      @@evelynmic1681 please you should try it because it is the last longer stew ever in this world. In Ghana students in the hostel and boarding schools are the ones who mostly use it. It can last for even more than even a year without nothing happening to it and it has a good taste

    Hi People!...Wendell B Smith..From The Sunshine State Of Florida. Now That I Have Dispensed Of The Introduction, This "Shito"..Was, What Made Me What I Am, Today! Being Born And Raised, In England, My Parents One Day, Decided, I Would Be "Better Off",..& "More Disciplined", In A Boarding School, In Ghana!..I Was Horrified!..I Was "Shipped"..To My Alma Mater(Which I Don't Care To Disclose),..In Cape-Coast. Now, Those 18 Months, Prepping For My GCE 'A' Levels,..In Science, Eating, Gari, Sardines, Canned Mackerels,..Canned Corned Beefs,..Became The "Moral Conerstone", Of My Adult Life!..And I Would Not Trade That, For Anything, Period! Good evening mam how are you doing?I came across your video some weeks ago and I'm so so happy that I found you..I am a Sierraleonean and my partner is a ghanian. We've been one year together and after watching most of your videos,I decided to follow your recipe on how to cook shito for my very first time and my very first ghanian food..I surprise today my partner by cooking shito for him,and he is shocked and very happy at the same...The shito came out amazing,and I also gave some to my ghanaians friends and they all can't believe it is my first time cooking a ghanian food...So I really want to say a HUGE thank you for sharing your recipes with us..I'm really so grateful to you ma....I am definitely going to be watching all of your videos. May Jehovah continues to bless you abundantly...

    My goodness where have you been all my life!! Your food lessons are absolutely ah-mazing! Tried your okra soup method and it came out perfect.
    Now I live in the states too, so where did you get the dried shrimp and fish of that quantum pls? And can you use ordinary onion if shallots are hard to find?

      Lol! I so glad you found me Kwart Kwart! I’m thrilled to learn of your successful replication of my Okro Soup recipe👍🏽😊🙏🏿! I purchase the shrimp and fish from my local Ghanaian grocery shop, and you may certainly use any kind of onion accessible to you, it will work perfectly either way, red, white, or yellow onions are just as great. Thank you so much!

    I’m a Belgian lady and i looooovvve you’re recipes. Now i can cook food for my Ghanian man . One question about the shito, when it’s ready and you fill the glass pots , does it has to stay open & cool down first before putting in the fridge ? Or can you close them when still warm and put in the fridge like that? Thanks for the great video’s & yummy food ❤

    • @NanaabasKitchen
      @NanaabasKitchen  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very good question! Please let them completely cool down before applying the lid, then store in the fridge or at room temperature.

    Hi Nanaaba, thank you so much for your videos, they help me a lot when I want to do Ghanaian recipes. But I desperately need your help. Sorry it will be a long text 🙈.
    I dreaded making shito, even after watching your video many times. After braving doing it I quite enjoyed it and apart from not having much oil when it was done it was ok.
    Since then I've made it two more times but when it cools down, (I put it inside a pet plastic jar) it becomes hard 😭😭😭. I don't know what I'm doing. The first time I put it in more oil but I ended up burning it (I'm quite impatient 😢), the second time I didn't try to fix it because after adding the blender pepper and shrimp again my impatience made me burn it slightly again 😭😭.
    What am I doing wrong that it becomes hard when it cools down?
    The second time I put it in the pet jar when it was cool down to room temperature, the third time I let it completely cool down to room temperature in the pot first then I put it in the pet jars.

    Hi nana! When cooking the beef, I first cut up the beef and cook it in the onion/garlic/ginger mixture with a beef cube first, then transfer it to another pot with coconut oil to get it dry and crunchy?

    I liked because of the last statement lol, that waakye is not your mama's waakye. haha. I like how cooking is a competition among Ghanaians. So many ways of making shito, so i don't understand the dislikes smh. my mom taught me hers and she uses tomatoes and tomato paste I realized a lot of people don't. straining the wet ingredients is a good idea, I'm going to pick that up and add to mine. you're dope.

    I know it would be so nice to make my own shito at home. Marinated steaks, chops sing with flavor!! I simply make myself go to the African market for the convenience of the jarred shito which is quite good but homemade would surely be better. Don't miss my Ghanaian spouse but do miss the community, I'll try your method. Chili? What kind? Thank you.
