    What are the pros of running the block off plates vs a hose through both sides of the reed valves

    Thanks for this video Brad, Ordered the bypass from your site so I can do this to my '21 ZX6 soon. Question, I have been suggested that I remove the evaporations canister in addition to this mod while I have the bike apart. Have you done this or do you suggest doing this? Im not sure what codes it might throw on the dash and what all I need to be aware of if I attempt it myself. Thanks

      Glad the Vid helped you out. Thanks for your business. Most people do remove the EVAP canister at the same time and also recommend doing it. It's not as critical for performance since the EVAP doesn't have anything to do with tuning. But it does save some weight and get a lot of junk out of the way. If you simply unplug it yes, it will trigger a check engine light.
      I sell a bypass for that as well: kawasakibrad.com/shop/ols/products/purge-valve-bypass. Similar plug to the PAIR valve but different electronics. That's why I have the PAIR bypass with red bands and the PURGE bypass with green.

    I watched another video where he took out another plate under where the block off plate would be. Just curious as to what your thoughts on this might be. It was a 2020 model

      I think you're talking about that weird Reed valve thing? Yes, on some bikes there is a metal plate that goes with the gasket on the downside of this situation.
      That's what the recess (hollowed out) portion of the cap is for.

    So say I don't want to tune the engine or dyno, but just want to get rid of the California emissions crap is that ok? What kind of results will I get from just deleting the emissions or should I have it tuned afterwards because of removing the emissions

    • @speeddemon370
      @speeddemon370  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no performance gain or loss. Just less popping and backfiring (especially on decel). No tune required but when/if you do dyno tune the bike later this is pretty much mandatory. kawasakibrad.com/shop/ols/products/pair-delete-kit

    For the 07 ZX6R, since you dont offer a bypass for it on your website (09-up), does that mean it may not throw a FI light with the air valve disconnected?

    • @speeddemon370
      @speeddemon370  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey JF, the Switching Valve on the O7-O8 is 16126-1437 and was substituted in 09 for a valve that does the same thing, has the same plug, and fits in the same spot. Long story short, yes it will still throw a code but the good news is my bypass will work with your bike. I'll update the site accordingly today.
      Great find and I'm glad I got a chance to look in to it. If you want, HMU on the contact tab of kawasakibrad.com and I'll give you a discount. :)

    instead of the block plates cant you just run a pipe from one flange to the other? im doing mine atm and im trying to keep it budget and im thinking it could work as the will be kind of closed? less cleaner then yours of course but would it work ?

    • @speeddemon370
      @speeddemon370  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, it would work but it needs to be very heat resistant. It's exhaust gasses in there so a generic plastic hose will light on fire.
      The plates are $35 CAD at kawasakibrad.com
      Small price to pay to NOT burn your bike down.

      PURGE valve and PAIR valve are completely different things. I have a PURGE valve bypass available at kawasakibrad.com (search PURGE in the search bar). But this video has absolutely nothing to do with the PURGE setup.

      10w is a pretty hefty resistor how can I verify the wattage of the resistor that I need?

    • @speeddemon370
      @speeddemon370  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@brendanlee3852 I verified with trial and error a long time ago. You're probably right that a 10w is overkill, but if memory serves correct a 3or4 watt still burnt. I don't think it's the wattage so much as heat dissipation. It get's really hot under there and every time I've had a smaller resistor burn out it was after a really long hard ride on a hot day. Never had a 10watt fail and they're pretty cheap so I just stuck with that.
      If you find that a 5w works for you please post back and confirm, but I wouldn't go less than 5w and there's no real price difference between a 5w and 10w anyways.

    • @brendanlee3852
      @brendanlee3852 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perhaps one of the 10w resistors with a heat sink would provide additional heat dissipation. I consulted with a friend who is skilled with electronics. He said voltage divided by resistance gives you current 12v/20=0.6A, then you can multiply amperage by voltage to find wattage 0.6 x 12 = 7.2W and he said 10w sounds appropriate
