The irony of the cover for “Inhabit the Earth” and the designers other non-Key game being called “Reef Encounter” is too much to not ignore.

Great video once again. I was very sad when Sam left, but I have always enjoyed Mike especially when he appeared on "This Game is Broken", and his addition to the Dice Tower has brought the channel to a new level of humor and fresh takes. Well done DT. Also I gave my friend my copy of "Inhabit the Earth" with it still in shrink, because I had it unopen for years. It has been about 5 years and that game still sits on his shelf in shrink. This list was the motivation I needed to convince my group to play that game!

The first game I thought of was Sunset Over Water. Zee did a great review of it years ago and I eventually got this game and love it! Beth Sobel did all the gorgeous artwork on this and she has done many other games including Cascadia and a little game we picked up, Subastral. Subastral also has a nature theme.
I haven't played many of these games, including Meadow, but that feeling you three were describing is Sunset Over Water for me.

It is so fantastic artwork! And Gameplay... just wonderful.
In my top list would be 'Myrmes' on second Place and 'endangered' on the third... maybe 'Papillon' somewhere and 'Renature' ... even if it's really mean ;)

The Inhabit the Earth cover had us laughing and trying to guess what the alternate names for the game could be, which derailed us for 20 very productive minutes. I believe it's a copy/homage to the very nice cover art of Wildlife Adventure, which makes the cover choice even sillier. Next up is the artist's homage to Monet's lily pad series of painting, now with varicose veins and googly eyes.

2:36 -2:56 was AMAZING. Really skirting the line on the family friendly lines there. Mike channeling his inner Potter Stewart (maybe he IS the former Justice and is showing his true age!) Follow that with his "peak behind the curtains" and I was losing it.

I get the “this is too abstract” argument, I do, but when you think about any board game and think of what they would be like if you removed all of the abstraction…it makes me laugh, lol!
Example: I love Wingspan, but cleaning up the bird poop and getting the birds back in the box can REALLY be a headache!

36:20 But as a 2-player game, I felt the game is very tight (a good thing for me), and that it was a little mean - because one player will continue to use the camera - and it is very much to my incentive to continue to take the camera from my opponent, otherwise he/she will just run away with easy points - which, in a 2-player game is a sure way to lose the game (if you ask me - it doesn’t seem as balanced). Of course, I cannot speak for 3+ player games, maybe more players being there fixes this issue. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed the game the one time I played it. I had squeaked by, barely, with the win (2 players), but again, I attribute that to keeping my opponent’s use of the camera - in check - by taking the camera away enough times.

Perfectly ripe pears beat almost any other fruit in deliciousness. All other pears are a slightly grainy, rock hard, pale immigration of an apple. Try buying those really expensive gift pears at Christmas that are wrapped in gold foil and sold in specialty stores. They are devine ....and so are the pears you leave on your trees until fully ripe (Christmas time) after a few hard frosts, and then pick and eat the same day. Divine. If you haven't had a ripe pear, you haven't had a pear.
How good would you think plums were if you had only ever eaten them green?

I feel like this list fills itself. Everyone must have Bosk, Photosynthesis, Wingspan, and Parks do that's 4 3-way crossovers already and I haven't even watched the video.
Edit: Whaaa how did no one put photosynthesis on??? At all???
