certain effects who CC, I assume would be for movies and TV? - I may have not understood that correctly. What I’m trying to figure out is how to get the sub working, particularly for music. Is there a feature somewhere that I’m missing? Any help appreciated. Thanks again!
If the sub is set up correctly, it should come on for music as well. The receiver will send any bass under the crossover for the front speakers to the sub. For example, if you have the crossover said to 80 hz for the front speakers, any bass below 80 hz will go to the sub. However, if you have your front speakers set a full range, then nothing will be sent to the sub. You also have to make sure that the receiver is set up with subwoofer on.

I have it setup OK, but noticed that while my sub comes on for watching movies, only my front speakers (subwoofer does not come on) come on when I am listening to internet music using the HEOS app. It's there a setting that will allow me to have my sub on while listening to music?

why did you select top middle for atmos? where are your atmos speakers connected? I have Jamos speakers and my atmos speakers plug right into the top of the front towers.. How do I see the setup screen you have in the beginning of your video? I can not see anything on my receiver other than setup-use tv. I’m using this receiver for my whole home audio throughout my home. Not using this receiver for any video/tv features. Is there a way to setup without using a tv?
Hey my friend I think you set your receiver wrong cause you are robbing performance off of your Subwoofer by setting your front speaker to large . And the LFE crossover must be set to 120 hertz . All your speaker have to be set to small and 80 hertz cross over even if you are using tower so the subwoofer will be doing his job . This is the standard for THX
Is there any degradation in audio quality (Atmos) if I connect my 760 thru earc for audio (everything else is connected to my tv)? Basically my 4k player, xbox, etc goes to my TV then my TV passes audio to the AVR. I have a newer 2020+ Sony tv with 2.1 earc.
If you receiver is receiving the Dolby truehd, atmos, dts master audio etc. signals, then there shouldn’t be an issue. If you can’t get anything above regular Dolby digital or dts, then your tv may be falling back to the base codec. I would typically recommend connecting everything to the receiver and then sending one hdmi up to the tv. The only exception would be for gaming. I have a Samsung tv that won’t go into low latency mode when I have the receiver in the mix but it’ll work when connected straight to the tv.
Hey man, first nice video thanks for that 😊 But I’m having a question! Can in put in the denon AVR-S760H an fire tv stick and see the video for example via an Beamer but having the sound via the denon?

Confused why I'm not getting anything from the back 4. Any help is appreciated.

I just want a simple 5.1 setup but it gets confusing when all my speakers are in the ceiling. I don’t want bookshelf speakers or in wall speakers just yet. Just getting into home audio and want sound out of the speakers I installed.
You would just select the 5.1 option in the menu. You have to just ignore that they’re on the ceiling and treat them like normal speakers. Your setup would not be compatible with Atmos though. You could also do 3.1.2 and use your surround speakers as overhead speakers for atmos. You can try both and see which setup you prefer. After all, it’s all about what you enjoy the most.

Hey my friend I think you have set your AVR the wrong way . The front speaker should be set to small and 80 hertz even if you using tower so the subwoofer will handle the bass from there . Also your LFE crossover is too high it should be set to 120 hertz you don’t want to have voice coming out of your subwoofer . This is THX standard recommendation
Those speakers can be set to large, per the speaker’s instructions and my measurements. They have built subwoofers and amps to handle deep bass. Most speakers should be set to small though. The LFE crossover in the bass section only handles bass effects from the lfe channel or the .1 channel. You will not have voices coming from that channel. It is best practice to set it to 120hz but there is no harm in setting higher since most if not all of the bass content from that channel comes in at under 120hz. The thing you don’t want to do is setting that lower than 120hz since you may be missing out on bass content from that channel.
I have the Denon S760H and following instructions to display Setup - I first push MAIN at top of Remote and then Setup - NOTHING happens - over and over......PLEASE Help if possible? TKS michael
Try plugging in the HDMI cable from the AVR to a different slot on the TV, i.e. HDMI 2. And if the menu still doesn't show, manually switch the source on the TV to the HDMI source that's connected to the AVR i.e. HDMI 2.
I’m still figuring out what works. You’re the second comment in about a week or so on the music. I already cut out the most of the music from the last video I posted. Thanks for the feedback.
I just want to connect some speakers to the receiver and I want to know if I would be able to use the different channels to listen to some of them only and mute some of them also.
Speaker size does not have to do with actually being large or small, if you set the speaker to LARGE, then they'll be considered full range speakers and all frequencies will attempt to play through them, this will cause distortion and excessive power draw typically. If you set them to small, then they will use a crossover. Example, set front and centers to SMALL, set crossover to 80hz, now anything below 80hz will play through your subwoofer instead of those speakers (there will be a roll off, not a hard stop). This will allow more power to be used for the mids and highs on the speakers, will prevent distortion, prevent over exertion and protect your speakers. It's weird wording but really has nothing to do with speaker size. 98% of the time, if you have a subwoofer, set all speakers to SMALL, and crossover to 80hz. Set subwoofer to LFE (default). You'd only set the speakers to large if they had an actual capable subwoofer, which if you're reading my comment and don't already know how to set it up, they probably don't.
LFE stands for Low Frequency Effects, and it's an audio track and input port on a subwoofer that reproduces deep bass sounds: Audio track LFE is a band-limited audio track that contains low frequency sounds, usually between 3-120 Hz. It's found in Dolby and DTS audio, and originated in Dolby Stereo 70 mm film. Input port The LFE input port on a subwoofer connects to an AV receiver and sends the LFE audio track to the subwoofer. This input is designed to enhance the bass response and listening experience, especially for home theater systems. Here are some tips for using LFE: Connect a single cable Connect a single cable to the LFE input on the subwoofer. Set the crossover Set the subwoofer's crossover control (low pass filter) to the maximum setting. Choose LFE or LFE+MAIN From your receiver's Bass - Subwoofer Mode menu, you can choose between LFE or LFE+MAIN. LFE+MAIN outputs both the LFE and low frequencies from all speaker channels to the subwoofer. Adjust the LFE level The LFE channel is usually recorded 10 dB lower than the main channels, so most processors automatically add 10 dB to restore the level. Use a subwoofer-designed cable Any cable designed for subwoofer use should work, and cheaper cables are fine.

Glad it helped!
I have 4 speakers in the ceiling. 2 a little in front of my listening position and 2 a little behind my sitting position .
Can I use the surround speakers ( little front in ceiling) as Dolby atmos and the one on the the back as the rear speaker ? With denon s 760 ?
I already setup my demon, but I wanna re setup now, how can I go to the setup menu? Thanks
I usually hit the setup button on the remote. I have a video about the menu: th-cam.com/video/Y9DO8B1B4_4/w-d-xo.html
How can I get audio out signal to an amplifier. Thank you
This receiver doesn’t have pre-out for connecting an amplifier. Do you mean for a zone 2 or all the channels?
@@Upscaled_HT just to get a output signal (heos or other signal) to run to amp. I could use a zone 2 output but I don't see zone 2 outputs on back of the amp.
@@cgl2309 Unfortunately it just doesn't have pre-outs.
@@Upscaled_HT thank you for the information Sir!
How do I get to Manual setup?
How do i get notified when you respond?
Does it upscale video?
It sure can.
Can I add a 5 channel power amp in here?
You can’t since it doesn’t have pre-outs.
How do I get more bass?
You can raise the level on the subwoofer in the main menu.
The background of ALL our movies are so extremely loud since adding our Denon and we can barely hear the voices what did we do wrong? HELP
Did you run the auto calibration with the included microphone?
I have the Denon S760H and following instructions to display Setup - I first push MAIN at top of Remote and then Setup - NOTHING happens - over and over......PLEASE Help if possible? TKS michael
Try plugging in the HDMI cable from the AVR to a different slot on the TV, i.e. HDMI 2. And if the menu still doesn't show, manually switch the source on the TV to the HDMI source that's connected to the AVR i.e. HDMI 2.
is that the newest Denon just came out ? wow that setup menu looks like the 1980's
Menu is a low point but it’s an entry level unit.
I've watched 2 videos. Please stop using that background music clip. You do not need it takes away form the video.
I’m still figuring out what works. You’re the second comment in about a week or so on the music. I already cut out the most of the music from the last video I posted. Thanks for the feedback.
I like it
It's fine music, it's just too loud. Keep it lower in the mix and you'll be fine.
add just the Audio from your favorite porn instead
Is there any app to control the receiver? If so, can you also control which channels you want to mute or listen?
I think there is a Denon app you can download. I don’t use it TBH. To you mean like going from 7.1 to 5.1?
I just want to connect some speakers to the receiver and I want to know if I would be able to use the different channels to listen to some of them only and mute some of them also.
@@jorgenrique77 you can probably switch to stereo which would be the front speakers only.
Great video
Thank you!
LFE stands for Low Frequency Effects, and it's an audio track and input port on a subwoofer that reproduces deep bass sounds:
Audio track
LFE is a band-limited audio track that contains low frequency sounds, usually between 3-120 Hz. It's found in Dolby and DTS audio, and originated in Dolby Stereo 70 mm film.
Input port
The LFE input port on a subwoofer connects to an AV receiver and sends the LFE audio track to the subwoofer. This input is designed to enhance the bass response and listening experience, especially for home theater systems.
Here are some tips for using LFE:
Connect a single cable
Connect a single cable to the LFE input on the subwoofer.
Set the crossover
Set the subwoofer's crossover control (low pass filter) to the maximum setting.
Choose LFE or LFE+MAIN
From your receiver's Bass - Subwoofer Mode menu, you can choose between LFE or LFE+MAIN. LFE+MAIN outputs both the LFE and low frequencies from all speaker channels to the subwoofer.
Adjust the LFE level
The LFE channel is usually recorded 10 dB lower than the main channels, so most processors automatically add 10 dB to restore the level.
Use a subwoofer-designed cable
Any cable designed for subwoofer use should work, and cheaper cables are fine.
Help can’t open setup via remote
I’m able to get it setup button on the remote. Are you watching content on a smart tv or from an HDMI connected device?
@@Upscaled_HT HDMI
@@patrickpicansoiv9938 I have never had any issues seeing the setup screen. I don't know what the problem could be.
Anyone know if it has in ceiling mode?
Do you mean for up firing speakers? If so, it does.
@@Upscaled_HT I only have ceiling speakers
You mean all of your speakers are in ceiling speakers?
I have this receiver but my surround sound speakers do not have any sound. The speakers work just no sound while watching tv. I lao have two bookshelf speakers and a center speaker which work perfectly. An idea why the surround sound speakers have no sound? Thank you
Thanks
thanks for info
Accidentally Reset Denon. Now my Audyssey won't recognize my klipsch rear surround speakers
They worked upon initial set up. Now driving me crazy trying to re-engage the rear speakers
Wow 😳! You just lost me 🥺
I'm trying to get my subwoofer to work
It’s less complicated than it looks.
Gave up on the vid. Backround music doesnt work
Fair enough
have you ever thought of learning what the menu does before you make a video about it? the amp assign you never once said what it was just " i have selected top middle" how about saying what the thing do , not just what you have yours set at.
Seems like Denon is still using the same old school menu in 2022 like they did my 10 year old Denon AVR. Very disappointing.
I can’t argue with that. It does what it needs to do though.
> doesn’t know how to set up AVR
> makes video anyway
> big ups
What are you referring to?
Seriously, why don’t you take the 5 hours or so to make a video and see how good it is.
Hey I have a couple of questions do u have a discord? Or any kind of messaging that I can contact you on?
