If you put the drill in reverse it won’t tear the headliner, also wait till after you install the headliner in the truck before you trim the strings so none get pulled out when trying to put headliner in the truck
@@jimmycorbett4611 no problem man! Yeah when I did my first headliner all the videos I watched showed them clipping the strings before install and when I installed mine I lost about 10-15 strings because of that. I’ve done 3 headliners since and waited to clip them after install and they turned out perfect.
I have done about 20 of these installs to date.... I found using a brand new super sharp 135 degree drill bit it cuts super smoothly... Makes the install quite nice... Its very time consuming but very worth the time and effort
Hey man if you ever continue to do these upholstery T-pins are about the exact size of these fiber optics. They're super sharp so they push through easily, much faster than drilling and eliminates any tear out. Also a lot cheaper 👍 maybe check them out if you continue to do these installs
I started this project. Turns out the sunroof in my Sierra isn't factory and they had cut the old headliner around the sunroof and now I can either buy a $500 oem healdiner and make it work or try to rewrap the old one like it was... Oh joy!
Does the drill bit tear through the headliner fabric leaving little fuzzy spots everywhere? I use an exacto knife but i replace the blade with a sewing needle. I couldnt imagine having to drill out every hole
@@JWMontoya I think it will be one of those things that dates itself real quick. Definitely looks your guys' install went well. But there will be a ton of these out there that will look like ass.
Youre the only one that shows how the fibers pop out of the headliner and routed to the trunk, others just tell you how to do it, thanks!

Thanks for this info. Especially the part about waiting till it’s installed to cut the strings. wouldn’t have thought of that.

@@Bigwormjerm- you should hot glue each strand
@@sneakerstalkin yeah you do but putting the headliner back in the strings can still get caught on plastics or seatbelt loops and pull out

Can I ask how exactly you powered all 20 installs? I’m stuck on that atm.
@@Cyprus.s use a fuse tap in the interior fuse box to power the lights

how thick of a drill bit r u using?
I covered the back of headliner after gluing with stretchable material to keep the fibers from snagging .
I’m between doing g 600 and 800
Clean work. Wished you would’ve showed the finished product a bit more
Cheers!
Looks nice I did something like that in my truck and the hot glue melt. Good look 👀
With three different diameters, do install them in any type of order ? or let them fall where they may ?
Would you need a bigger alternator to be able to push the battery with more amps.. I would imagine it would drain the battery faster
Nah lol prolly jus a better battery
No, its only a 5w - 15w LED. It doesn't require much power.
These guys know there shit
So should I connect it to fuse or battery?
Buy the kit here: amzn.to/3moFyu2
Doing my 3rd headliner as we speak, did a 450 and 1000 now I’m doing another 450. Hardest part it’s getting it in and out
That’s awesome man 🤘
Did you have to any wiring to your car for them to turn on or Did you use your cigarette lighter?
That looks sick ! Another great upload and another step closer to SEMA
Appreciate it!
Will this work for a 2005 dodge ram 1500 quad cab / crew cab
Great content.... good friends helping each other that's what it is all about .... thanks guys
Thanks for watching 🤘

I love the music that you use in your videos
Hey I have a Ml 350 2006 Benz I want the stars … do you think they would look good in my suv
How many hours?
In the link you posted does the same set comes with the shooting stars as well or that’s separate and if so what’s the link to that one ?

wich way did you end up going?
I just pulled the old liner out for now and running bare. gonna save up and order a factorybone form gm. got measurements and they should fit
i want starlights so bad
How did u get it thru ya sunroof ?
did you get the 13.1 ft????

Just watch your video what do you recommend? The hole punch or drill?
@@sneakerstalkin I would suggest using the needle honestly. Too great a chance for the drill bit to tear out the fibers on the fabric.
How does this shooting star work?
If someone like myself want to have you do this to my 2013 Lincoln Navigator, how much would you charge?
DO IT!!!!!
Who in the augusta or north augusta area can do this install? Will having a sunroof be a problem?
Looks awesome bro see your truck around town all the time made me follow you on the tube.
How much sleep do these guys get ??? Can't be very much?.? Right???
What rock lights you runnin under the pickup?

Just cerouse to wait yall do for a living to be able to afford these nasty builds
Nothing fancy. Budgeting and saving up
Has the 1500 Denali guy done any more work on his truck ?
Not since the last upload
Get ram then do it
Don’t do it! It reminds me of those squatted or “tooted” trucks. Looks like crap “they” would do. But, personally that’s me and what I think.
I think they're tasteful if the rest of the truck isn't a clapped out squatted chromosomobile
This is one of those trends that I hope dies quickly. Don't do it to your truck.
Definitely doing it since I like it a lot

@Baum Squad yeah or like the rgb lights that light up the floor inside a car or truck
I remember when I did my starlight headliner all by myself 🥲sad days lol
But do it to your truck it’s worth it
Having friends help is way easier for sure
