He makes it look easy! I have a lot of questions about finishing and sealing things before the mold making. Maybe you could do a video on getting smooth finishes related to off gassing and surface prep as many things that are applied to smooth like filler/primer, resins, paints, and sealers often mess up platinum silicone unless left to offgass/cure for many days.

Yes.. smooth finishes are always a challenge. I have seen many people go through laborious paint sand paint sand paint sand... would drive me nuts.
If you do paint, just use a tin cured silicone and avoid the inhibition thing all together. If the paint sticks to your mold afterwards when demolding, just slush cast fast set resin to 'shell' out the paint.
If you need to get a shine on something dull, you might experiment with a resin glaze. You will loose some detail, but it is possible with some practice. It takes finess to not pool or make a mess of things.
I even sent some resin parts out to be vacuum plated way back when. It was mixed results, but when it worked, it was gold.
There are many other ways... too many to type right now. Stay tunned! M

As a kid we had a magic store in Pasadena next to Pinocchios Pizzeria! The owner had a ton of cool mask in the back! Best times of my life!

I am convinced art exposure to children...even when it is subtle....matters greatly later in life. Thanks for connecting! Michael

Thank you for sharing. I will look into those and hope others who also didn't know about the classes will look into them as well.

Tuesday is Monday's little brother, but a new video release here definitely makes up for it!
Mould makers' high five back to you!
I've seen Jordu Schell on a Stan Winston School of Character Arts video or two. I don't think he is of German descent, Rob Freitas may be, though (the latter is an actual mould maker for the film industry). And whether or not Mr Schell is German, he certainly is a legend.
Edit: There's a free SWSCA chapter on mould making online featuring Bruce Spaulding Fuller, not Rob Freitas. The latter supposedly was too buisy making moulds. th-cam.com/video/0CNc9me4MMQ/w-d-xo.html

I watched the bruce video before. I was kinda bla about it. I thought it was a cool sculpt, but was not into the tech process. I will watch it again. Maybe I was just in bad mood.
Rob Freitas... I searched. does he have videos about the process? He sounds pretty top notch!
