When I started my mold making and casting journey, I started by watching the Brick in the Yard videos and ordering from his store. I was even lucky enough to work a show with a booth next to his, thus giving me the opportunity to pick his brain.
In my case I play with the shore scale for the silicone medical task trainers I make. There is a fine line between a soft skin like feel and the task trainers being durable enough for wound packing training. Another great video.
@wildgophers91 not exactly...I'm saying, if your silicone is translucent, pigment will help you visual confirm a good mix because you will see marbling/streaking if undermixed. Clear silicone (not translucent) are more expensive, and people buy clear for specific reasons. Some companies silicone are already pigmented so you can tell when mixed. If you're making prosthetics, you want translucent so you can add color to match skin tones.
13:15 was a funny moment! :D
Oh man the, “have one silicone, but use additives to modify it” is SUCH a good tip damn

Two component. I agree about the nomenclature; the engineers must be naming the products.
So are you saying buy a CLEAR silicone and then add pigment to one part so you know when it’s mixed?
