Wow. Thank you for the tutoral. This was the first song I was taught to play on the guitar, by Roy Wood of The Move, E.L.o fame, many years ago. Roy just taught me the basic chords, as you have just shown. A massive thank you, & now can play it correctly.

Best way to think of a rake is the way the old Ships of the Line would peel fire their guns, one at a time but in quick succession, whereas a broadside is akin to a strum.

I’ve watched a few tutorials and you’re the first to mention the difference between strum and rake. I am not 100% sure the difference but will watch some of your other vids. Is Rake more controlled? Thanks for the vid!

Thanks so much for watching! The rake is more controlled yes. More deliberate. Slower than just strumming.
