Laughing back and forth at what the other'n has to say
Reminiscing this and that and having such a good time
    Oo-de-lally, oo-de-lally, golly, what a day

With large trees like that, I’ve seen people chop one side for 5-10 min, then use the winch to break the tree. Force it to break where you chop. It works in a pinch. (If you have at least an axe) 👍🏻

I’m sorry but before I gave up and turned around and went all the way back. I would have tried a redirect and tried to pull it down the hill. I do enjoy your videos so very much. I wish I could get out and do the whole overlanding thing. But right now I’m recovering from my 12th back surgery so it looks like another year lost. So for now I have to live vicariously through your videos.

There’s a couple of famous spots in northern Idaho to check out that was featured in a popular 1990s disaster thriller. The town of Wallace, the Silver Bridge over the Coeur D’Alene River near Kingston and Mirror Lake. These were the filming locations of “Dante’s Peak”.

We were trying to go through the Magruder trail about the same time... (110 mile overland trail from Montana to Idaho) We also hit snow... deep snow. The road did open around the 15th of July... just a little too early this year to get through some of those roads! The trail we were on is on the other side of the Frank Church river of no return wilderness.... the Magruder corridor runs through two wilderness areas. One is 2.3 million acres and the other one is 1.3 million acres... and just a road between them! Awesome area!

Trips not over yet so after a toe dip on the Pacific (was going to go after Expo PNW where I had the good fortune to meet you both however July 4th week...) So now off to the Oregon Coast then 🧭

If it makes you feel any better, based on the amount of snowbanks in the lower elevations of the trail, you guys would have never made it to the summit and over the other side. There is a massive snow drift on the last switchback that forms every year. We've done this in late July and had the snowbank still be 12-15 feet tall blocking the road. Either way, great video and gorgeous area to explore!
