You're absolutely right on mate..😅 when I was younger we had a mate who was mid 20s and we were like 16-17-18ish.. he was called was Winston.."Winnie" "win" he was a good man he was, he passed away during covid from covid 🙏🏻 he was from Swansea, he was funny and just a gentle soul.
I love the idea that Shawn and meg met each other before it. I think that would have been cool. Also alternate ending would have been good but I love the shot of Shawn staring down the camera and not knowing if milky was ok until you see the show
I rented this at Blockbuster years ago. It was released as a single film in Canada on dvd. Wasnt aware it was an episodic, ongoing series till years later. Anyways, it used this ending, with him staring into the camera. Was surprised when I watched it again as a series, and it was different. Thought I'd imagined it!
It was always a single film initially. Thats how is was released in well.....England. The following one were made for TV as a series. Interesting they changed the ending abroad though.
I love every single on of these scenes. But I also see the glaring reasons why they needed to be taken out. I don't really see that often in deleted scenes.
Only just finding these now. Could watch these characters all day. Especially around this era. Stephen Graham is truly amazing. The cinematography is great too.
I think we all love this movie and the sequel in general because of 3 main reasons : 1. It is very damn realistic given the setting and the era it is trying to present 2. It’s based on life in the 80s and 90s when friendships and human relations were much more real than today! Particularly people from the working class 3. We all would love to have or have had a group of friends like Shaun and Co. Not all of us have been blessed by this kind of belonging to a group of friends at least permanently! That sense of togetherness through thick and thin! So when we watch it, we kinda become a member of the crew, living it in our imagination with the rest of them! I’m from the early 90s and consider myself lucky to have been from era in which I can totally relate to this movie and understand why it’s so good!
The original movie was based on skinhead sub-culture and it showed their inner workings . It was then again re-realeased but not as a movie but as a 4 part series . There are different versions of the series too but personally I'd suggest you watch this is emgland 86 mainly because that is the only spin off which retains the original characters from the movie . Plus its sort of a continuation as its set 3 years later from the movies end . Apart from 2 to 3 characters all the others aren't skinheads anymore but you can say they were like the early versions of chavs and it basically focuses more on mod revival scene sub culture . All in all its a really great watch and hard not to be impressed . The acting is top notch imo but you could decide for yourselves tho .
