      That is a tantamount lie! The steroid testing alone would fail the entire program. And if bodybuilding was allowed, then the entire Olympics would be nothing but steroid users, etc: swimming, wrestling, track and field, it would be ridiculous.

    I love this guy. This is a real man. Forget all these stupid Alpha Male vids on the internet. This guy is the real deal. He is a world champion bodybuilder 8 times over. Has a good marriage with his wife of 32 years. Stays in shape. Is articulate. Believes in God. Went after what he wanted in life and follows his passion. Is a good role model. This is the type of guy I would want my son to be if I had one.
    Though I wouldn't want my kid involved in competitive bodybuilding these days due to I think it is extremely unhealthy. You can't be natural and be competitive.

      @@tales2797 Interesting question, my friend. I've been in pastoral since 1985 and no one has ever asked me that question! You're the first! The only resource I look to for all matters of faith and conduct is the Bible. That said, I can strongly affirm the fact that anabolics have no bearing on one's eternity. Of course, the inappropriate use of any drugs can boost one into eternity a lot sooner. But whether or not a person goes to heaven or hell is exclusively based on what a person does with Jesus Christ. Only through faith alone in Jesus as Savior and Lord is necessary for eternal life (John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8,9). We need to believe in His substitutionary death on the cross and bodily resurrection from the dead in order to be right with God (1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 10:9,10). Hope this helps! Jeff

    It was the SCIENCE of Conditioning and Bodybuilding that I LOVED and figured "If I can Increase my Chest and Body by Exercise,,,, than I'll have MORE ROOM to Hold Off/Live with my Asthma!"
    That Whole Summer of 1984 I Ran 10 Laps of a Parking Lot Behind my House. Found a Length of GAS Pipe,,, Reversed a pair of Bicycle Handle GRIPS so that the,,, four 5# plastic weights (10#'s Total) of my Father wouldn't slide in on my hands,,, sawed the legs of an old bar stool to about 2ft. off the Floor. And TRAINED ALL SUMMER!!!

    - Throwing a Football FARTHER then anyone!

So we'd gravitate towards the magazine section and whilst I see my "dodgy friends" pick up the dirty mags from the top shelf, I noticed this incredible looking human on the cover of a magazine. His name was Mohamed makkawy the year was 1984 and from then on i was hooked on weight training and wanting to look just like them. All from the off chance of spotting a bodybuilding magazine.. I'm not a Christian, but if someone really has the power for me to give Christianity one more try, is Lee Haney. His way of explaining faith makes a whole lot of sense, and his integrity is impeccable. I wish that was the approach to Jesus I was given when I was younger, instead of the mwgalomeniacal ogre I was brought up to "worship" and "adore". Thank you, Lee, for being such a great champion and an example of what a real man is supposed to be.

      Just Another Guy You should've never left something that's not complicated. GOD is not complicated, it's religions and humans that have made GOD seem complicated just so people can run away and end up not obtaining the HOLY SPIRIT. The good book says the MOST HIGH hated religion, it's all about relationship and you guys always let the enemy complicate that because you really don't care nor love GOD

    This man inspired me to get to the gym when I was an inactive overweight teenager back in the 80's. So great to see him doing well and staying healthy.
    What Lee isn't saying about bodybuilders today is that the kinds of drugs these guys are doing allow them to pack on to much muscle to fast and their joints, tendons, ligaments, and skeletal structure can't support it. Sure there were drugs back in those days, but not nearly as effective as the ones now.

    • @benjijoyce6376
      @benjijoyce6376 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thats an interesting perspective on the drug use, man. I think its more that the drug protocols and quantities have improved/increased as I've seen countless 90s bodybuilders claim that the PEDs back then were in a different class to today's. Listening to interviews about their stacks, they are shockingly low compared to today's athletes (if they were being honest about the quantities).

    • @Cryslr3Hun
      @Cryslr3Hun 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure about drugs being not as effective but what I do see is how the drugs are being abused. It seems back then they tried to use the bare minimum to get them to the next level as opposed today they want to go from amateur to pro overnight.
