  • Paltrow juror speaks about case, says testimony of biomedical expert made difference for her in Gwyneth Paltrow trial.
    Sam Imrie, juror number 11, claimed the jury's other members were "on the same page" when it came time to decide in the Terry Sanderson v. Gwyneth Paltrow ski crash trial.
    “I think we were sympathetic to both of them, we’re humans,” she said. “But we can’t let that affect us in our decision-making.”

    Gwyneth Paltrow testified that Terry Sanderson's ski's went between her ski's/legs and she fell on top of him. I find it hard to believe that Gwyneth Paltrow was skiing with her legs in a wide position. When a person is skiing, their legs are not spread wide enough for another skier's ski's to go between their legs? She admitted during her testimony that she fell on top of Terry Sanderson. Gwyneth Paltrow weighs approximately 130 to 140 lbs. The weight of Gwyneth Paltrow falling on top of Terry Sanderson could definitely have caused 4 broken ribs on a 70 plus year old man. Terry Sanderson should have been awarded damages for his medical bills, as well as, for pain and suffering resulting from 4 broken ribs. Gwyneth Paltrow should have been responsible for Terry Sanderson's attorney fees. Poor eye contact when juror #11 was asked, "How much was CELEBRITY a factor...? Juror #11 responded, "I can honestly say that CELEBRITY wasn't a factor." 🤔 Gwyneth Paltrow recklessly pulled out in front of a school bus on a scooter with her daughter Apple riding on the back of the scooter. What would have happened if the video of Gwyneth Paltrow recklessly pulling out in front of the school bus was never recorded, and the bus driver had hit Gwyneth Paltrow causing serious bodily injury or death? I can tell you that the bus driver would not have had a leg to stand on, even though she would have been the cause of the accident. Skiers should be required to carry insurance and be licensed before flying down a mountain going as fast, if not faster than a vehicle.

      Im just a law student and i agree. I also wondered why they focused so much on his injuries. I know they have to prove his injuries, but isnt their case killed if they can't prove (or convince the jury) that GP CAUSED the accident ? He can be injured and still be at fault. And if he is at fault, she is not legally responsible for paying him for his injuries. So, didnt his victory dépend soley on HER being the cause?
      And then, if you noticed last monday when defense got access to thr gopro link, the plaintiff lawyer Sykes, actually said: "we will stipulate no one is at fault for thr accident." Which i gathered, because he never brought it up again, that THAT was something hisbside cannot stipulate too (without, really, completely giving up their case entirely).
      Just HOW could TS be entitled to any money if GP wasnt at fault for thr collision? And why wouldnt the plaintiff's attorney's spend atleast as much time in proving fault as they did with proving injury. I just don't get it. Is there a legal scenario where GP would have to pay TS for injuries she didnt cause? Make it make sense for me. Lol i beg you. Its been driving me nuts since the first day of trial after hearing plaintiff's friend/"eyewitness" testimony. And then hearing Sykes make that offer of stipulation just made me lose it. HOW could plaintiff's side possibly give up that argument, that GP was at fault for the collision and their case still survive? What were they thinking/doing? Honestly, even with TS as a client, i think I, me, still à student, could have put on a better case than his lawyers did. (I also would have felt ethically obligated to inform him that he didnt have a good or strong case, and let him now just what HE could be on the hook for if he lost, and honestly advise against a suit like this.)

      @paulk.4261 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@alyssaheller7860 You are 100% correct in your points. TS should have been "counseled" from the start that he has little to zero chance by his lawyers (ethically and as a practical matter). I'm sure your law professors are teaching you now...when the "facts" are NOT favorable to your client THEN argue the "law" and vice versa. But in this case, neither the law nor the facts supported TS's case and so his "counsel" FOCUSED SOLELY on the "injured ribs" UNDER-estimating the jury's intellect hoping the severity of the ribs would take center stage and impute fault/liability on GP. This case was a NON-case from the start. IMHO TS's attorneys KNEW they would not make a dime...but did it for notoriety...lastly if there was any IOTA of merit in this case it would have SETTLED QUIETLY behind closed doors LONG AGO.

Didn’t believe Ramon especially after watching his footage aired in the press conference in 2019 compared to his testimony. Also his lawyers lied several times in opening & throughout the trial regarding Carrie Oaks deposition. No one was saying watch me ski during the run. It was said at the top of the hill. @@paulk.4261 I read that originally GP offered to pay for his medical bills, but since he went to the VA, his bills were covered and he wanted a payout. He refused to settle, so it had to go to court. I also don't understand why his lawyers were allowed to keep saying Ramone was an eyewitness who saw the collision. Ramone testified that he heard a scream, then he looked and they were already on the ground. So he did not see the collision, but the plaintiff attorneys kept falsely claiming this. The ski instructor actually also did not see the collision, but he saw more than Ramone, that Sanderson was skiing fast across the entire run, edge to edge, and GP was skiiing slower (to keep pace with her kids more or less) only on the right side. And Sanderson was blind in his right eye. The ski instructor was a far more credible witness. It didn't help that Ramone's story changed so much and was so implausible. He left his friend face down in the snow. He didn't call the ski patrol. He skied away afterwards. All things he condemned others for doing. And Sanderson admitted in his depositions he exaggerated his symptoms to doctors to get their attention, at one point telling one that he was unconscious for ten minutes. He basically said that's what one does to get attention. Well this trial was a big attention getter, and his story changed so much from deposition to trial and even at trial. I am glad the jury came to the right decision. No GP fan myself, but that guy seemed like a grifter to me.

To this day I do not remember what led to the incident, other than some details given to me through my father’s investigations, I learned from the hospital that I had been struck and had suffered head trauma which caused me to loose segments of my memory that night. she says: "I think its important for the public to know..." So she doesn't think of herself as a lowly member of the public, at least, not while she's being interviewed like a stage star. And she was excited to be in the jury room, finally getting the chance to have her own say after having had to keep quiet for a whole fortnight. I wonder if the doorway will be big enough to get her inflated head through it?

    Great juror. I am glad her and probably some other jurors had skiing experience.

    It made me laugh day 1 when everyone was blaming GP.
    Before they'd heard any testimony. Or evidence.
    I'm very surprised nobody had a GoPro on.

    She is very cute and honestly answers questions for us so we may know the rest of the story.

    I’m so glad they found the bindings evidence to be the lynchpin. That is what made me pretty sure he ran into her or at least they ran into each other. Glad she (the juror) can get back to her life.

    One of the things that I noticed in the trial was that Mr. Sanderson, or at least someone on his side, stated that there were hardly any people on the slope, then said there were a lot of people on the slope. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    The reporter interviewing the juror asked a lot of stupid questions.

    She must have been one of the juniors that Gwynith smiled at.
