Beautiful boat! I read that 70% of boats sold in Australia (where they are surrounded by big ocean) are cat's. This is a well thought out piece of engineering and art. Congratulations to LumaCat.
@@Le_person_au I probably should have qualified that better. It was from an Australian industry publication that stipulated the stats based on new boats registered under a given size. In any case, it was interesting to see as we don't have nearly that level of uptake on multihulls. :-)
@@duncanjames914 Technically Americans love thier pontoon boats... for all the same reasons, pontoons used to be cheaper also before they became super luxury craft. People that used to buy them years ago, are priced out of the new market and just end up buying them used.
I appreciate the video. I actually have already contacted the manufacturer because of your video, however I would like to suggest you next time ask for complete boat specs including weight, draft, fuel capacity, livewells, fish boxes, price etc. and atleast get a shot of the information placard. Would you have footage of the transom? Thanks and keep filming.
J unfortunately I cannot do the job of the sales people at any given manufacturing plant. My channel is just to get the initial interests of the product so that a consumer can get more information from them
I can find a lot of center console cats throughout the world. The hard part is finding aluminum in this size. I know covid has messed things up, so I am still patiently waiting on specifications on this lumacat in 22 & 24 size.
That toe hold "safety feature" is basically how my great grandpaw ripped his foot off all except a few tendons... he did this falling in his bathroom but same concept, they were going to take his foot but we said no, try and save it... turns out the Dr. said he had the bones of a 20 year old and he healed just fine, unfortunately he died a few years later with pneumonia and a combination of lack of empathy from Dr. s ... once you get a certain age many just consign you to death. Anyway just imagine yourself slipping loose of the handhold in some crazy situation and all your body weight potentially could end up snapping your ankle.... if you were to fall straight back.
@@jaycordeiro905 I am not an expert on this one. I am getting a small inflatable catamaran which is known to cavitate since it can only fit one engine (but the cavitation can be fixed by "cupping" the prop). You can google for "single engine catamaran cavitation" and there is quite a bit of info on this topic.
@@axscdvfb I have only ever owned mono hulls with single motors so I am no expert on cats either. I have been strongly considering getting twins for offshore running so if cavitation is really a concern it's probably best for my situation to go twins. I am looking for something a little larger so I am going to wait for them to email me back after this covid19 mess is over.
These look strikingly similar to the original Minicats designed and built in New Zealand www.alloycats.co.nz/our-boats/trailerable-powercats/ We have had this product on the market for about 6 years now, the similarities are too coincidental and the guy in this video has been to our factory and test drove our range.....just saying!!!
dont know if anyone cares but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch all the latest movies on Instaflixxer. I've been watching with my brother during the lockdown :)
Yea nah not for me looks like a big tin can really i dont like the designe or anything if your looking for a very nice all purpuse cat go and hava look at noosa cat or shark cat the true history of cats in aus
What an insensitive snowflake. Can you imagine someone complaining about a cold place that drizzel's and rains all day. No wonder why you are in a bad mood.
Great boat - wonderful design- great craftsmanship

Not quite accurate but they are highly regarded hulls

Those are cool cats

Why didn't he show the price?
Cat + single engine = cavitation?
How so? Does the water in the middle get disturbed by the twin hulls of a cat?

I was thinking this as well...isn't there a saying "being copied the greatest compliment"?
What bullshit, how can someone claim they've made a great boat when it's a complete rip off of another companies boat
It does look like a minicat but its more the size of a powercat. I don't suppose alloycats has a dealer in North America?
Cost?
Why bring your lower model to a show
I was thinking the same thing, Show the Options!

Oh yes I watch you everyday
I hope to see you at a boat show in Florida! I’m supposed to be going to the Palm Beach show.
It needs 2 motors....1 dont cut it...especially if you are taking it off-shore out into the big blue.
