      Yes it is very entertaining to say the least. I met Lee Priest over 20 years ago and he was not as cynical as he is now. I honestly liked him back then. Honestly now the only thing he seems to do is make fun of people honestly I can't blame him in some cases or most cases I should say. The only reason I don't like to watch Lee is because he bashes his fans for asking him questions that are very serious to them. Some guy asked about the macronutrient ratios in his diet and he says laughingly that was bulshit and just go work out and eat. It's not that easy for most to say the least as you already know I'm sure. Most of us don't have Lee Priest genetics. I can understand trashing people that have done something to you but not your fans. Anyway enough preaching about the priest I agree with you this is some funny some funny shit!

      @@BJETNT it’s about perspective. He’s not being mean he’s being honest. He’s saying what he thinks and not bullshitting, laugh it off. Why ask Lee questions about macros when he doesn’t know because he never needed to know due to his genetics? It’s not that deep. He isn’t malicious.

    • @BJETNT
      @BJETNT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GG-kn2se You're right I wouldn't have asked him. I'm a dietitian I wouldn't have asked him anything in the first place. But that's not the only instance that I'm talking about. Like he makes fun of people posing with him like on his arm shots when they get a picture with him. All your arms never going to be as big as mine so why do you even bother That's not the point they just want to picture posing with him. I never got real famous. Biggest I ever won was a state show. I really surprised me how famous I got after that for a little while. I think only because I was completely natural is the reason I got semi-famous. I was just never mean to the people that were cool with me. I got asked a lot of them questions but I didn't respond by making fun of them.

    I have to agree with Lee, a bodybuilder career can be quite short and still some athletes can go a full year without competing. That's laziness.

    • @BJETNT
      @BJETNT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was around watching bodybuilding since the early 90s. And the amount of pharmaceuticals that goes into a contest prep now it might not be financially doable for a lot of these guys to do more than one show a year. I know guys that are doing over 20 injections a day and they're not even Pro. In the early days when they were just using a little bit of growth hormone maybe insulin, and didn't waste 300 pounds on the average it was a lot easier to compete many times. Also the more times a year you diet down the harder it is to stay that big. Granted there are some phenoms that can do it like Ronnie Coleman back in the day but if you really want to maximize everything including what little money you have competing once a year might be the best way. But if you're a pro bodybuilder if your kind of your obligation to compete as much as you can. The main reason I would not want to be under contract if I was like that is because they would tell me when and where to be. I almost got a sponsorship when I was in my twenties. They wanted me to move to Europe and pay me less money than I was making now for telling me when to jump and how high. I turned it down I I'm not that stupid. It also was not a major company like the Olympians would deal with or something like that. Just telling you my opinion from a lot of guys I know I ran health clubs off and on for 25 years I still do. Mostly in New Orleans. Anyway I totally get where you're coming from take care and stay safe

      I jumped in my chair when I read what you just put. Twinlab used to be the Pinnacle of supplements on the planet just some of their old products would still blow everything away. I started bodybuilding in 1993 and 99% of the supplements I had was manufactured by twinlab. I usually Haney's Mass fuel and Sport fuel multivitamin with several other things. I had to add Designer Protein because Matthew old and not have enough protein in it and it was the only predigested whey protein back then. It tasted awesome but as a natural athlete back then way more carbs and I needed LOL. It's hard to believe muscular development is the kids of the people that used to only twinlab. They have gone downhill ever since the mid-90s. I do not have even one of their supplements anymore nor the magazine because it is went to s*** to!! That is hilarious you are the first person I've ever heard mention that beside myself. Anyway thanks for the laugh and take care of yourself.

      @mjnar1 ripped fuel is what originally helped me lose 100 lb of body fat when I was 17 between my junior and senior year. I weighed 252 and got down to 150 lb and still didn't have abs because I overdid it by a long shot and had no clue what I was doing. The following year I was able to put on another 35 lb to get it to 180 lean. Now I'm 242 lean on an average. Plus I still know how to get ephedrine legally

      I think he's actually right but you got to understand the amount of pharmaceuticals these guys use compared to what they did back in the day. It's extremely dangerous to do what they do one time of year not to mention expensive. Back in the day they didn't have to balance all the different peptides multiple doses of insulin and HGH. Unless you're getting all that stuff giving to you I don't see how they afford it anyway and I make a good living at what I do. If you're not a pro making at least five hundred grand a year from being that way dieting down three to four times a year will be Financial suicide. Not to mention suicide drum side effects anyway. Back in the day you can probably still have a pretty normal life competing multiple times a year. I know exactly what went into it. But now days in order to win or even come close you have to live and breathe it from the moment you wake up till the moment you wake up the next day 24/7 the entire year. And even that might not work because somebody could afford better drugs more drugs or have better genetics. Unless you have Supreme genetics and a healthy trust-fund bodybuilding is a very very tough sport

      bodybuilding is a mix of pageant and sport, they gotta train so they look better on stage, in pageants they girls competing in them just turn up and pose. Dont think its fair to call bodybuilding just a paegent

    • @BJETNT
      @BJETNT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As much as I hate to agree with that statement I do completely. It's not who is the best bodybuilder and most complete on stage at the time! He hasn't been since 1980 when Schwarzenegger had the show rigged for him to win. Anybody that seen that show knows it was rigged. Four out of the six judges were his best friends and he was losing the Mike Mentzer who had a perfect score in the prejudging and then all the sudden passed him in the Regular Show yeah right!!!! Schwarzenegger look great for a movie star but for a bodybuilder he was lacking in several spots that he had had before.
      I one the only show I ever did. I was extremely shocked not only did I won but that there local boy did not make the top five. It was obvious he shouldn't have but that never stopped favoritism before. I think the only reason I won is because the top five competitors we're all from different places then the hometown. They didn't really have a choice except to pick the best out of those five because there's wasn't up there for them to cheat for. When I was in Alaska in my teens Vic Washington won mr. Alaska and was phenomenal and the second-place runner-up was at least 15% lower than him. The only thing he had was a good most muscular and Vic was perfect all the way through. And it came down to a split decision because all the judges for the most part worked out the same gym as the second-place guy Gold's Gym. They finally gave it to the right guy wish I was shocked but they would have had people throwing stuff at them if they didn't. For bodybuilding to be ever taken seriously we have to get favoritism and you got to pay your dues attitude out of the sport. At least have rotating judges at the Olympia show like Shawn Ray suggested. When Ronnie Coleman wasn't at the Olympia he got fourth place in my hometown of New Orleans at the GNC show of strength. Gunther won that year and he should have. He looked phenomenal and some people even say Ronnie should not have gotten 4th because it was too high. They need to make an AI that can judge bodybuilding. Because people are inherently flawed and no favoritism whether they mean to or not sometimes. I have probably done it myself but I am not a judge

    Twinlab used to be the best company by far on the Market. The early nineties they were the best products out there and muscular development for the longest time was the best magazine. I can honestly say those products that magazine had an extremely positive impact on my life. The only one that beat it was Optimum Sports Nutrition from Colgan Institute. They must be being nice about Steve Bleckman because that man man should take the best company in the industry and turn it into something that I don't even buy one of their products and I was their biggest fan. It was twinlab and Weider products back in the day and that was pretty well it. Weider did not come close to what twinlab made. Because of bodybuilding I got into nutrition and have a masters in dietetics. It's how I make my living. Twinlab was a decade ahead of its time as far as the products they had. A twinlab sponsorship would have been my life goal as a teenager! Nowadays I wouldn't even put my name next to it. It really is a shame that they screwed over all these great bodybuilders and did not pay them. I don't know how these guys work for Steve Blackman after some of the stories they said. I don't mean about being gay I mean just about how neurotic he was. These guys must be saints to have let him live and not ring his neck.

    I started watching this show recently. I know! Ive been hiding under a rock! Lol.
    I grew up waiting to buy the next magazine off the shelf.
    Now. I see so much personality behind the physique. Lee Priest is obviously as perceptive as he is genetically gifted. Bodybuilding has lost its edge. It needs more mystery.
    More secrets. Who in this world? Puts on a set of straps? Wraps their hands around a predetermined motion(weighted machines)
    Then think its what you put in your body? You will get out.
    Powerlifting. Olympic lifting. Bodybuilding. Bodybuilding has become soft. Simple math! Stay in a dark cave.
    Eat bats & rocks! Resurrect
    untouchable. Eg(Dorian yates)
    The more you show the world what you think you can do?
    The more pressure you put on yourself to fail. When you do fail? You may never recover.
    Cover your body when you train. Look deep into your eyes when they bleed. Sweat. Grind. Destroy. The world doesnt decide how you change! You do! Lift some heavy assed weights & stay out of the public. Shock Thearapy! Rx muscle is awesome! I love all these ol school muscleheads!!!
    Lift some fucking weights!! Train hard. Train smart! Respect! 👊

    Lee said it the best as well about bodybuilding being lazy. You hear all the guys talking about how it's been the worst year or you know they all went through something. But no offense you lift weights I mean I do it too but I mean I don't compete. So you lift weights and then you sit around and wait for your next meal. And then when you die it doesn't suck yeah. But what about the normal or everyday man or woman that works 8 to 12 hours a day and then goes to the gym. Even and the Army for 12 years and ranger battalion you know our work days were commonly 14-hour days we did PT for 2 hours in the morning and then did it again 4 in the afternoon and then I went home and worked out. In the gym. Even fit it in during Iraq. So when I hear bodybuilders that compete say certain things got in the way. I mean come on bro it could definitely be a lot harder. I remember when I used to wrestle through high school and then do Army combatives in boxing and cut weight from 205 down to 170 and I would do that within two or three days and then obviously drink water and car back up probably did that 50 *. Now that sucked that's why I did that for years. I used to get down to 150. Point is Lee is right

      I know what you did was definitely not lazy as a matter of fact it was excruciating. The thing is now they know better than a lot of that type of thing. Getting massively dehydrated and coming down like you did can cause long-term brain damage even kidney damage to say the least. I am a dietitian and have been doing this kind of thing for 27 years as a matter of fact that's what my Master's is in. I'm not saying there aren't lazy bodybuilders because I know a lot of them. But when you consider the copious amounts of drugs food and overall stress and damage you put on your body with nowadays bodybuilding shows doing it four times a year is just going to make you age fast and not to mention but you a million dollars in debt because of all the Pharmaceuticals you've got to take. If I was a pro and did not have to rely on my money just from bodybuilding shows I would probably just compete once maybe twice a year to make sure I put my all into it and to make sure I live past 50. I've had a lot of friends that have died in the last 10 years because of the amount of training and drugs they have done to compete multiple times of year. The ones that don't compete mirrors often don't tend to die and go downhill as fast as the others. Just the use of HGH thyroid and clenbuterol alone for competing is practically suicide. So the least amount you have to do it the better. Clenbuterol alone can destroy your heart in 6 weeks. Most people use it and in my mind is a frivolous drug if you know what you're doing as far as dieting. I got down to 5% as a natural athlete and never use those type of drugs. I did try them later on just to see what they would do and it just wasn't necessary. I would rather diet down an extra month than rather destroy my heart or take that kind of risk. Thyroid on top of that just makes it more powerful and all of them use it for the most part because it's necessary to diet down that fact to be able to compete multiple times a year. In this sport it doesn't do you any good for the most part to be more hardcore than the other one unless you're smarter also. I'm 44 and then in this business since I was 17 and I've seen dozens of my friends died that argued with me. I've used drugs as far as bodybuilding goes and even other drugs and you know what my health is 100% fine at 44. And I'm the lucky one because I did stupid stuff too. Bodybuilding though can be just as bad as a cocaine habit or even worse than you do one show a year much less three to four or more. A lot of guys would just disappear and you never hear from them anymore is because they had an enlarged heart and were told that they didn't stop weight training and doing the drugs entirely they would die of congestive heart failure. Lee Priest talk s*** but he was one of them that almost died. He had a 17% injection fraction on his heart in anything below 55% is considered heart disease. Mine is about 85 percent. He says he got it from a virus and he's full of s*** because us that know better know that would have killed him because there was no cure for that at the time. And you're telling me a guy that weigh 300 pounds in the offseason got to 17% ejection fraction from not doing steroids and clenbuterol yeah right! By the time you notice that he couldn't breathe when he laid down. And if he caught it that late and it wasn't a virus he wouldn't be here to talk shit now. All competing more dies with increase the wear and tear on your body. All the old-school guys for the most part just like the sound extremely hardcore like they could beat the guys now and most of them in reality couldn't. I wouldn't even want to try to go up against some of these guys now just from the amount of drugs it would take. Look what happened to Ronnie Coleman and he had the best genetics on the planet. His heart didn't go out but everything else did. There's nothing hardcore about being in a wheelchair or a casket. But all that being said some of these guys complete pussies!!! Because they wouldn't have anything if it wasn't for the drugs they take rather than the hard work most put in back then. The amount of frogs these guys use a specially igf-1 and growth hormone makes it so easy as unbelievable. It's like waving a magic wand!!! When I first tried juice I put on 50 lb in the first year lean. The problem is I was able to use such heavy weights that is put me needing 11 surgery by the time I was 28 years old. If I would have had the information and Technology available today it would have been the same.

      He says that I think your blame it on his wife but he has kids running around and he's a smart and decent dad from what I've seen. I would not wear a shirt like that because I would not want my kids doing that or repeating it. It's one thing to do it when they get older but completely different when a five-year-old is running around saying those kind of things. Maybe my children and I are weird because I could read at that stage mainly because my mom and dad we're very attentive and I'm the same way with my kids. Honestly just the way I look at it if my child asked me what my shirt said and I had to lie to them I would not be a good father
